A woman is alive tonight all thanks to a quick thinking Good Samaritan. When he saw her car plunge into could be creek today, he jumped in after it. And when he emerged from the water he told his story to Eyewitness News reporter todd quinn known. Reporter the suv was flipped over submerged in water and the driver trapped inside. When marcel port was handed rock and a box cutter to go along with his courage. She had stopped breathing. We broke the window. Tried to get her out. Her seat belt was on. We cut the seat belt off. Got her out the car. Reporter port had has never been taught cpr started to giving the woman mouth to mouth based as he says on what he saw on television. We didnt know what we was doing but we tried our best and finally we gave up. And as we started to walk away she started breathing. Reporter what was that moment like when you saw her starting that breathe . It i couldnt even speak about it. I mean, i just did the best i can, and i started to think i started to fail, um, and then she started breathing. Reporter Philadelphia Police believe the woman driver may have suffered some kind of medical emergency as she was driving north on cobbs creek parkway near greenway avenue. Stunned eyewitnesses say what port and another Good Samaritan did was nothing short of heroic. It wasnt like she making a full turn. It looked like the car veered off. The suv flipped down an embankment and landed in cobbs creek at around 33 30 tuesday afternoon. 12 districtth Police Officers logan and byron dawson arrived shortly after the accident. Once we got her up she was breathing. When she was in the water she looked totally out of it. Reporter indications are right now that driver should pull through. City inspectors are trying to figure out what caused the roof of this building in philadelphias Queen Village neighborhood to collapse earli earlier. Chopper three over the 900 block of south front street late this afternoon. The building houses the petes sake pub and several apartments. A few people were inside the building when it happened. They were able to escape without injury. Tonight were hearing the plea for help from a Police Officer wounded in the line of duty. Philadelphia officer stephen korpalski suffered a deep graze wound to his head after he was shot by a suspect in tacony just after midnight. Investigators say david ellis shot officer korpalski after the officer approached him during an investigation of gunshots in the area. Other officers returned fire killing the suspect. No one someone got shot in the head you always fear for the worse. Another fraction of an inch probably would have caught him right in the eye or certainly right in the head and his injuries would have been far more severe if not fatal. Officer korpalski is a 14 year veteran of the force. He is now recovering at home with his wife and three week old baby girl. Aft playing it for 20 minutes the brain starts processing negative information different differently. We can train an anxious person to pay less attention to threats. More attention to positive thing in the games and that transfers how they look the and Pay Attention in the real world. The National Institute of health is funning study. People resist less if it feels like a game. If it feels like fun. There are concern that some people would underestimate the seriousness of their illness and download a game instead of seeking professional health. When you add in the activit activities requests and other things that help you raise your mood and feel better about yourself its just a joy a play.
