We begin with this mornings top story, the situation in baltimore. The Six Police Officers facing felony charges in the death of freddie gray almost three weeks ago, including one count of murder turned themselves in at the city jail on friday. They were later released on bond. Baltimores top Prosecutor Says all the evidence including an autopsy, supports the criminal charges. Last night, there were 38 protestrelated arrests and 15 curfew violation arrests. The curfew remains in effect. A massive gathering is being lanned today, which is now being called a victory rally after the charges on the Police Officers. Lets get the latest from mark albert in washington. Mark good morning. Reporter good morning. We are here outside of Baltimore City hall. This is the park that will host that rally that you just mentioned after a threemile march from freddie grays home. It was right across the street from here that prosecutors surprised the city yesterday issuing warrants for the arrest of the six officers and telling them that police had turned over their investigation just one day before. To the people of baltimore and the demonstrators across america, i heard your call reporter marilyn mosby, herself the daughter of Police Officers and in office only four months acted decisively after meeting the family of freddie gray. I assured his family that no one is above the law and that i would pursue justice on their behalf. Reporter on friday mosby charged six officers with at least three counts each, and declared her citys cops illegally arrested gray. Mosby alleged the officers ignored grays pleas for help at least five times and put him on his stomach headfirst into a police van for the ride to the Police Station without a seat belt on. Gray suffered a severe spinal injury and died after a week in a coma. Baltimore mayor stephanie rawlingsblake praised the vast majority of the citys officers but then delivered this warning. To those of you who wish to engage in brutality, misconduct racism, and corruption let me be clear, there is no place in the Baltimore City Police Department for you. Reporter baltimore residents took to the streets in jubilation after the surprise announcement with police in riot gear standing calmly nearby. Freddie grays stepfather Richard Shipley asked for continued peace. Because this city needs to get back to work. The last thing that freddie would want is to see the hardworking people of baltimore lose their jobs and businesses. Reporter meanwhile, the Baltimore Police union said their officers were the victims of an egregious rush to judgment and they demanded an independent prosecutor. No officer injured mr. Gray caused harm to mr. Gray and they are truly saddened by his death. These officers did nothing wrong. Reporter president obama spoke from the white house. What i think the people of baltimore want more than anything else is the truth. Thats what people around the country expect. Reporter baltimores top prosecutor was asked what needs to happen to make sure that this incident does not happen again. Her answer, accountability. Youre getting it today. An overnight curfew though, remains in effect and the National Guard is still on watch. Vinita . Mark albert in baltimore this morning, thank you. Cbs news justice reporter paula reid has been following the case closely. Good morning. Good morning. Obviously these charges have been heavily scrutinized, but i want to ask you about mosby herself. 35. Inherited the job after a resignation. Do you see some of this as a declaration of her independence . I think thats right. Mosby has come under so much criticism since she became involved with this case. They say shes too young, too experienced. She comes from generations of Police Officers. How could she possibly be objective in this case . And in talking with her office over the past week they kept emphasizeing that they were doing their own independent investigation. They were not relying on the police to investigate themselves. Even when the police eventually handed over their file, she said, you know what, this is nothing new to me, ive already seen it. So she came out yesterday with this announcement and she was declaring this that she was was independent, strong and capable of handling a case like this. These are very aggressive charges. Is there a risk here she might have overcharged the Police Officers . Thats always possible in a highprofile situation like this. Weve all seen whats going on in baltimore. And in previous cases, even very experienced prosecutors can overcharge in these cases. We can look at the case of george zimmerman, a very experienced prosecutor sort of bowed to public pressure, charged him with seconddegree murder. When we got to trial, we realized the evidence didnt actually match up with those charges. So its very easy to charge very difficult to convict. You also have to imagine she is under a tremendous amount of cmmunity pressure. Do you think that played any role in these decisions . I do. The speed at which she made this decision definitely indicates she was trying to speak to the community, and then her remarks yesterday, she spoke to them directly. She said youve been chanting no justice, no peace. She said i need some peace while i handle the justice aspect of this case. She has not gone to a grand jury yet. Will she . She will. At the outset she has two choices. She can bring an affidavit, or go to a grand jury. The outcome is not always satisfactory to the community, so she decided to just bring the case bring the charges, and now she will likely go before a grand jury to test her case. That also allows her to keep all the evidence that she has secret. All right. Paula reid thanks so much for being with us this morning. Thank you. Also overnight, violence broke out during some may day rallies across the country. In seattle, marchers threw wrenches sticks and rocks at Police Officers, injuringe inging three of them. Officers responded to what they called a riot with pepper spray. 16 people were arrested. In portland oregon, an unruly crowd threw chairs and other objects at police. One officer was injured. Now to nepal, where more than 6,600 people are known dead and more than 14,000 injured from the earthquake that struck one week ago. Nepals government is pleading for International Donors to sent tents and food. U. S. Marines are arriving to help with the relief effort. Nepals capital suffered extensive damage. But conditions are much worse in the himalayan country side. Reporter it is a challenge getting aid to people who need it in this country filled with small airports and winding country roads. We wanted to get out of katmandu into the country to see what it was like. Up in the mountains of nepal on bumpy dirt paths, its clear to see how difficult it is getting aid into these remote regions. We abandoned our van and walked the rest of the way to the devastated village. Were so tired and the pace of work is slow, this woman told us. She and her family are trying to salvage bricks so they can eventually rebuild. The u. N. Figures more than 130,000 homes have been destroyed across nepal. These villagers tell us they have not seen any aid here at all. They do not need food they say they can grow that. What they do need in the shortterm is tents and shelter as theyve lost so many homes. And with the rainy season approaching, ultimately they need help rebuilding. I leave my college and then come here to help my family. Reporter he told us he was shocked to see his home in ruins. Ill it take to rebuild in a place like this . It takes more than three to four years. Reporter a long time. Years. Before last weeks earthquake, he wanted to study abroad but for now, his future is on hold. His family is his top priority. I just say, you dont need to worry. Its not our problem. Its our whole nations problem. Reporter this is a country that is struggling to get back to normal, though we are starting to see some encouraging signs. Were seeing more stores open, more Street Vendors selling things like fruit. More atms open as electricity starts to come back online in some parts of the city. One of the biggest signs, those giant tent cities that popped up after the earthquake. Those are getting smaller as people start to go back to their homes, anthony. Thats good news. Seth doane in katmandu nepal. Britain has a new princess. Prince williams wife kate has given birth to a baby girl. This is the second wife for the royal couple. Mark phillips has the latest from outside the hospital in london. Mark good morning. Reporter good morning. And welcome to what may have become the most famous maternity wing on the planet of st. Marys hospital here in london where it has been announced the arrival of 8 pounds three ounces worth of bouncing Baby Princess. Mother and daughter both apparently doing well. The announcement by this thoroughly modern royal family made via twitter and by more traditional means. Three cheers for the princess some things never change. So its a girl which is what the family is rumored to have wanted. A new princess, name to be announced sometime soon. The baby will be fourth in line to the throne after her older brother. The classic spare to the heir. Currently dad, prince william, is heir to the throne. His younger brother prince harry is the spare to that generation. An accident of birth, that means gracefully taking a back seat. I think the spare is seen as someone who will forge their way within the royal family and support senior members of the royal family rather than taking on any kind of regency role. Reporter in Medieval Times when kings often died young, spares got the top job. Less so nowadays. Though as late as 1936 in a game of thrones no one predicted, the heir, king edward xiii handed the throne to his brother when he married wallace simpson, an american and unacceptably to the government at the time a divorcee. The spare george xi took the throne. The current spare has been a notorious party boy, but less responsibility doesnt always mean being less responsible. Harry has served on the front lines in afghanistan, and has worked hard to shape a public role as a royal ambassador formally standing in for his grandmother. Now the speculation is on whether there will be a royal visit, whether young Prince George who is 21 months himself, will be brought here to see his brandnew baby sister. And of course, the bookies are taking bets on what the name will be. The family hasnt said but the current frontrunners are alice, charlotte, victoria and of course the sentimental favorite diana. But theres no money apparently being put on vinita. Vinita . You know, they were hoping for a girl and so were we. Mark phillips in london thank you so much. Im voting for victoria. There is this cool twitter message about the royal birth. The hms lancaster lined up and formed the word sister. The ship is known as the queen. Turning to sports it is being called the fight of the century. One thing is certain, tonights Welterweight Championship bout between unbeaten Floyd Mayweather jr. It was certainly high drama, and to the nearly 17,000 fans who watched Floyd Mayweather stare down Manny Pacquiao its all just a prelude. Because every bit matters. Time now for morning rounds with cbs news chief medical correspondent dr. Jon lapook and contributor dr. Holly phillips. First up, were leading with our chin. Specifically our double chin. The fda approved a first of its kind nonsurgical treatment designed to melt the fat off. Holly, tell us about that. So this is an injectable drug. Its not surgery. And its actually a synthetic form of a compound we already have in our intestines. In our intestines it helps to break down fat from food. In this case its being injected into the area under the chin to break down fat there. What it does specifically is it dissolves the cell membrane fat cells, essentially destroying them in the process. What are the side effects, and really does it work . Thats what i really want to know. So i spoke to one of the doctors whos involved in the clinical trials. He said the results were overwhelmingly that it was, in fact, effective. But you know what this is sort of a quite a commitment of a procedure. Its done over the course of six months with monthly injections. Sometimes 50 at a time. So of course if youre getting 50 injections under your chin you would expect redness and swelling. But there were some other side effects reported like difficulty swallowing. Some people reported facial weakness. Those things resolve, but theyre still serious concerns. As a doctor jon, when somebody tells you they want to change their appearance what do you tell them . Somebody comes in and they feel very strongly, they just want to do this and theyre psychologically intact ill go along with them and back them up. On the other hand, a lot of times people come in and theyre not quite sure. They go, what do you think, do i need something . I try to do a deeper psychological dive. Why are you doing this . Are you trying to achieve some sort of an ideal thats really not realistic based on things that you may see, celebrities on magazine covers. And Cindy Crawford famously said, even i dont wake up looking like Cindy Crawford. And i actually spoke to her. I just spoke to her, i wanted to know was this urban legend. She said she did say it. She wasnt talking about retouching. She was talking about the fact that she wakes up she doesnt look like shell eventually look after hair and makeup and the lighting. She said they may take 200 pictures of me and pick out the best one. The reason she was so excited about doing this was she said, as a girl you like to dress up do hair, makeup its kind of a fantasy. She likes to think it inspires women to do the same. But if you start off feeling badly about yourself and you see these pictures it may make you feel even worse. So i think you have to say where is it coming from and exactly why are you doing it. Nice to hear that from a supermodel, too, right . The American College of physicians has new best practice guidelines to try and avoid too much Cervical Cancer screenings. So what is this about . Its interesting, these are not new guidelines. These guidelines were sort of reissued as a reminder to physicians not to overscreen for Cervical Cancer. Screening can start at the age of 21. At that point, you get a pap smear every three years. At the age of 30, you can start screening every five years and add an hpv test along with that. For some women, by the time they reach age 65 they dont need to be screened again for Cervical Cancer if they have had negative results leading up to this. Its just a reminder that more in this case is not necessarily better based on years and years of research. What are the consequences of overscreening for Cervical Cancer . The test itself can involve some anxiety and discomfort and cost. And if you have a positive result, you can end up needing a biopsy. That can lead to some bleeding and infection, other complications, certainly pain. Then theres the question of false positives. Was it really a positive or a misread, some problem with the test. Even if its a true positive even if people actually have hpv, which is the virus that ends up causing Cervical Cancer in some cases, 90 of people who have hpv infections clear it on their own within two years. So if you just wait it can go away in 90 of the cases. This week federal Health Officials recommended cutting the amount of fluoride in Drinking Water for the first time in more than 50 years. John, why are Health Officials recommending this change . Theyre tinkering with the recommended dose. This was the initial amount that they recommended. Now they realize years later that people have a lot of fluoride that they ingest in toothpaste and in mouthwash. And if you have too much you can have some abnormal white markings and even rarely some pitting of the tooth. Why is the government continuing this practice then . You know, its really a hot button issue vinita. I actually see logical arguments on both sides. On one hand we have to acknowledge that putting fluoride in Drinking Water was one of the greatest Public Health achievements and services that there has ever been. It completely changed dental health in this country. It really dropped the level of decay for both adults and kids and is still doing that now. Its also a great equalizer. You know, at that time when it was first introduced, many people could not afford dental care. They couldnt afford to get to the dentist. Today, many people still cant. On the other hand, though even though we have a large body of evidence showing that small amounts of fluoride in Drinking Water are not harmful, i think it always makes sense to continue to mount that evidence, to continue to make sure that whatever were doing, were doing more good than harm. My 96yearold dentist father who is at home watching this im sure would not forgive me if i didnt point out its not a replacement for the flossing and the brushing and all the stuff youre supposed to do. Understudy highlights the Health Benefits of a very simple benefit of walking. Did we need a study to remind us that walking was good for us . Its another reminder that sitting itself is dangerous. This was an observational study. It looked at 3,000 people. Basically what they did was, for every hour that they were sedentary, basically for every hour they sat, they stood up and just walked for two minutes. They werent power walking or jogging, they just walked for two minutes. They found it decreased the risk of all causes of death for those people by 33 and even more for the people who had kidney disease. Just two minutes. Its not only about getting exercise or getting to the gym for 45 minutes a day. If youre going to sit for eight hours straight that in and of itself has risks. Right. In evolution, we didnt sit around a lot. We were moving around. Theres something about the act of staying sedentary thats more dangerous than we realize. Why that is were going to figure out. Were going to walk this commercial break. Finally, a challenging job may be stressful now, but it could keep you sharp after you retire. Now tesla, the elect rick car maker, has come up with a solution. Large, hightech batteries. Teslas founder elon musk says theyll let homeowners store solar power during the day and keep using it at night. Lets learn more from bridget teary. This is called the power wall battery. What does it cost what does it do . The company that has made the electric car has made a home battery to get you less dependent on the grid and get you using solar. This is the same kind of battery that you might find in your home, but its a lot bigger. Its as big as a tv. When it comes to how much juice is inside its about a third of the power that you might use in your home in a typical day. But, of course the question is is it worth getting . The batteries themselves 3,000 or 3,500 depending on how much juice you want. And you have to ask yourself, is it worth it depending on where you live and whats going on. If youre in a place thats really sunny electricity is expensive and you have solar panels, its going to pay off over time. But if you dont have solar panels, you have to do a little homework. You have to see how much energy your Power Company is charging you, and if they have a big difference between different times of high demand and low demand. Because if there is a big difference in high demand times and low demand times, you can kind of work the system a little bit. So when everyone is cranking their ac you dont have to pay for more expensive power at that time. You can use your battery, which charged up overnight, the cost is less. It seems lake so many Different Energy companies are moving into this space right now. But when you say things like run the airconditioning, take care of other things that you run on energy, how much power can we actually store and how long will it last . It remains to be seen how many different kind of appliances we can have running at once on this thing. But if you think about it it has enough juice to definitely run your lights and get your fridge going. Its interesting, its also a way to count as a backup battery if the power goes out. The big issue with batteries from the beginning here has been the cost of them. Tesla has built this new 5 billion plant. Is that beginning to help bring down the cost . What is interesting is that tesla is trying to solve the big battery problem. In technology this is the next frontier. Right now, Battery Technology has been the same. It hasnt kept up with computers and tesla wants to solve that problem. You think of tesla as a car company, but really a battery company. Its interesting, this battery is derived from the car battery that they made but when can people actually get this one . You can order it now and theyll start delivering them in the summer. Tesla has been a game changer, lets face it. Are they going to be a game changer here, do you think . They have a lot of cool factor. They definitely are getting the conversation going. Charges against Baltimore Police officers, six Baltimore Police officers were charged in the death of freddie gray the 25yearold was arrested three weeks ago and suffered severe spinal injuries while in custody. He died after being in a coma for one week. Since then there have been near daily protests some of them violent. 38 people were arrested last night. Thousands of people are expected at a demonstration today. Mark albert is in baltimore. Good morning. Reporter good morning. This is the headline in the baltimore sun, six charged. And despite the dramatically different atmosphere after those arrests, the National Guard and extra police are still on the streets, and the overnight curfew remains in effect. There were cheers from residents after baltimores top prosecutor announced she was charging the six baltimore officers because no one is above the law. Mosby said her citys officers illegally arrested gray on april 12th ignoring grays pleas for medical help. She says they put him on his stomach headfirst into a police van for the ride to the Police Station without a seat belt on, where he suffered a severe spinal injury inside the van. Freddie grays family spoke last night. This city needs to get back to work. The last thing that freddie would want is to see the hardworking people of baltimore lose their jobs and businesses. We believe that the actions taken today by the states attorney are an egregious rush to judgment and we have grave concerns about the fairness and integrity of the prosecution of the officers. Reporter the police union also wants an independent prosecutor appointed. This afternoon, this part of city hall will host a huge rally after a threemile march from freddie grays home. Mark albert in baltimore. Thanks. The events in baltimore will be one of the topics tomorrow morning on face the nation here on cbs. Bob schieffers guests will include Cornell William brooks head of the naacp. Also congressman paul ryan republican of wisconsin. This is the second child for kate and her husband prince william. The baby has not been given a name yet. Mark phillips is outside the hospital in london. Mark good morning. Reporter good morning. Well, the happy announcement this morning of eight pounds and three ounces birth of bouncing Baby Princess mother child, and father who was present for the birth all doing well. The announcement made in two ways by a traditional, although unofficial town cryer here at the hospital. And also in a quaint royal way of putting an announcement on an easel at the gets of buckingham palace. So we now know the when and the what, the when being today, the what being a girl and all the speculation, as you say, is now on what the name will be. The bookies are already taking bets on alice, charlotte, victoria, and the sentimental favorite diana. Everythings gone very smoothly and much more quickly this time than it did when Prince George was born and its even anticipated that the naming, which took two days last time may happen more quickly and kate may leave the hospital more quickly, perhaps as early as later today, although the safer bet would still be tomorrow. Thank you very much mark. Now there are going to be pools about the name. There were so many pools about the date. Im sure someones cashing in this morning. I love it when the footman brought out the royal press release. Boxing is nowhere near as popular as it once was, but when a really big fight comes along, the sports world pays attention. Tonight in las vegas, unbeaten Floyd Mayweather jr. Takes on Manny Pacquiao for the Welterweight Championship in the richest event in boxing history. Win or lose both fighters will cash in bigtime. Cbs news special correspondent james brown spoke with both of them. Reporter on friday nearly 17,000 fans paid 10 each just to see Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao weigh in and show off their physiques. The fever pitch anticipation began on tuesday here in las vegas when the hype machine was in overdrive for both camps. The mandalay bay looked like downtown manila as a couple thousand mostly filipinos turned out to rally for their countryman Manny Pacquiao. Are you excited . Reporter and a marching band led the way as even more fans turned out to the mgm grand to cheer the undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather. Money Floyd Mayweather give it up reporter but when we talked to both fighters, their calm demeanors belied the hoopla that surrounded them. I think this is my corner, too. Reporter for 38yearold mayweather, its about his maturity. Does it bother you that you are characterized as being brash, cocky, ostentatious . Yes, i have a lot of personality. Yes, im very outspoken. Reporter no of course. But im saying but im older and wiser now. Im closer to 40 than i am to 21. Reporter and for 36yearold pacquiao, its about his newfound faith. Manny, in your mind why did it take five years for this fight to happen . I believe that its gods plan that it will happen now. Reporter you still have what it takes to make this as big a fight as folks are hoping that it will be . Yes, still have that. The skill is still there. Reporter the only thing bigger than the fight is the box office. Sales figures are simply staggering. Payperview is expected to bring in a record 300 million. One ticket on stubhub was listed at over 350,000. Ad space on Manny Pacquiaos shorts sold for more than 2 million. The amount of money is not lost on the fighters who both grew up in very modest circumstances. Thats what im trying to do to give the best fight, a good fight, and to make people happy, because they deserve it for paying this expensive, you know ticket. I never imagined that in my life that i can be like this. You know, god raised me from nothing into something. I sit back and i reflect back on my life. And then i look t where i come from to where im at now. Reporter and . Mother on drugs, dad drugged up, dad been to prison. Seven living in a onebedroom to where im at now. Im blessed. Im blessed. Im truly, truly blessed. Reporter despite their similarities, some in the media have cast the fight as good versus evil. Born again Christian Pacquiao against the brass champion who served two months in jail for Domestic Violence against the mother of three of his children. Mayweather has been reluctant to talk about his past legal issues, but he touched on them with me. Im black. Im rich. Im outspoken. Those are three strikes against me already. Am i a target . Absolutely. Did they blow things out of proportion . Absolutely. They did. And i took a plea not to drag my children and my family through the mud because im a real man. Reporter despite the story lines, by wednesday at the final joint press conference with nine figure paydays in their sights both fighters were all about business promoting the fight, praising each other, and perhaps feeling the weight of history on their shoulders. On saturday you know i believe that hes going to do his best on saturday and im going to do my best on saturday to put our name in boxing history. You know, its time to fight now. You guys came out here to see excitement. You guys came out here to see a great event. And i think thats what both competitors bring to the table, excitement. Plenty adult americans have probably not heard of kurt cobain until the news yesterday that he had apparently killed himself, but the Young Musician who made grunge music popular had become an overnight spokesman for many disaffected young people and today radio stations around the country paid tribute to him as his fans tried to sort out what it was that had caused him to take his own life. More than two decades after kurt cobain died nirvanas front man is still an object of fascination and reverence for fans around the world. A new documentary montage of heck provides the most intimate and revealing look yet at the life of the legendary singer. Eight years in the making it includes rarely seen footage from the early days of nirvana. We played together in the house for a couple of hours, and if two people stopped by, we considered that a gig, a show. That was good enough. We had an audience of two people, you know . Locals who hated our guts who thought it was terrible music. The documentary premieres monday on hbo with director brett morgen with us this morning. Good morning to you, brett. Good morning. This is such an intimate documentary. How did you get involved and why did you want to do this . Well i got a call from Courtney Love in 2007 and she said the world knows kurt as the lead singer of nirvana, but what most people dont know is he was a prolific artist. What i soon realized was that kurt was creating art from the moment he could hold a paint brush. He didnt just work in music, he worked in sound, he did paintings, he did drawings, he did super 8 films. In a way, the reason were talking about kurt is because he was able to articulate his experience about teenage angst as well as anyone in the pop culture in the last 25 years. But he was able to articulate that same experience, that same Life Experience across all these different forms of media. This is an interesting point ive heard you make which is that actually in interviews he wasnt that articulate, but you get a much clearer picture from him from these notebooks and these films, and these collages you talk about him making. You had access to this extensive Storage Facility. What did you find in there . Everything. You know one thing that became clear really fast is that the way as you pointed out, the way that we all knew kurt was through the way the media depicted him, which is what i call filtered media. Everything inside the Storage Facility was unfiltered media. So kurt would, for example, record himself standing around his apartment, just hit play and record, hed go do the dishes, answer the phone. What does it sound like when someones alone . How do you know what someones like when theyre alone . Who could testify to that . But kurt left a record. And you know what . Hes happy. The moments of happiness and laughter and joy that we never saw, i found in these tapes. And so its really remarkable. I was as cynical as anyone going into this project. Like what is there to say about kurt . It turned out everything. One of the most interesting things to watch, partly because its the most intimate and the toughest to watch are the home movies of him with his baby. Where did those come from . They came from a number of different sources. One of the things at the beginning of this project, i sat down with kurts daughter francis, who is our executive producer. And the one thing francis said to me is people think kurts like a unicorn, like hes this mythical figure. He said whatever you do make sure that this film is honest. Thats the best tribute we can ask of kurt. And people see this film they talk about how its so intimate that they feel that theyre looking at things that they shouldnt see. But my feeling is that idea belonged to next of kin, and in this case its francis, and this is the movie that she wants us all to see. Theres also a lot of drug use throughout the documentary. Did you have a lot of conversations with your team about what you should use, what you shouldnt use . Was the family involved in any of that . No, you know i felt that if we didnt show it wed be propel gaiting a myth, a romanticism about kurts drug use. That seems irresponsible. Even though you seem some Haunting Images of him, youre left much closer to him. I think most audiences around the world would agree the man is so much more interesting and endearing. You spent eight years making this film. Now that youre done and its finally out there, what did you find out about kurt cobain . I found him to be relatable in ways i never imagined. I found a boy who really struggled through life trying to find acceptance. It wasnt about fame, it was about family. It was much simpler. A much more human narrative about a boy who just wants his family. And hence he invested so much in courtney and francis. You see these love letters with his girlfriends, and theyre amazing and how funny he was. It sounds like youre going to miss him after eight years of all that time looking at the footage. I am going to miss him and i think everyones going to miss him after the film. Brett morgen thank you so much. Montage of heck debuts monday on hbo. Its been called blade runner meets the social network. The movie tells the story of an internet billionaire who creates an emotionally intelligent android named ava. Hello. Hi. Im caleb. Hello, caleb. Do you have a name . Yes. Ava. Im pleased to meet you, ava. Im pleased to meet you, too. Ava is played by swedish actress Alicia Vikander. Youll be hearing that name a lot. Shes set to appear in eight major hollywood movies this year with stars like Bradley Cooper hugh grant and Eddie Redmayne. Good morning. Good morning. Thats a lot of work. Yeah. I guess its just a bit of a coincidence. This film, its almost two years ago now. That you actually shot it yeah. So some of the films have been long in post. And a film with Eddie Redmayne, we finish just one and a half week ago, but thats coming out later this year. I read that you made an audition tape of yourself acting like a robot to get this part. Yes, i was in australia shooting when i read the script and i thought it was one of the best scripts i had ever read. There was no chance for me to meet the producers or the director, so i had some guys on the crew of the film i was making to come with me after midnight when we had to finish shoot back to my hotel, and we underlit this white table and i pulled back my hair and put sunscreen on my face. You know, i did one of the scenes in the film but it was a quite different ava from the one in our film. I think about you as an actress, i wonder what did you channel when you play a woman playing a robot whos playing a what did you look to as your Reference Point . Well, i mean it was different. Because normally you kind of take on a part and at least you can relate to the person being a human. And now i didnt even have that. So it was a big challenge. I was quite terrified. But i really enjoyed it. How do they accomplish the special effects in this movie . I would imagine you werent in regular clothes when you were doing this. Well, kind of what you see on the poster its funny, because people kind of ask about the green screen of it. I think that actually is how i imagined it was going to be like. Instead, whatever you see in the shape is actually what i looked like. So the gray mesh just covered my entire body. So i was like a big spiderman suit, and it looks like my face is put on my head. You can see the forehead is kind of built on top of my skull. They did that in makeup. Thats actually not cgi. Your mother is an actress. Your father is a psychiatrist. Is it true your parents read your scripts before you did them . Still. Still . Yes. I trust their thoughts and opinions. Theyre very tough and very honest, which is a good thing. You have such a big year ahead of you. I mean, people are saying by december, everyone will know your name, between the movies the face of louis vuitton. What is it like preparing for all of that and what are you most excited for . Im so excited for the films to finally come out. I think were just you know im waiting for the audience to finally get to see the work weve done. In august youve got youll be in the man from uncle, a film made from guy ritchie, from the 60s tv series which i grew up watching. What do you play . I play a german car mechanic. I did not tell them that i didnt have a drivers license before i got the part. So i had to do some lessons for that. No i mean i was a big fan of his previous work and i hadnt really done any comedy work so it was a big challenge. But i had so much fun shooting it. The movie is excellent and i youre even more beautiful with a full head of hair. Yeah, lots of hair and big eyelashes. Alicia vikander thank you so much. Thank you so much. The movie ex machina is in theaters now. Coming up its no secret Baseball Players like to chew. It used to be tobacco, but times are changing and an old school good morning im todd quinones. Reporter rob nelson invented one of the most recognized bubble gum brands in america, Big League Chew. From the littlest leagues up to the big leagues, everybody becomes a kid when they start chewing Big League Chew. Reporter the story of how it started is on the back of every pouch. Sitting in a bullpen on a summer night long ago, portland mavericks lefthander rob nelson came up with a fun new bubble gum idea. Shreds gum in a pouch. Nelson bought a cheap gum kit and made his first batch. I just followed the instructions. It was like making brownies. We had a sheet of it and we baked it and then we used the round pizza knife to make them into shreds. Reporter nelsons minor league teammate jim boutan funded the project, they pitched it to amurol who sold the first pouch in 1980. Almost instantly, it was a home run, bringing in 18 million the first year. For Big League Flavor and big league bubbles, its Big League Chew. Reporter wrigley sold Big League Chew in 2010 to an american gum company shifting the operation from mexico to upstate new york. You have a thousand pounds of gum here and unfortunately, we cant sell a thousandpound blob of gum, so we have to put it into a form that people are going to buy. Reporter it takes two days for a batch of Big League Chew to go from mixing to packaging. Big league chew is your most difficult gum to make. Yes it is. Reporter why . Its difficult to make because you have to get the consistency absolutely right. Otherwise it wont shred. Reporter and shredding is the signature. Shredding is the signature of the brand, absolutely. This is called a shooter. It will start pulling the gum. As it pulls the gum, it makes the sheet thinner and thinner and thinner. Big league chew we think is the best gum in terms of blowing a bubble, and that deals with the components of the gum base that comprise Big League Chew. Reporter believe it or not things do get a little gummed up in a gum factory, so a light dusting of corn starch is used as a lubricant. And then from here it cures. And then we will feed the sheets into a shredder to actually shred the gum. Reporter every day, about 100,000 pouchs of Big League Chew is packaged here, and they are proud to tell you its made in america. This is fresh, made today. Reporter hot off the press. Absolutely. Joe isidori is a Third Generation chef who spent much of his childhood in his fathers kitchen and went on to spend his early career in donald trumps. He eventually became trumps executive chef overseeing the dining concepts for all of his many properties. Now an independent restauranteur, hes opened three places in the past four years, including chalk point kitchen, a farmhouse style restaurant in the soho neighborhood of manhattan, and close by, black tap, featuring craft beers, burgers, and cocktails. Chef joe isidori welcome to the dish. Thank you. And you brought milkshakes. Yeah. We have a identifies variety of stuff. A light meal. Very light meal yes. First up we have to have a cocktail. What better in the morning than a cocktail. So we have a disorono sour. Pretty refreshing. Next up we have our brussels sprouts, french fries, onion rings, a couple of great burgers, a black tap burger salad, some cream corn and, like i said thats oreo cookie milkshake and nutella. Burgers are really special. I feel like i would order the burger, salad, and a diet coke. You and every woman who comes into the restaurant. Talk about your background. It must have been interesting growing up with a father and grandmother who are professional chefs. Im a Third Generation new york city chef. It doesnt mean my grandmother had a great recipe for lasagna. She was a real deal professional chef, 1964 had her own restaurant in times square and she was listed in craig claibornes guide as a posh restaurant and a critics choice in 1964. So ive got some big shoes to fill. My father followed and then obviously me after that. So here i am today, slinging vegetables and burgers. You went to the Culinary Institute. I did. Its a great story. I received a scholarship. I got accepted. I went to my father and i said dad, pop, im going to go to the Culinary Institute. He said youre not going there, im not paying that kind of money. Ill teach you here for free. I said but dad, youve got to let me go. No, youre not going. So one day, a woman from the Culinary Institute of america came into the restaurant and she said, are you cooking this food . He said no my sons in the kitchen. She came in the kitchen and shook my hand and said whatever i can do to get you into the school, im going to do it. She got me the scholarship to go. How did you get from there to meeting donald trump . I got a strange phone call one day saying he was looking for a chef. I met him, walked in the room. Just like tv youre hired. Okay, what am i doing . I spent the next six years opening up all of his hotels. Whats he like as a boss . He was great. He treated me like a son. It was a great experience. And i learned a lot. When did that decision happen for you professionally then that you thought this is wonderful, but i really want to go on my own . When i was about 30 i won my first michelin star. I realize, okay, this is my launching you know my platform to go do what i need to do. I had been traveling the world and the country working for donald for many years. I said you know what, lets go home to new york and start opening restaurants he wasnt so happy when i left, but it was like spreading my wings. Back home i came and all the restaurants you spoke about i opened. Thats a lot of work in a very short amount of time. Yeah, yeah. I dont sleep. We know the feeling. What made you want to open a burger joint . It was a nostalgic play. When i was a kid, my father used to do two things. Close restaurant on tuesdays and go to chinatown, or wed always be on the hunt for the best burger. We always loved a cheeseburger deluxe. I moved to soho and i was Walking Around the streets trying to find something to eat. I felt like i couldnt find it. So it was like my mission to recreate a modern luncheonette with a soho vibe. I just took a classical american burger, gave it high Quality Ingredients and a little bit of a twist. Like our greg norman which is a kobe beef burger with buttermilk. We want to ask you if you could have this meal with any person past or present, who would that be . It would have to be my father. That would be the most special meal i could ever have. Some beautiful pictures of you guys together. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for coming, chef joe isidori. For more, head to our website at cbsthismorning. Com.
