I love him just as i raised him, you know, since he was six and a half years old. Weve been through so many things together as a family. Reporter last wednesday at the busy intersection around 5 00 a. M. , a driver hit eduardo as he was riding his bicycle home from work. It was only his third day of his new job as a bakery but the driver left the scene. If it was an accident, and he didnt know, just come forward. And face, you know, the consequences. Reporter family members say eduardo is an avid sports fan and love the giants. They say the best way to describe him is that hes respectful of others. Now theyre struggling to come to terms with how this could happen to him. We want to see him walk and talk and be back to normal. And not in a coma or not on life support. The family is asking for prayers and they want justice. My theory of life is that he has destroyed my family. Were not going to be the same. Im not going to be the same. Reporter the family says doctors have given them two options. Take eduardo off life support or move him to a rehab facility. So doctors have not have told the family hes not likely to survive. The family refuses to give up hope. Ive reached out to police about Surveillance Video from that intersection. And to ask them about a suspect vehicle description. So far i have not heard back. Management released a statement saying the investigation took place near the jessie street instrument entrance to bloomingdale. The body was found in a mall stairwell in that vicinity. A Street Vendor describes what he saw from police first arriving. Out here popping some kettle corn. And three or four cop cars came speeding up to the curb and stopped. And theres a big suv that had pulled up and three cops got out of the car with machine guns drawn. And ran into the mall. The victim is only described as a white man in his 30s. All lanes of interstate 80 were shut down for 30 minutes this evening after a truck slammed into a disabled car. The Highway Patrol says that car broke down along eastbound 80, just past the junction where highway 37 the truck driver said he didnt see the disabled car. The valley fire killed four people and destroyed more than 1300 homes in lake simone and napa county. Today we learned what caused it. Cal fire says faulty wiring for hot tub is to blame. This afternoon cal fire investigators say theyve determined the cause was a homeowners faulty electrical hookup to a hot tub. Investigators say the temperature of the faulty connection was almost 2000 degrees fahrenheit. The valley fire was caused by faulty residential electrical connection. The investigation uncovered evidence that a residential electrical connection sparked and ignited surrounding dry grass. Reporter ktvu visited that home in cobb a few days after the fire began last september. The home suffered only minor fire damage but others werent as lucky. Police in berkeley are investigating two recent robberies related to the pokemon go smartphone app. In each case the victim was walking and distracted by the game. The first robbery happened on july 12 on dana street when two people followed a woman playing pokemon go knocked her to the ground, and took off with her smartphone. Two weeks later robbers targeted a man playing the game at Civic Center Park. One of the men punched the victim in the face, grabbed his phone and jumped into a waiting car and took off. Police arrested two suspects in connection with that robbery. That the robbers in the first case are still on the loose. At this point it appears as though they are crimes of opportunity. Somebody has seen really at a distance, they sort of stand out like a candle in the dark. Last week another man playing pokemon go also at Civic Center Park was targeted in that case, the victim was able to hold onto his phone. Had a similar story from San Francisco where a robbery suspect is behind bars accused of trying to steal a smartphone from a man who was playing pokemon go. Police say 23yearold Demario Evans stole a mans phone as the man walked along 17th street. Investigators say the victim chased evans but evans reached into his pocket claim to have a gun. The victim got the attention of Police Officers who were on patrol, they arrested evans on robbery charges. In the end it turned out he was not carrying a gun. Rail officials have approved funding for upgrades to the caltrain system on the peninsula and the eventual arrival of bullet trains. The highspeed Rail Authority approved 713 million to electrify the track along the peninsula. 84million to elevate the track at three busy crossings in san mateo. This is just one piece of the puzzle for the 2 billion caltrain modernization project. Caltrain hopes to have electric trains running in 2020.
