Has 37 , john kasich less than 8 . On the democratic side, Bernie Sanders was the winner in indiana, he had 52 of the vote to 47 for Hillary Clinton. But the wind doesnt do a whole lot to move the needle in his favor. Since they still will share the states 83 delegates. Jana katsuyama is here now and tonight for the first time the rnc is calling donald trump the presumptive nominee. Jana . Reporter what a night, really we saw a dramatic shift in this president ial race, ted cruzs unexpected decision to suspend his campaign has effectively cleared the way for donald trump. [ cheering ] reporter ted cruz, one of the last republican candidates standing between donald trump and the nomination, stood down tuesday night. With a heavy heart, but with boundless optimism, for the longterm future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign. Reporter a surprising concession from the renegade conservative texas senator who had tangled with trump over who is more of a washington outsider. We had a tremendous victory tonight. Reporter trump was flush with a double victory in indiana and being named the presumptive nominee by the rnc shortly after crews cruz conceded. I dont know if he likes me or not, but he is one hell of a competitor. He is a tough, smart, guy. Reporter speaking in new york, trump toned down his talks praising former foes and setting his sights on democrats and the general election. Were going to win. Were going to win in november. Yeah Bernie Bernie reporter Bernie Sanders also surprised with an upset over Hillary Clinton in indianas democratic primary. Speaking from louisville kentucky, the 74yearold senator, robust, rebilling and still resonating with the millennials who surrounded him on stage made no mention of clinton but he drew a clear contrast with trump on illegal immigration as two undocumented young men came on stage, embracing sanders and his message. The American People understand that coming together always trumps dividing us up. [ cheering ] reporter Hillary Clinton gave no speech but also took on trump saying on her twitter feed tonight, donald trump is the presumptive gop nominee, chip in now if you greg if you agree we cant let him become president. John kasich made no comments tonight about his campaign. But really, frank and julie, he was trailing so its hard to see him with any kind of path forward now. Interesting to see when and if he calls his campaign quits. Thank you. With tonights victory in indiana, donald trump thats 51 delegates to his total. He now has 1047 delegates and only needs 190 more to reach the 1237 that are required to win the gop nomination. On the democratic side, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders will share indianas delegates, with superdelegates included, clinton is now fewer than 200 delegates shy of winning her partys nomination, Bernie Sanders has 1399. Now to analysis of cruzs decision to withdraw and where it leaves the race for the white house, joining us from petaluma, political analyst brian sobel, brian, is ted cruz dropping out good for the Republican Party . Can they rally around donald trump and come together . Is that what you see happening here . Youll see that more happening now, frank, theres just one person standing other than john kasich and hes a nonfactor at this point. This week as opposed to last week, donald trump is the actual presumptive nominee. All right. Weve seen the stop trump movement. Do you think that opposition now is going to begin to melt away for donald trump . It has to, julie, because theres no other place to go. Hes going to end up with the number of delegates he needs, going into the convention. And so the people who dont want donald trump are going to have to take the decision to stay home on election day, or support somebody else possibly, jumping over the line and supporting the democratic nominee. Brian, we saw a toned down donald trump tonight, is this what you think were going to see in the future, or do you think donald trump will stick with what got him this far which was donald trump essentially being donald trump . He will bifurcate it, hes going to tone down his rhetoric around republicans who heard him talk about cruz tonight being a tough competitor and hes going to do what hes been doing all along, in terms of how he engages the democrats and eventually quite probably Hillary Clinton. Brian, for for the first time weve seen a new nationwide poll showed trump up two points on Hillary Clinton. Do you think he can beat her in november . Hes going to need a really Diverse Group of American Voters to come together to elect him president of the united states, but julie, the thing to remember is that hillary still has all the same issues today that shes had all through this campaign. Her likability is just not there for a lot of voters. And so they become ambivalent. This is a very momentous time in modern american political history. An outsider in donald trump and an outsider in Bernie Sanders really are in the mix, one has won the nomination, one says hes going to the convention. And that particularly hurts Hillary Clinton. It is certainly a very interesting race that is only going to get more interesting as we continue on down the line here. Toward the Gop Convention and the Democratic National convention. Brian sobel, thank you. Coming up next in the race for the white house, democratic primary this saturday in guam, then may 10, republican primary in nebraska. But how pumped up they are going to the Fourth Quarter. Different story in the fourth. Enter festus ezeli. Maybe his best game of the year. Eight points off the bench, 44 from the floor. You can see the Energy Change hands. A 204 smoking run by the warriors. Klay thompson drains a three. Catch and shoot with 5 32 left in the Fourth Quarter. Clay had 27, only 514. But inbounds, look at draymond, vicious on the baseline. 17 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists. Four blocks. Everybodys feeling it, draymond, unreal. Shaun livingston in the final moments, here is the exclamation, up top, Andrea Iguodala who was also sensational, 69. The warriors witness going away, 11099. Damian lillard the local product, 25 points, none of them in the Fourth Quarter. The way it looked to me, it was kind of like they didnt know what hit them in the Fourth Quarter. Remember game one, portland came out slow, tonight they start fast, they dont know what to do, joe. Everything they try, it aint going to work against the warriors. Reporter mark, you and i talked about it in the pregame, the fact that game two of a series always has a different dynamic. No question about the fact that it started out that way tonight. The warriors couldnt make a shot and the blazers, everything they put up was going in. I looked up at the stat sheet, the blazers were shooting 67 . The warriors were in the 20s. When the warriors needed to make shots down the stretch, the exactly did that. The other thing that has characterized this team all year long is the deep bench, festus ezeli had not been much of a conservator in these playoffs. He was called on tonight and really made a difference as the warriors shut things down defensively in that second half. Actually the Fourth Quarter when they caught the blazers and then past them. Steve kerr very happy with the fact his team was able to hang around and then wait for its run. Festus ezeli was unbelievable for us. Picked me up. I had a sloppy game. He came in and did a hell of a job. So we are deep. Coach went with festus and he was ready, doing what he did tonight, couldnt be happier or prouder of him. [ indiscernible ] the theme have to rely on is our defense. Anytime you are down and trying to make a comeback, it has to start defensively, you have to make stops. And i thought in our run in the Fourth Quarter, we had a lot of guys step up and make big shots and big plays but it was our defense that fueled everything. Reporter that was andrew bogut first actually. And crediting festus ezeli, his fellow center. Its interesting how that rotation has worked, they would with anderson varejao, he wasnt that effective, Marreese Speights nondefective tonight so go to festus ezeli, he takes care of things. So i would have to say that as far as the blazers are concerned, this is a devastating loss to be in the lead almost the entire game, then get cut. Well see what happens as the series shifts to portland. Back to you. It does shift and weirdly enough they dont play again until saturday. Maybe well send you up there. Back east, basically a foregone conclusion, lebron and cleveland will represent. If anyone could pull an upset, think about it, it is lebrons old buddy, dwyane wade. The miami heat off to a 10 lead against toronto. Look at this, heat up three, 3. 3 seconds left. Toronto, kyle lowry, halfcourt at the buzzer to send it into overtime. That was just an incredible shot. Dwyane wade is bummed as you look again, just a man hes. And he makes it. But in the overtime, again by three, 10 seconds left, Demar Derozan is stripped of the ball. But dwyane wade will get it and yeah, hes got young legs there. Gets it to drop, fouled, it counts. 10296. The heat go up in the series 1 0. Nobody better out on the road than the sharks in the nhl but the script gets flipped on them tonight. Plenty of frustration to go around. From the looks of this, you might think the story from the giants is frustration too. March 17, seems like a long time ago. The last time the sharks lost out on the road but tonight in nashville, producers were like, not on our ice. Plenty of work yet to be done for the menu teal. For the men in teal. Scotty marlowe out on the break, about ready to get his second goal of the series, outpacing the predators for the net, the sharks take a 10 lead into the first intermission. After that, all nashville, secondperiod now tied 11. And ahead for good, and there you go, they had two more in the third. And there is your final, 41. The sharks find themselves still leading 21. Somebody else had to win around here and the giants will take that. Thank you very much. But not the way you figure. In one of the best hitting ballparks, basically a pitchers duel. I think she was wearing an orange ribbon in her hair. First inning you figure offense is going to be no problem. Hunter pence, fair down the leftfield line, got himself a double, scores a run, 10. Pence was the National League player of the week. Offensively and defensively. Coming in, tight for Jeff Samardzija. As you have another look at it, 11 ballgame in the eighth. Kelby tomlinson, a swinging bunt. A little chopper is going to do the job. 21 lead, Gregor Blanco with an rbi single. Look at Jeff Samardzija with runners on, that is your 90 million pitcher right there. Fortunately he was on the ball on the mound. Eight innings, three hits, one run. Sonny gray tonight lit up, seven runs, 11 hits. The as lost 8to 82 to the mariners. Thank you. Good night. This is violet. Shes been waiting for this moment for awhile. A moment other kids wouldnt think twice about. Her first bowl of cheerios. Because now that cheerios are gluten free, violet, and many others are enjoying their first bowl today. Okay, heres the number for poison control. Ask for carol. Honey, were gonna be fine. Enjoy your reunion. Oh, itd be a lot more fun if you were there. I really am sorry about that. I just cant miss the chance to bowl on jays team. Mnh. Thats why i ordered these glide rights. If you break em in properly, theyre supposed to give you a completely frictionless thud groans if im being honest, the reunion might be a little more fun if phil isnt there. Otherwise, i spend the whole weekend telling him whos who and explaining inside jokes. And if all that explaining is going out, the alcohol is not going in. Hey, mom. Before you go, you have to sign this for school. Mm. You dont have to read it. Its all boilerplate. Honey, i am running really late. whispers ask your dad. Right here, buddy. Suhh thud i have to get the letter signed because i failed my assignment on the revolutionary war. I recreated the battle of bunker hill using one of my old science projects. Seemed pretty revolutionary to me. The brave patriots made their way up the hillside, prepared for whatever
