Today the Police Department publicly released the names of the four officers who were involved in the deadly shooting which happened in Bernal Heights park. They are Sergeant Jason sawyer, officer roger morris, officer richard shift and officer nathan schu. The officers shot and killed Alejandro Nieto after he allegedly pointed a weapon at them. The judge has ordered that the names of the officers be released as part of nietos parents lawsuit. Investigators say a transient identified as Steven Lee Mason approached the victim and started a fight. Mason allegedly kicked the man on the head with a hammer and gardening cheers. Police say mason had been ordered to stay away from union plaza before. The exact motive for the attack is unclear. It just appears these two have cross wasnt intentional by the victim, the talk of the person, the suspect just went up to him and started talking and a fight ensued. Some incredible developing news tonight out of kentucky where a 7yearold girl walked away from a deadly plane crash. It happened near the border with illinois. Four people were killed. The little girl was the only survivor. A near by homeowner called 911 after the girl actually walked up to her house and said she had been in a plane crash. Police says she had nonlife threatening injuries. The plane was flying to illinois from key west florida when it went down. Now to the latest on that plane crash in the java sea. Two large objects have been found near each other at the bottom of the sea. Earlier today a total of 21 bodies were found. That brings the total number that have now been recovered to 40. But the bodies of the 132 others on the plane are still missing. An American Naval ship has pulled out more than half of the victims. The winds and heavy seas keep moving. The debris and search area have been expanded. But they still have not found the plane an its black boxes. I can speak about the search, but as for for the fuselage or black box i cannot give you any information. They are in about 90 feet of water. The coast guard ordered the tahoe to stop operations in lake tahoe. But this is unrelated to a trouble they had on a new years eve cruise. Theres some high clouds that will spill in on sunday. The weather stays out of our area through the weekend and into next week. Then things change a little bit. In the current situation, we do have cool numbers just a degree above freezing in napa. 34 in fairfield. Already have frost forming out in these inland bay valleys. You dont have to be freezing as you no to have frost form. Its about how cold the surface gets. Winds shields tend to get very cold. Frost will form on those winds shields. Look for frost and look for freezing icy conditions throughout the bay area especially inland. So the way this shapes up is that cool air came in. Its going to shift. Its shifting as we speak. But it will completely shift by tomorrow. So itll still be chilly but not as cold. And during the day this High Pressure will take over. Temperatures will warm. Its not the traditional warming trend, not tradition, its not the Warming Trends weve seen in the past but were going to go to 80. By sunday we could easily be in the low 60s. By monday and tuesday, maybe mid60s. Maybe upper 60s. Thats the dry climate were going to be. As we head into sundays, clouds increase, this will warm up the overnight lows for sunday morning and monday morning, rain stays north. But watch what happens in the long range model.
