San francisco voters are going to have an opportunity to weigh in on a proposal that calls for a 2cent per ounce tax on soda and sugary drinks. The liquid sugar has been shown to have more of complications around health with type two diabetes. Reporter the proposal would levy a tax of 2cents per ounce on sugary drinks including soda, Energy Drinks and some juices. At the fizzery the tax would add several cents to every dollar. The American Beverage Association is expected to spend millions of the dollars to try to defeat it. One supervisor says the tax would hurt some people more than others. This time the recall is impacting 80,000 older model suvs. 2006 to 2007 jeep commanders and 2005 to 2007 jeep grand cherokees are being recalled. Two investigates has new details tonight of a fire back in march that killed a San Francisco mother and her 3year old son. The San Francisco Housing Authority says someone dismantled the Smoke Detectors family apartment. But there are conflicting reports about exactly what happened just weeks before that deadly fire. Reporter new Surveillance Video shows the quick moving fire that killed mom esther and her son santana williams. I dont think only it could have been prevented but it should have been prevented and unfortunately it will happen again. Reporter two investigate obtained records that showed a request two weeks before the fire to fix a nonworking Smoke Detector. The work order grants permission for an electrician to enter even if no one is home. Still according to more Housing Authority records the electrician never entered the unit and the Smoke Detector was not repaired. An attorney for the Housing Authority says an unidentified woman turned the electrician away at the door three times. So we knocked on the door, and he was not allowed access. Reporter the Housing Authority spokesman said that an investigator hired found three Smoke Detectors in a drawer. They knew back on march 21st they were not working.
