Breaking news out of sacramento where you see Davis Medical Center is treating a suspected ebola patient transferred from Mercy General Hospital this morning. The Sacramento County Health Department is aware of the situation. They have a dedicated isolation room for suspected and confirmed ebola patients. The Medical Center remains open and continues to operate as normal. New details now about the man killed in yesterdays Mission District fire that tore through a three story multiple use building and now that building has been red tagged. A few hours ago we heard from San Franciscos mayor and fire chief as they toured the burnt debris left behind. Good afternoon sal. Good afternoon. Theres still dozens of people here at the scene who used to live in the building we are showing you right now. Buses are allowed omission street but no other vehicles are. At some point they should allow cars omission street again. Some people are here to watch and some lived in the building. Last night the fire moved quickly and spread through a common attic. People inside heard no fire alarms and at least one of the fire escapes was not functioning properly according to the people inside the building. The fire was reported at 7 and huge flames and smoke detained seven hours later. The firefighters found an unresponsive person inside described as a middle age man who died pronounced dead at the scene. Five people were injured taken to the hospital. One of them was a firefighter suffering from dehydration. All but one has been released told by fire officials. One woman says she was having dinner with her daughter and was unaware of the fire. When i opened my front door it was pitch black. Everything was black and i started panicking and i closed my door and hit the window to try to get out and i couldnt because my window has bars and if i jumped through the other one i would have landed in glass stuff and the hell with this i grabbed my cell phone and i started flashing it in the hallway screaming for help. Fire chief hayes white and mayor ed lee came to survey the damage and spoke with displaced residents. They were there shortly after the fire began. Fire officials dont know the cause of death for the one person who died. That will be determined by the medical examiner. As for the 17yearold daughter she says she is unsure of their future. I dont know what im going to do. My husband went away for vacation and cant get a flight right now. We have to wait to see what happens and start from the bottom. There was one bright spot of news a family pet was found in the rubble and reunited with the owner but theres still a lot of questions. This building is very old one of the oldest in the mission and some people have also been asking why it seems these buildings are going up. A lot of these building with low income residents, a couple people who didnt want to go on camera asked me it seems like a coincidence that laugh these buildings who house moderate to low income people are going up and that is going to be a question for investigators. San Francisco Police are investigating a crash that seriously injured a woman who was crossing the street. The sun may have blinded the driver at around 830 on brotherhoodway. The woman was hit by a car turning onto the 1 on ramp. The driver said the sun was in his eyes and had difficult seeing her. She was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident. San Francisco Police have made no arrested in the suitcase with human remains inside. Police received a 911 call yesterday reporting the suitcase left on 11th street between market and howard. The medical examiner has confirmed they are human. Investigators also found additional evidence nearby that may be linked. Theres other types of debris that are in the general area so iits unclear whether or not its related. They hope to release more information on the case later today. We are getting an inside look at the daring smash and grab robbery at the Wells Fargo Museum in San Francisco. Surveillance photo shows the stolen suv that rammed through the front doors early tuesday. Three robbers held a Security Guard at gunpoint and stole historic gold nuggets from a display case and escaped in a sedan. The value of the gold rush air nuggets is estimated at 10,000. A shooting aimed at county sheriffs deputies has led to the arrest of four people and the discovery of two major marijuana growing operations. It started yesterday while two undercover deputies were investigating a building in oakland. As they were leaving a man began shooting at their vehicle. They were able to get away and call for back up. About computes and Oakland Police returned to the building they discovered a pot grow and arrested the man who shot at the deputies but it was a blocked door thousands watching led them to another discovery. A Hercules High School has notified parents about a school accused of selling marijuana laced cookies on campus. The 16yearold brought the cookies to school tuesday to sell to other students. A School Resource officer says the student was carrying atopper ware container with 17 pot laced cookies inside. Its not known if any of them have been sold. Hes charged of possessing marijuana for sale and child endangerment. State investigators have seized computers and other items after searching the home of former Utility Commission chief michael. The state department of Public Health says there are 95 confirmed cases 79 of them in california and 52 linked directly to disney parks. The state lab in richmond handles testing for every county in the state. The lab is flooded with samples waiting to be tested.
