obama leaves for moffett field in about 10 to 25 minutes from now. reporting live from mountain view, kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. >> reporter: moffett field is where we are right now and this is where president obama debarted -- departed less than 24 hours -- excuse me. this is where he arrived less than 24 hours ago. this is where he will depart. this is air force one behind us. they have the door to the plane open. parked next to it is a security vehicle. there is a lot of security around here. if we turn the camera around, we can show you our setup. we're showing you the six-foot riser and this is the ames research center at moffet field, and this is where we've seen several security personnel, police officers, local nasa security out here since we've been out here at 7:30 this morning. this area is closed to the general public. we went through security screening at 8:00 this morning to be here. however, it's still a high security area. if you look at the top of the building behind us, you can see two police sharp shooters. a short time ago we saw them with their binoculars. the president is scheduled to depart from here at 12:25. however, we don't know how prompt he will be. we're told that yesterday when he arrived, he was about 45 minutes late. but we've been informed that his event has wrapped up and the president son his way in the motor came -- president is on his way in the motorcade back here. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. lady gaga was at one of the fund-raisers last night, she was one of the 75 guests who paid $35,000 to attend the event at the home of facebook's chief operating officer. she said she wanted to meet with the president to discuss her concerns about bullying. it's not known if the two had that discussion raft night headquarters in palo alto later this afternoon. they will be taking questions from and audience of facebook employees and other guests. political analysts say today's town hall event is one way republicans are trying to reach out to younger voters. just a little over an hour ago, longshoremen at ports up and down the west coast briefly walked off the job. here's how things looked at the port of oakland a short time ago, during the 15-minute long walkout. the workers were expressing solidarity with three longshoremen arrested during a demonstration last week in longview, washington. those three have roo -- those -- those three are charged with assaulting police. in turn, the union has sued the police alleging brutality. the ntsb released its full report into its investigation into the deadly gas pipeline explosion in san bruno last september. as it did in its original report last month, the ntsb put the blame squarely on pg&e for the last -- blast. the report said in 1996, theualtity installed a substan -- utility installed a substandard pipe and it failed to test the pipe for weakness. the report also criticizes the federal transportation department for weak oversight of the pipeline operation. pg&e issued a statement in response to the statement saying -- >> it also said pg&e is implementing recommended changes as part of a larger effort to make its operations safer. the state and oakland police are now investigating a patient death at alta bates medical. a nurse gave a nonprescribed dosage to a cancer patient, judith ming of oakland. an autopsy will be performed within the next day. the hospital hired 500 temporary nurses last week. staff nurses return to work tomorrow. authorities have released the identity of a bicyclist killed this past weekend in the oakland hills. investigators say 53-year-old allen douglas lee was riding in foggy conditions down a steep and winding road when he lost control and fell off his bike. a forward focus traveling up the hill crashed into him near the corner of claremont avenue and grizzly peak boulevard. the driver was not cited. a manhunt continues for the driver of a stolen van in the east bay. authorities began dais chasing the van in san lorenzo. the vehicle hit the center median and ended up in the center of the median. the highway was shot counsel for two about hours causing a traffic -- shut down and killed after police say he threatened him with a gun. police say the driver left the scene and they continued to look for him. oakland police have identified a man killed in a shooting over the weekend. police say the man was working on his car saturday morning, when a man shot him point blank. police tell the "oakland tribune" they have a motive in the case but they are not releasing details. so far, no arrests have been made. the oakland school board this week is set to consider closing five schools. the schools on the chopping block are lakeview, lazeere, maxwell, marshal and sash -- and santa fe. this list goes into effect this year. the school board will review the list tomorrow but a final decision is not expected until october 26th. it's day vau ju in washington -- rasmus is live from that location. allie? >> reporter: well, the presidential motorcade just pulled up about three minutes ago. you can see the president going up to air force one. a short time ago, i don't know if you missed it but he did stop to greet and shake hands with a family member. it looks like this is going to be an on-time departure. the president's air force one was supposed to depart at 12:25. now you are looking at the family that is walking away. this is a family. we don't know who they are but they were out here on the tarmac, brought out here on the tarmac. they were able to shake hands with president obama and now they are being led away out here on the tarmac at moffett field. but again, president obama has boarded air force one. the scheduled departure is 12:25 this afternoon. this is a very short visit for the president. he arrived here at moffett moffett field less than 24 hours, 4:00 yesterday. his -- his plane was about 45 minutes late yesterday but it appears today it will be departing on time. the president wrapped up a town hall meeting at lincoln this morning and then a short time after that. he was on his way there, the motorcade just pulled up in the last five minutes. we watched the president, go up the stairs and board air force one. it looks like they are going to clear this area and air force one is going to take off from here. allie
