This is a tarp off of the land below him that has slid downhill and then talking with him this morning, he says there is about a 15foot gap between his foundation and the frame of the home because the land below it is just siding away. And now timmonsville says that this problem really started a couple of months ago when the land at the very bottom 069 hill started to erode into a creek. And it didnt really hurt the property, they didnt notice anything until just this week. On tuesday, they started to notice the railing sliding down. But wednesday, there was a gap, and it was growing. And they are a family of six, and again, they moved out on friday. Now also, the next door neighbor was told that the house right here, that it is also not safe for them to be there as well. So two families had to be forced out because of this mud slide. Now east bay mud owns the lapped that is orphan the hillside where the mud slide has happened, owns the land here, and he says a soil engineer came out to study the land, but he says since then, in his last email from them, it was on thursday. And he is really disappointed and frustrated by the lack of responsiveness from east bay mud in getting the problem fixed, because it is technically on their land. Now we have reached out to east bay mud this morning to try to ask them questions, we have not heard back from them get. All right, thanks, a lot of, allie. Well, the average girl spends between 500 and 1000 on their prom. It is not just the dress, but the limo. The project is giving away dresses every weekend through march 25th. All right, well, still to come, Mother Nature is hitting the bay area. We have team coverage, the comage done andthe damage done and the rest of the day. And coming up at 9 00 p. M. , more on the Walnut Creek Hotel that was evacwaitedevacuated after reports of a substance natomas was making people sick. Stay with us. Some crashes and downed trees. Days of non stop rain continues to cause problems for home open owners. Homeowners. We are live in the east bay. And the damage didnt stop there, we are seeing Power Outages across the bay area, especially in the north bay, the latest details on what you can expect, you are watching mornings on 2. No. Is ktvu mornings on 2, weekend. Well, welcome, it is sunday, march 13th. Good morning, everyone. We start this morning with fox 2 team coverage. We have Weather Authority rosemary tracking the weather. But first, we have our allie at a mud slide. Reporter well, ross, this mud slide happened early they are week, just above the trail. It is a paid trail that runs through the neighborhood where we are. We are on augusta drive. And now two homes were affected by the landslide. One, you are looking at right here, and the one next door. Where from where we are up at the top of the hill, you can see the tarp that is set up, they had to set it up earlier this week to try to keep the land from sliding downhill. But the homeowner came back this morning to and he says that the erosion has gotten worse. He and his family moved out on friday. There is new a 50 czar foot gap between the foundation and the frame of this house. Now we came to the property to look at the fence and the railing, it has broken off and there you can see whereand you can see where the land has slid away. It actually started a few months ago and broke up part of the paved trail, which is just below this house. But the problem didnt affect his property, he says, until early they are week, on tuesday, he started to notice the railing on bus back deck slidingon his back deck sliding down, and now, more soil has slipped away and the gap has grown. Lower foundation of my house is now about five to 15 feet below the frame of the house. So, the upper, the upper, roughly twothirds, which is still in place, for now, it is holding that up. And it is sort of just hanging by the foundation from the earth has dropped quite a bit. Reporter now, a soil engineer came out here a few days ago. And the man was told it was no longer safe for his family to live in the house because of the mud slide. They are a family of six and now they are staying in a hotel. Also, the next door neighbor was told their home was not safe and they should probably move out. East bay mud owns the hillside below the property, the hill slide that is slipping away and they were contacted this week, but the homeowner is frustrated because they sent out soil experts earlier in the week and the last he heard from them was that they were still studying the problem, and that was on thursday. Obviously, he is frustrate that had east bay mud n view, is not doing enough to prevent this problem from getting worse. So we have contacted east bay mud to ask them questions but we have not heard back. And now rosemary is here, she is checking out the latest on the conditions, the non stop rain is caughting problems. We need itis causing problems. We need it but we have not got and break. Yes, you are right. It is a lot. And at this point, you can see that the hill is wet. And so the some pointand at some point it is going to run off and we start to see the slides. And the minor slides, they can go fast and far. So please be careful, especially the east bay hills, fortunate north bay hills, just the bay area. And more rain to come and wind to come as well. So we could see more trees down today and Power Outages today. This is as we roll through your sunday. And now a look right now, the moderate rain has been over the southern edge of the bay area this morning. And it continues, and it is getting closer. Take a look at the mountains, it is stretching into campbell and san jose, moderate rain is falling here, shifting along the peninsula a little bit, some of the orange cells, the yellow, reporting any where from a rainfall rate of three tenths to maybe half an inch per hour. It is swinging through, it is not just stalled, so that is good news. But again, we have the good amount of rain out there in the bay area. Union city, fremont, and then it stretches to the north of us where we have some along the east bay shoreline into the oakland hills, and along highway 24. Over the north bay a bit of a break this morning, but it is now back on and it is over the north bay as well. We continue to watch the Russian River, expected to really top off a few feet from flood stage tomorrow. So that is some good news. The Flash Flood Watch for the entire north bay will continue today, in the shade of pink, it is a High Surf Advisory for the entire coast and we have large waves for today. Getting in closer, again, free the coast, into our valley, and our north bay hills, we have the Flash Flood Watch that has been on now for a few days and it will continue until 6 00 p. M. This afternoon and thes in has decided this sliver here, fairfield, you will have a wind advisory with wind gusts at 45 Miles Per Hour. So the advisories continue for another day, the wet, windy weather for our sunday. We start to dry out getting into monday. And then a few dry days ahead of us and a warming trend. More on that coming up. Well, crews have already been busy cleaning up from the damage from the latest round of storms. In San Francisco, they were busy unclogging the storm drains. And the trees collapsed there, shutting down highway 1 in both directions. That is bear valley road. And then a tree fell onto a home, or actually right near it and took out several power lines. Pg around e cannot get to the pg and e cannot get to the lines yet. They cannot do anything until you remove the tree. I told them it is too much. But he said this is the rule. In San Francisco, the city has hundreds of flood barriers up in trouble areas as a precaution, and in folsom, it appeared that the barriers were poring. This morning, crews in pacifica will continue to tear down the Apartment Building that has been on the crumbling cliff. Well yesterday, we were live as demolition work got under way at 320, the work is expected to take four or five days, the building haas been vacant since 2010. That is when the cliff started to fall into the water below and the recent el nino storms made that erosion worse. It is very unsafe. I feel if the structure stayed here, we would not be able to walk on the beach safely. The city tore down the building last month. And a building that was yellow tagged in january could be the next to go. And you can get the latest on weather conditions wherever you go, just search for us in the app store. Last year, people could run through a fire arch and then run under a rain cloud, where last year, we were not getting as much rain as we are this year.
