Here in the bay area, expect to see a lot of chp officers out. They will be cracking down drivers who break the law. Coming up on the 9, we will talk with one officer about the chp maximum enforcement. Now, expect delays if youre flying out of sfo this Holiday Weekend. A runway repaving project was supposed to be on hold tomorrow and sunday as we look at the live pictures of sfo. However the crews fell behind on their work on the schedule. That means one runway will be closed for construction work. Officials say they expect delays of 30 to 90 minutes and they also expect dozens of cancellations. Here is the question of the day for you. You can see a little bit of crowding on 80 near the 580 interchange and golden gate fuels racetrack. Not that bad. When you get to the bay bridge, you will realize today is not a typical commute day. A lot of people may be on the road. Getting up now and trying to get out of town or maybe going at noon or so. And of course some will be going this afternoon. So it will be a busy travel day because of the long weekend coming up. Were not expecting traffic jams on monday in the morning either. Lets move along and take a look at 880. We had earlier crashes. Those are gone and traffic has recovered. The silicon valley, no slow traffic getting up to the west valley. At 7 05, lets go back to the desk. Thank you, sal. An attempted burglary in gilroy led to a shooting. Police are at a home on irvin court that. Is where ktvus Christien Kafton is as well with an update this morning. Christien. Reporter yeah, pam. We have a lot of new information for you. But first lets go ahead and show you the continuing developments on irvin court in gilroy. Officers still on scene. Now, about half hour ago, we watched as the officers went inside of the home. Lets go ahead and show you the video that we have from a little earlier this morning and that we shot overnight as the incident unfolded. Again, we did watch the officers go into the home. At this point in time, investigators now believe that they have all of the suspects in custody. Theyre going through this home to do their Due Diligence to make sure there isnt one more outstanding suspect. They believe that at least one of the suspects in this case had some tie to this home here on irvin court. Here is what we learned about the investigation and how it started. Officers were called to a nearby neighborhood for a call about suspicious people in the neighborhood. Its a neighborhood that has seen a number of auto burglaries in the recent past. And when they were on that call, they received another call about shots fired. And what they learned was that a homeowner in the area had gone out, seen two men trying to break into a car. He interrupted them, told them to get away. In the process of that, a third man came up and shot that man in the leg. And we have a report from police about exactly how that went down. Went down. The victim disclosed that he was outside and he witnessed the suspects break into a car. At that time, he confronted them. The two that were breaking into the car. At that time, a third unknown person came out and shot him multiple times. Reporter now, again, police say that when they arrived, as they were doing that initial investigation and taking care of that individual, they managed to find one suspect on the scene. They transported the man who had been shot. Again were learning multiple times in the leg. He has transported to an area hospital for his injuries and is expected to recover. One man was arrest add the scene and Police Tracked other suspects here to this scene. Once they arrived here, they were able to track down two other individuals. So at this time, police have three people in custody. Theyre telling me it is a mix of adults and juveniles. Again, there is still continued Police Activity here on irvin court. At this time, though, it appears that police say they are simply doing their Due Diligence to make sure there are no more outstanding suspects in this case. It appears that all suspects are in custody. The man who interrupted the burglary, it appears that he will recover from his injuries. Okay. Boy, still quite an active scene we can see behind you. Police in san jose released new Surveillance Video they want you to see, hoping to track down two suspects in the stabbing last sunday of a Football Player from san jose state. Police say the victim, chad miller, was with friends near post and south first streets when there was a fight. The suspects had a knife. One of them stabbed miller. Miller was rushed to the hospital. He is expected to survive. Investigators also released a few still images of the two men. Take a look. One of the suspects is described as an asian or latino man in his 20s, about 56, 170 pounds with a mustache, beard and ponytail. The second suspect described as latino in his 20s with hair that is shaved on the sides. He also has tattoos on both arms. Now to the investigation into the manchester terror attack. Police arrested a man during a raid at a barbershop. Neighbors report seeing computer tablets and a router being seized. Manchester police since the attack on monday, they have arrested ten people. And so it is sort of getting infused in the community. A month ago one of the downtown businesses boho had one of the bands play. It all gets excitement. We want to be sure that our visitors have a great time. Sure. All of the restaurants and shops are ready to have that napa hospitality. That huge influx of people. We talk about it. 40,000 people a day will pack into the napa valley expo. I shouldnt say pack n you like the relaxed atmosphere of bottlerock. Youre not necessarily jammed in there with a whole bunch of strangers. No. This is one of the lounges. So you sit here and relax. Across from us are some of the sky boxes which is a great way to spend bottlerock because you get seats and your drinks and your food. So that is a great way. Next to us is jam cellars. That is part of an experience. Local winery, jam. I want to talk quickly. It is about the music. Some of the headliners this year, maroon 5, they will be headlining tonight. Tonight. Two people recently arrested for selling fruit in san lorenzo may be victims of Human Trafficking. The Sheriffs Office is teaming up with the district attorneys Human Trafficking unit to investigate the case. Vendors sell in the area frequently. Deputies became suspicious after they asked one of the vendors to leave but she refused. They say she appeared to be more afraid of whoever she was working for than she was of being arrested. The Sheriffs Office says they are working on providing information and resources to those vendors. Longshoremen walked off the job yesterday at the port of oakland for several hours, protesting the discovery of a hang mans neuston port property. It was the second noose opportunity to at the port in the last two weeks. The walkout happened yesterday at the ports largest terminal and caused a big backup for container trucks trying to get into the yard. The majority of the people who work at the port are minorities. Very Diverse Group of people. We have on the trucking side, we have 36 different languages spoken. Very diverse. I dont know who would do such a thing. The terminal was reopened about noon. But the backup lasted throughout the rest of the workday. Now a state by the union said in part, quote, the display of nooses at the work site are inexcusable and prohibited conduct. They promise a vigorous investigation. The time is 7 39. New developments in the case of a missing uber driver in San Francisco. Police have found the car they say bee longs to a person of interest in the case. It was found at sfo. It belongs to bob tang, an acquaintance of chhay who has been missing. A woman from the east coast visiting oakland to be in her friends wedding reported that her bridesmaids dress was stolen during a car breakin. It was shipped here by way of the panama canal. It took three years to build and cost 237 million. It was the longest in the world until 1964. It is now the ninth longest in the world. Yes, there was a little bit of controversy leading up to the opening of the project. Because when it was approved back in 2015, it was the middle of the drought. So there were concerns about water conservations and residents in dublin had asked city leaders to scale back the prong because of the concerns. We are now officially out of the drought. The project moved ahead of schedule and will open this weekend. This is a 31,000 square foot park. We are inside of the wave. This tower is the six water slides with twists and turns, different heights to slide down to the bottom. Some look steep. Something that you would see at a regular amusement park. Off to our right is one of the two pools. This one looks like it is meant primarily for lap switching. But there is another indoor pool and a pool next to the splash park. On the other side of where we are is the splash playground meant for kids. It is not on right now. But once it is in full spring, the buckets and fountains will have water for the kids to play in and kid sized water slides there. There is an indoor pool for swimming and playing. A quarter of a mile of highway 1 along the Central Coast is buried under a landslide. One of the biggest in states history. The highway was shut down three weeks ago as a precaution in mob enter a county north of the San Luis Obispo county line. A good thing. There was a landslide. Caltrans is calling this an active landslide. There are boulders throughout the area. They are exploring options for the repair. Caltrans has not said when the road will be repaired and reopened. It is 7 56. Fire crews in stockton investigating a fire that injured one person and damaged five homes. It happened in an area with large wooden pallets near downtown stockton about 5 00 yesterday afternoon. Strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly to nearby homes. Two of the homes were completely destroyed. Three others were damaged. The flame was so intense that there were large plumes of smoke shooting into the sky. It took about three hours to get under control. Arson investigators are trying to determine how the fire started. This happened at irvin court and monterey road. Christien kafton has the latest on the investigation. Reporter Gilroy Police says this is where the incident began. Here. Investigators still on scene piecing together the story. It started around 4 00 this morning with a call of suspicious in the neighborhood. Auto burglars had recently been targeting this area and the shooting happened when a man in the area interrupted a pair of burglars trying to break into a car. The victim disclosed that he was outside and he witnessed the suspects break into a car. At that time, he confronted them. The two that were breaking into the car. At that time, a third unknown person came out and shot him multiple times. Reporter after the shooting, the suspects scattered. Police who were already in the area called for an ambulance for the man who was shot. He is expected to survive the injuries. They caught one suspect in the area. Officers say a number of other suspects ran to another neighborhood about half a mile away. The suspects there have ties to a home they surrounded for hours this morning. They searched that home but did not find any other suspects. At this time, police have multiple suspects in custody. Some adults, some juveniles. Police in san jose released new Surveillance Video in hopes of tracking down two people connected to the stabbing of a San Jose State University Football Player. Chad miller was with friends near post and first streets when a fight broke out last sunday. The men were armed with a knife and one stabbed miller. Miller was transported to the hospital and expected to survive. Investigators also released a few still images of the two men. One of the suspects is an asian or latino male in his 20s. About 175 pounds,56 with a mustache. Now into the investigation into the manchester terror attack. Neighbors report seeing computer tablets and a router being seized. Manchester police say since the attack on monday, they have arrest ten people, eight are still in custody. This morning, we have never seen before footage of the suicide bomber from july 2016. The Sheriffs Office is investigating the case with the Human Trafficking department. The vendors sell in the area frequently. Deputies became suspicious when they asked one of the vendors to leave and she refused but she appeared to be more aphrase of whoever she was working for than she was of being arrested. The Sheriffs Office is working on providing information and resources to the vendors. Longshoremen walked off the job at the time at the port of oakland for several years protesting the discovery of a noose on port property. Union Officials Say it was the second noose found at the port in the last two weeks. The walkout happened yesterday at the Oakland International container terminal. That is the ports largest terminal and it caused a backup for container trucks trying to get into the yard. It was reopened at noon. But the backup lasted throughout the rest of the workday. Now a statement by the union said in part, quote, the display of nooses at the work site are inexcusable and expressly prohibited conduct under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Port officials promise a vigorous investigation. New developments in the case of a missing uber driver in San Francisco. Police have located the car that belongs to a person of interest in the case. It was located at San Francisco international. It belongs to bob taping. He is an awayance of the driver who has been missing for 12 days. Investigators have evidence connecting him to the disappearance. Tang skipped out on a planned interview with investigators and they believe he may have left the country. A man accused of killing a 3yearold girl are on trial for the daughter of kayleigh. Their trials have been heard in the same courtroom but by two jurors. A verdict came back yesterday in krugers case but it will be sealed until the warner jury reaches the verdict. All of the couple wanted to do was get high on meth every day. If convicted, they could get life in prison without parole. The state Health Department believes nacho cheese tainted with botulism came from just one bag t was not found in the other bags tested. The cheese sauce was sold at a gas station near sacramento. One antioch man died. Nine others became sick from that outbreak. One woman is suing the gas station and the maker of the sauce. Her attorney though does expect to add five more people to that lawsuit. A woman visiting oakland to be in her friends wedding says her Bridesmaid Dress was stolen during a car breakin. She had just arrived from massachusetts to be the maid of honor in the wedding. The bride and groom took her to a saloon and parked in the lot across the street. La minutes later they went back to the car and and the window was smashed. People in the neighborhood say thieves regularly target vehicles in parking lots aLong Lake Park avenue. I would say five to ten cars get broken into every night between the lot across the street and then this parking lot right here. Allie rasmus has a look at the way that the wave in dublin. As you were explaining earlier, allie, there have been concerns. A lot of excitement but concerns about the park opening. Reporter yes. And thats because when this park was approved in february of 2015, it was the middle of one of the most droughts the state has had in decades. A lot of people, residents of dublin raised concerns about water conservation. But the plan was approved and two years later it is about ready to open. This is the wave in dublin. Behind us is the tower that has the six water slides. It has two pools including an indoor pool and a splash park. Here to tell us more about the project and the opening this weekend is David Halbert, mayor of the city of dublin. Mayor, you said you were aware that there were concerns about the issue of using a lot of water 480,000 gallons to fill up the two pool. You argued that the town has earned the right to have a park like this. Thank you for having me and covering the opening of the wave. The dublin Aquatic Center. We are very conscious of the fact that we were in a drought two years ago. Our community has waited for over a decade for this pool. And weve also done more than any other community in the state. We recycle 90 of our municipal water use recycled. We save 185 million gals of water gallons of water a year. We thought it was our chance to have fun in the summer. There is a splash ground for kids and an indoor pool that will prevent some evaporation. The roof keeps the heat in as you can tell when you walk inside. We can swim year round. So Senior Citizens with swim even in the middle of winter. Young kids can learn how to swim even when it is raining outside. Why was Something Like this needed for the community . There will be lessons, aquatic aerobics and Something Like that. But there was nothing like this before. We have a smaller pool that is old and not the size, bee fitting of a community that is growing like dublin. In 1998 we started planning for this pool. And now 20 years later were make thanksgiving a reality. In the past two years, costs have escalated. You have a video of a park or a City Employee who got to test out a water slide here called the screamer. Lets show some of the video of that. How does it work . It looks steep. That fire started in an area with large wooden pealets near downtown around 5 00 yesterday afternoon. Strong winds caused the fire to quickly spread to nearby homes. Two homes were completely destroyed. Three others were damaged. The flames were so intense, large flumes of smoke with sent into the sky. It took fire crews about three hours to get it under control. Arson investigators are now trying to figure out exactly what started it. A former soccer coach in union city is in jail accused of molestation. Victor juarez was arrested after Police Received a complaint that he molested an 11yearold girl who he had coached. At the time juarez was working for a private Girls Soccer Team in union city but recently moved to alameda as a Soccer League manager. Detectives say they are investigating to determine if there are any other victims. Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is being laid to rest today in Southern California.
