Yeah, because when the toll plaza gets better, that means the rest of the commutes may follow. Lets look at that for you right now. You can see traffic is moving along the commute here on 880 to the toll plaza. Its improving. Thats the first sign. This is a 20minute delay. There are no major problems getting into San Francisco. This is now we dont have 880. I put it in by accident. I will tell you, in fact i can show you on the maps instead, that 880 traffic is going to be busy as you drive southbound 880 from 238 and northbound is a little bit slow from about 238 up to the cal seem. So thats kind of typical as you drive through. You notice 580 traffic is not bad through livermore and 880 traffic gets better after union city. We are beginning to see, steve, as we bring you in here, a little bit of a better commute by tomorrow on the friday before the fourth of july. I have a feeling a lot of people will be up at the lake or whatever theyre going. I am thinking of driving up to lake tahoe. Do you think it will be that bad . My microphone . Too much in the way of cold temperatures. Temperatures will be chilly there. There are 12 fires currently burning in the state of california here. There is some pretty hot numbers. Certainly out to the valley with lots of 101s. Humidity low. There will be cooler temps starting saturday and for sure sunday into monday. So that will help a little bit. Lots of low clouds and fog out there and the low cloud deck made a good push this morning. Giantsas tonight mostly sunny. 63 at game time. West wind 20 miles per hour. Bodega bay 28. So they are running below. San francisco buoy very cold. 51 monterey. 52. When you get water temps that cold and 90s and 100s inland, the fog is rearing to go. Sometimes its held in check by a dome of High Pressure. Thats what we have. Still there. Bodega bay south. I think it will burn off sooner. Inland temps which cooled off for many yesterday will warm up a bit. Midtoupper 90s to 100s if you are inland. Low 50s morgan hill to gilroy. 59 campbell, santa clara and cupertino in there as well. They are beginning to warm up. Cold foggy on the monterey peninsula. Up in the sierra warm to hot. 27 tucson. 72 in tucson. The humidity is higher in arizona than the deep south this morning. Thats that monsoon moisture. Some could work its way into Southern California. I dont think the parameters are right to take it up to the sierra nevada. So cool coast. Hot inland. At least for today. Then i think after today we will start to see cooler weather spill in for everybody over the Holiday Weekend. If you are heading up to the sierra, warm to hot today and friday. Mostly sunny. Cooler sunday and monday. Mostly sunny. The fog will be lifted and rearing to go as we head into the next couple of days. 50s, 60s, 70s, then 80s, 90s, and 100s. How about that . If you travel around the bay, just watch your car thermometer. 70s to 90s to upper 90s to 100. Santa clara valley 90s. 50s on the coast. 60s, 70s, or low 80s. About the same tomorrow and then cooler inland on the weekend. Steve, thank you. Youre welcome. 7 56. Today the 75th marin county fair kicks off. A big lineup of music, fun, exhibits, and food. Officials at joint base andrews are still working what theyre calling an active shooter situation at an Air Force Hospital on that base. Just minutes ago the allclear was given for the rest of the base. The hospital, however, is still under some scrutiny. This incident was reported two hours ago. We have been following it since that time on mornings on 2. At this point we havent received any official word whether anyone was hurt. Officials do, however, confirm an active Shooter Drill was scheduled today for the base, and this call about what appears to be the real thing, if you will, came in before that drill had a chance to begin. Now, Vice President joe biden was scheduled to fly out of that base this afternoon for a trip to ohio. We dont know yet if this situation will delay or even cancel that trip. Well keep an eye on everything, monitoring the situation, and bring you updates as they become available. Well, in other news this morning, a 21yearold man is in the hospital with life threatening injuries. He was randomly stabbed inside a santa rosa Movie Theater. Police were able to arrest the suspect shortly after the attack. Alex savidge is live in santa rosa. Alex, police are trying to figure out if this stabbing is connected to another random stabbing in the city a few days ago . Reporter right. Police this morning are trying to figure out if the man they now have in custody is the same person responsible for two random stabbings just within a matter of days all here in downtown santa rosa. The latest attack, it was unprovoked according to authorities, and it happened here inside the roxy theater right in downtown santa rosa. It was just after 4 00 this afternoon. It was during a showing of the movie the shallows. A man came up behind a movie goer and stabbed the man in the throat and the chest. He tossed the knife in a trash can outside of the theater and then calmly walked out of the building. Officers though were able to catch up with him and they arrested him just a short distance away, not far from the Movie Theater. And this Morning Police are now trying to figure out if the attacker from the Movie Theater yesterday may be the same person who stabbed a homeless man to death earlier this week. In that case, the victim was stabbed at least 50 times early monday morning as he slept in a doorway. Also here in the downtown santa rosa area. And a short time ago we talked with a man who told us he knows the victim in mondays stabbing. I hope they figure out if it was the correct person. I knew him. That dude was awesome. He was always smiling. Super nice guy. Always in a really good mood. Reporter now, police have not identified the 23yearold man that they now have in custody in connection with the stabbing at the theater nor have they identified the young man who they say was stabbed. That man who was stabbed at random here inside the roxy theater, a 21yearold man. At last check he is hospitalized with life threatening injuries. We are working to get an update on the victims condition and the identity and more information on the man police now have in custody. Again he is being questioned, it would seem, in connection with the stabbing here at the theater and then also the stabbing of the homeless man nearby just a few blocks away here in downtown santa rosa earlier this week. Thank you. Time is 8 04. Should we talk to steve . Find out about the weather . I think so. People have big plans. Sunny for some. Cool for others. Yeah. High pressure, i swear, just one little day. Thats all it takes here. 50s. 50s. Upper 50s. Some in the 60s here. Look for the fog to win out. As a weak system moves into the north, that will lift the fog bank into the weekend. Today warm to hot for some. Cold for others. Sal, how are things . Things are getting a little better, steve. We are seeing a little bit of improvement out there. Lets start out with the macarthur maze and start there with the traffic not looking too bad. And when you get to the bay bridge toll plaza youre seeing the traffic is beginning to thin out, and that like we said, this is going to be a transition day. Can you do it . People are. This is 580 westbound. It looks good. Here is a sign things are better than normal. 880 is slow at 238, but its not quite as bad as it is driving to fremont. There were iraq airstrikes against fleeing isis vehicles in iraq killing hundreds of fighters. President obama at a summit of north american leaders suggested isis or isil, as he says, was on the run. Our collation is on the offensive across iraq, syria, and we will destroy the terrorist group isil. [ applause ] we will destroy them. Reporter and while its true that the isis dream of a selfgoverned caliphate in iraq and syria seems farfetched given one battlefield loss after another, the group can still deliver a punch. Isis claimed credit for the brussels attack back in march, and all of this is fueling Donald Trumps attacks on both obama and Hillary Clinton. You know why they are taking our youth . Because they look like they are winning. We have to give them a big fat ugly defeat. [cheers and applause]. Reporter and the new fox news poll confirms public unease. 84 of registered voters say they are nervous now about our ability to prevent a terrorist attack.
