There was a significant rock slide here ironing niles canyon road early this morning. Some good sized rocks came falling down the hillside along with mud and they were covering the road in that area. Before crews could get in there and clean things up. Two cars slammed in to the rocks and both drivers blew out drivers. One said that there was some damage he had to his engine as well. Thankfully neither of them were hurt after hitting those rocks. One man said that he was on his way to work this morning from the Central Valley coming in to the bay area and driving up through niles canyon road and he suddenly hit the rocks and went airborne. All these rocks come out in the road and i ran over one, probably went a foot in the air. Popped by tire. Damaged to the motor and then i saw the guy thats in front of us now hit the same rocks, his tires popped too. Reporter we were watching this morning agriculture the crew showed up there to try to clear some of the large rocks out of the roadway. Both lanes of niles canyon road are back open.
