We have the california Highway Patrol here. You guys have seen the water main, how much damage has been done . We are able to restore water to the surrounding businesses. Construction will begin later this morning. The age of the main that broke dates back to 1895. Age is the likely factor for the main break. We are going to make repairs and replace it and put it back into service. Reporter a lot of the water came out out of the main, any idea how much damage was done to the road . Thats the major concern, it may have undermined fourth and howard. Its an important intersection. Our crews will be here, they will look at the erosion and see what the water did to displace the soil under the road. They are going to put the soil back and make it as stable as it was before. Reporter i know its tough to get a time line but what is the latest estimate on when fourth and howard will be opening. Repairs will be taking all morning and lasting through the afternoon. Reporter thank you, thats the latest information, this is expected to be a major impact on anyone driving through the area. Remember that this is the holiday season, a lot of people are doing their shopping. This is fifth and market, there is a major parking garage for people doing shopping. Traffic in the air is expected to be impacted throughout the morning and possibly into the afternoon. This is the loading area for mosconi center. We saw water going into the loading dock area there. We spoke to the building engineers. It does not appear that there is any damage but its impacting their loading dock area. They normally have the gates up. That could have some impact. We are not hearing about any mairming conventions going on at the center so fog is being majorly impacted by the fact marriage conventions going on major conventions going on at the center so nothing is being majorly impacted. But no traffic is passing through fourth and howard. This is a major intersection. Especially during the holidays. A lot of people come down stockton street and cross market and take howard down to the freeway, this morning, people are not going to be able to do that. People may be using fifth or eighth or 10th. Thats going to put more traffic on all of the streets in that area. You heard the man telling christian this is going to last all morning into the afternoon. Lets move along and look at the marin county, a couple of crashes have messed up the commute towards the golden get braij. We are live with the job ahead for investigators and the Ripple Effect for people in similar housing. Reporter later today atf investigators will be mapping the warehouse in an effort to figure out how the fire started. That team is going to create a diagram of the ghost ship collective to pin point the origin of the fire believed to be near the back wall of the building. They have also called in a team of electrical engineers. Their focus is on a number of appliances that could have sparked the fire. There is no evidence to suggest that this was arson.
