Inmates of other families say they have heard guard abuse has been happening here. They want to put a stop to it. 31yearold Michael Tyree was found dead in his cell last week. A coroner determined his death was the result of Blunt Force Trauma and internal bleeding. He was in jail for misdemeanor drug possession and petty theft but was waiting transfer to a Mental Health facility. There were no beds available. Video evidence and witness statements prove her officers were responsible for tyrees murder. Its unmistakable that jerry lubrin committed this act. She has strong accusations. They have inmates shackled and they will beat them up. Kick them in the face. It will be you know three on one. Its as if they dont know when to stop. Reporter the sheriff says the behavior shown by the three officers accused is not characteristic of the other deputies working in the jail. The three men are being held at the santa rita jail in al my dam county for their own in Alameda County for their own protection. They will be marching around the main jail so the inmates from above can see them demonstrating. Th are calling for a large systematic change so that tragedies like this can be prevented. Pam. All right thank you janine. Well city on the story all morning. The search continues this morning for the person who opened fire at Sacramento CityCollege Killing one person and injuring two others. The shooting happened in a parking lot yesterday afternoon. Police now say there was an argument between two groups of men and then someone pulled a knife and then another man had a gun. One victim died at the scene, another person is in the hospital but is expected to survive. A third person suffered a minor injury. Students say they are stunned by this violence. My stomach dropped. It was definitely really scary. I heard somebody died and its very sad. Two of the three victims were students but they didnt release any information. Time is 6 05. Closing down barts transbay tube this weekend. Ktvu fox 2 alex savidge is live with more. Reporter dave, good morning to you. There are ways to get around the closure but the best advice from bart is not to come into the city if you dont have to. Again bart trains as weve been telling you all week long they will not be running this weekend during Labor Day Weekend. The shut down begins at midnight tonight and extends through 4 00 a. M. On Tuesday Morning. Now there was a similar closure back in early august. It did not result in gridlock as many people thought it would but some bay area bridges did see heavier traffic. The transbay tube it will close down tonight. It will stay closed until Tuesday Morning that mines no bart service between the east bay and San Francisco. The closure is going to allow bart to finish up Maintenance Repair work and other improvements on the tracks near the west oakland station. And in the meantime while there is no bart service, bart will be running special free buses between the 19th street station in oakland and the temporary transbay terminal here until San Francisco. I just talked a few minutes ago with a barts spokesperson they told me they are confident things will go smoothly. What is the most important thing that commuters need to keep in mind this weekend . Leave your car at home. You can rely on transit. The bus bridge works. Allow 30 second extra minutes. We did pretty well in traffic last night. We did. It was very smooth and that is why we are confident this weekend we will be able to keep the bay area mobile. We have 77 buses ready to go. Reporter so they did not have gridlock last time around. They are hoping for a repeat performance here. Along with the buss that will be running, the bus bridge set up there will also be a bunch of extra ferries that will be running from the east bay to San Francisco this weekend to try to pick up the slack as well. So after this we are all done and by the way the only bart station that will be shut down dave is the west oakland station this weekend. The east Bay Regional Park District said the 19yearold with autism was walking with his sister last night on the west shore trail just above lacteum scow. He lost his footing and fell into the water. A bystander was able to rescue the sister and park rangers pulled out her brother and rushed him to Highland Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man accused of killing kate steinle in San Francisco he will be back in court this morning. That is where a judge will decide if he will go to trial and on what charges. Ktvu brian flores is joining us live now. Youre in San Francisco with the key evidence that a judge recently allowed. Reporter yeah this judge will have to make a couple big decision. Good morning to you. That judge will continue this preliminary hearing for Kate Steinles accused killer starting at 9 00 this morning. During this continuation of the preliminary hearing, the judge will decide whether steinles accused killer Juan FranciscoLopez Sanchez undocumented immigrant will go to trial. During the hearing yesterday, the judge rejected a defense motion to toss out a confession from Lopez Sanchez that he accidentally shot and killed kate steinle. Defense attorneys were arguing that police did not have a good reason to arrest him an hour after the shooting. They also argue that nobody actually saw Lopez Sanchez fire the gun back on july 1st. Several people did see him walking briskly away from the scene. And some took pictures and investigators use that as well as a confession that he accidentally shot steinle. The judge ruled that all of that will be allowed back into evidence and police acted appropriately on his arrest. As we take you back out here live, the continuation of this preliminary trial. The judge will decide whether Lopez Sanchez will be standing trial for murder charges or he might be facing lesser manslaughter charge. Well be waiting to hear that. The driver says he was turning on his windshield wipers at the time of that accident. Fire crews are still making headway against the latest wild fire. The one that is burning in lake county. It typically draws tens of thousands of visitors but there is a heavy Police Presence in parts of the area for that man hunt. 30yearold Police Lieutenant was shot and killed Tuesday Morning while pursuing what he described as three suspicious men. The massive search for the men has so far turned up nothing. Police in el cerrito are searching for a second suspect in a home invasion. The other suspect he was shot in the head by the 85yearold homeowner. This happened wednesday morning at about 11 00 near cutting and arlington boulevards. The 85yearold man called them, reported two suspicious people in his yard. He then said the men started breaking down the back door of his house. Fearing for his safety, the man grabbed a gun, he opened fire when he came face to face with the suspects. 85 years old. He was home alone and these criminals broke into his home. He has every right to fear for his life. He defended himself and in the process hes protecting the neighborhood and everybody else. Police say the suspect who was shot in the head he was found about 15 blocks away near the del norte bart station. He was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive. Jaden chau plans to swim from alcatraz to San Francisco. Hes been training for this for two years. The swim from alcatraz to San Francisco is about a mile and a half. Jaden says he is ready. I like swimming. Because it is challenging, its fun. Ever since i saw michael fell option win, its always been an inspiration to me. Pam. It is an inspiration to me.
