Reporter this is a sad story. The oneyearold girl drowned steps from the front door. She was pronounced dead here at the Muir Medical Center in wall in you the creek. This is what were in walnut creek. This is what were told ply police. They were scolded to the home after relatives reported the toddler missing. She was visiting her aunt who initially thought the girl was lost, so the aunt canvassed the neighborhood and later called police. Family members joined police in that frantic search of the house and the neighbor and it was an officer who found the girl floating in the homes gated backyard pool, which was also covered with a tarp. They performed cpr until paramedics arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the hospital around 11 00 p. M. Last night, the parents worse nightmare, a toddler drowning steps from the house. A napa man is accused of kidnapping, drugging and sexually assaulting a 13Year Old Girl. The girl jumped out of a moving pickup truck Early Saturday Morning on highway 1 at south harbor way in bodega bay and hid in some bushes. The Sonoma CountySheriffs Office said the 50yearold timothy marble called 911 to report a passenger had jumped out while the truck was moving. Deputies said when they arrived, the girl came out of the bushes and told them marble kidnapped her, injected her with drugs, raped her and etched his name into her leg with a knife. The girl told deputies she ran away from home thursday night after getting into an argument with her mother. She said she was at a gas station the next day when marble offered to give her a ride. Investigators said he has a criminal record including domestic violence. He is being held without bail. A fire destroyed a three story home in Sonoma County overnight. The fire was first reported at 8 40 last night in a wooded area of porter creek road between calistoga and the santa rosa area. A number of people in the area called 911 reporting the flames and the smoke. When firefighters arrived, the home was engulf oned in flames. There are no reports of injuries, and no word on the cause of the fire. And a motorcyclist is dead following a police chase in peta lime a. The officers received a call about two motorcycles speeding up and down the street around 5 59 last night. An officer arrived to investigate and took off. One continued but the second lost control and died at the scene. The other was arrested on suspicion of dui. The trial date for a malpractice lawsuit against the hospital and the doctor could be set for today. She was 13 when doctors declared her brain dead but the family said she is still alive. An oakley man is under arrest accused of shooting five men at a weekend Birthday Party in pittsburgh. The 23yearold and his friends were requested to leave the party on madeline street at 11 00 saturday night, when a fight started and the suspect pulled out a gun and started shooting. Other people at the party were able to detain the man until police arrived. He is in custody on suspicion of several felonies, including assault with a deadly weapon. Off five victims are in stable. Officials say divers found human body parts in a Shasta County lake. A human leg was attached to a cinder block and found under water at whiskey town lake, 8 miles west of redding. The divers reported finding remains separate from the leg but didnt go into more detail. They said the discoveries were made last friday and saturday. Officials believe the remains are 38yearold Bridgette Jones who vanished on march between th. Her husband was seen march 20th. Her husband was seen near the lake. Jacobs was arrested on tuesday. He told Shasta County sheriffs deputies the exwifes death was an accident and that she died after falling down the stairs while charging at him. He kept his exwifes body for four days at home before dumping her body in the lake. Investigators are trying to piece together the cause of the crash on 4 over the highway over if over the weekend that injured several people. The chp said that 14 people were hurt, including seven children. Contra costa county fire officials said at least four cars were involved in the crash. Emergency crew his to shut down the freeway so medical helicopters could land as close as possible. A 14yearold girl was airlifted to Childrens Hospital in oakland. Three others were taken to the hospital with major injuries and the cause of the crash is under investigation. Chicago police have identified and are searching for another teenage boy suspected of being involved in the gang rape of a 15 Year Old Girl last month stream lined on facebook. A San Francisco guymens chorus is morning the death of a member who died on stage during a gay mens chorus is mourning the death of a member. Other chorus members and paramedics performed cpr on the member but he didnt survive. He was a singer and Administrative Coordinator for the chorus. He was filled with humor and joy and always had a smile. The artist director and conductor of the chorus posted a message on facebook that says no one loved the San Francisco gay mens chorus more than ryan. It literally changed his life. Knowing him has changed all of ours. The cause of his death is not yet known. Thousands of people laced up the racing shoes this weekend for the 8th annual oakland running festival. The event included a marathon, Half Marathon and a 5k kids fun run. Rob malcolm was up bright and early with the runners. Reporter with that running festival getting off to a brisk start. 10,000 athletes from 33 states taking part in the unique race and going through oaklands divorce neighbor. Many running for fun and others for a cause. The school is in oakland. And its a private school and were running just for exercise for fun and there was a student who had passed away this year at the beginning of the year. We were running in her honor. Reporter whenever the cause, the overcast skies for the bulk of the race were perfect for runners. The infield was packed with all sorts of activities for the athletes. Some cross the finish line for the 5k race, we caught up with the mens and ladies winners. And that is great. Tons of people, fantastic, you know that is what you want to see. The Half Marathon at 9 10. And such a great atmosphere. So much enthusiasm from the town and participants. The marathon was a marquee event. Organizers said its important for athletes to start small and work their way up. 4,000 runners took part in the 5k, which is also sold out. The 5k is very, very popular, you know. And its a great entrance into our entire event because our Research Tells Us that if they do the 5k, next year they will come back and do the Half Marathon. Reporter on a day where the sun slowly made its way down on the runners, the night was slowly shining on the organizers and volunteers and atel athletes themselves. Today is opening day. Oakland knocked it out of the ballpark, my friend. Its been a tremendous, tremendous start to the 8th annual oakland festival. This is the tremendous city. The pride that shows up every year.
