Thanks, alex. A developing story of the south bay. A man so accused of four separate crashes late last night. One of the wrecks claimed the life of another driver. Janine de la vega is live at the site of the last crash where police are reopening the road following their investigation. Janine. Were here on center road. It has been closed to capitol expressway for hours. They just opened up the northbound lanes, and they are looking it looks like they might open the southbound lanes up here pretty soon. Now, police tell us this is a clear case of wreckless driving. They have determined that the driver was under the influence. This all started at 10 30 last night when police were first called to the parking lot on capitol expressway and tourist for a hitandrun accident. Officers were then calmed to a second crash at capitol and center road. Soon after, a third crash, another hitandrun. Police say the suspect hit two sleeks at center. Officers finally caught up with the driver at the 4 had the crash scene at center and singleton where they say he hit a vw killing the driver. Police determined the suspect ran a red light. Struck a vehicle that had the green light was making a left turn. The vehicle that was struck was pushed forward into the intersection and the driver of that vehicle was killed here at the scene. And still after that, the vehicle hit another vehicle. A six vehicle. And Police Arrested the suspect for dui and hit and run. He is 19 years old, and he could also face vehicular manslaughter charges. Now, we dont know the identity of the man that hit and killed. He appeared to have been around 30 yores old. Looking around. Police are still here on the scene. As they mentioned, he we still be opening the southbound lanes. Here right across and it should be okay for the community. Claudine . Starfo is trying to recover from the backlog of flights caused by the wet weather. The airport reports that only a third of mondays flights took off or landed on time. More than 120 flights were canceled or delayed. Some people whose flights too los angeles were canceled yesterday. They couldnt find available flights until 8 00 tonight or later. Yesterday, the snow caused major delays on highway 50 and interstate 80. Caltran reported several crashes and spinouts. Some drivers said it took them several hours late tore get to their destination. Its working around the clock to try to make sure those roads are clear. Several more inches of snow are expected to fall before christmas. So if you are headed to the sierra, make sure youre prepared and bring those chains. Several drivers took to social media after they got stuck on highway 50 for several hours yesterday due to avalanche control. That is when caltran determined an avalanche is threatening. They used a system to release the avalanche. Caltran had to shut down a major highway. They did it last night for a couple of hours leaving many drivers with nowhere to go. Once the road does reopen, the drivers face another challenge. More backups because of the chain controls. People who live in contra cobs at that county are being asked to clean up storm drains and creeks that help prevent flueding. Many recently dry creeks are now flowing again and there is concern that too much water could cause those creeks to overflow, open will i if they get filled with debro. Most of the creeks in contra costa county. Over 95 of the creeks are the responsibility of the private homeowner. You need to get out into your own creek and that means removing downed trees, dead vegetation. Officials are barning residents to stay out of creeks. You can get uptotheminute. San Leandro Police are trying to identify the man who shot four people in a night club parking lot. Three men and a woman were injured in the shooting in the Club Caliente parking lot. At about 2 00 yesterday morning. Witnesses tell police it happened as the club was closing for the night. And people were heading to their cars. One of the biggest problem for drivers across the bay area is the wind. Folks are hanging on tight. Ktvu fox 2 reporter live this morning at the richmond bridge. That is one of several bridges here in the bay area. With a wind advisory in effect. And christian, how windy is it out there . Yeah, were taking our windy bridge tour around the bay. An hour ago, we were down at the san mateo bridge. Not as windy here at the tom plaza as it was as the san mateo toll plaza. If you take a look here, you can see traffic here making its way through the toll plaza, and if we turn up a little bit, you might be able to see some flags. You did see them moving a little bit but not that kind of whipping wind we saw in hayward just about an hour ago. The Highway Patrol issued a high wind advisory here for the bridge at 1 00 this morning. Its not just the bridge, of course, its windy all around the bay. The c hp at 12 30. I can tell you it was very windy coming across. Not a lot of rain as i made my way across the bridge at around 3 30 u. Certainly, some sprinkles and a lot of wind. The big windy story we saw this morning was over at the san mateo bridge. We have some video from that. Just about an hour ago, around 3 30, the chp issued a similar warning for wind at the san mateo bridge. We were out there. There were some sustained winds. Gusty conditions. It was blowing around quite a bit out there. The ailed vice from chp at a time like this for anybody is to take it easy on the road. Again, as we have been telling you all morning and yesterday morning as well, leave yourself some extra time as you try to make your ride. One of the other things i know this wind is expected to go is to blow down trees. We do have a report of a tree down into some pg ande lines. In fact, guys, that is where we are headed right now. All right, thank you. And speaking of that large tree, it was apparently blown down on mcallister avenue in the marin county town of kentfield. Power is out to about 50 customers in that area. Pg ande crews are already there and working to restore power, but they dont expect to have everyone out of the dark until sometime this afternoon. A 19 yearold suspected drunk driver is accused of four accept lateral crashes in san jose. One of them was deadly. Last crash claimed the life of another driver. Investigateors say the collision occurred over a 15minute stretch. It started at 10 30 last night and all ended on center and singleton roads between capitol expressway and highway 101. Police believe the suspect ran a red light and slammed into another car killing the driver. The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment. There were no other injuries in the other crashes. Well, happening today, the richmond man arrested for making threats against muslims will appear in court. Fiftyfiveyearold william faces charges of to tessing possessing a false explosive device as well as making threats. He is the man who stopped at the Islamic Society earlier this month and told people there he would come back and kill them all. Someone copied down his license plate and called police. They discovered a photo of a pipe bomb on his facebook page, and some people we talked to say it would scare them enough to make them want to stay home. And this person is threatening muslims. And not just a hit crime hate crime. I think we would define it asker the rich. Behavior and aggression towards them really prompted us to be worried about what he was capable of. Reporter police found what appeared to be a large pipe bomb. They later destroyed it and determined it was a fake. Police in berkeley say a man found dead at a Fraternity House over the weekend fell from a significant height. Twentytwoyearold Jeffrey Thomas engler was found at about 7 30 saturday morning at the pi kappa phi house hat the top of chaning way. Angler was a member of the fraternity but was currently enrolled. Investigators say there is no indication of foul play, but they do believe alcohol was a factor in his death. Murder charges have been filed in Monterey County against two people suspected in the deaths of two children. Thirtynineyearold Tammy Huntsman and 17yearold curiel are accused of killing the kids. Threeyearold delilah and six yearold shawn had been reported missing. Their bodies were discovered on december 13th in a storage locker in redding. Prosecutors say the children had be been to tortured and were killed around thanksgiving. The federal trial of raymond chow continues in soon francisco after chow took the witness stand to answer charges of racketeering, money landerring, and murder. The 56yearold described growing up in hong kong, moving to San Francisco at the age of 16 and admitting to turning to a life of crime. He loudly denied charges that he ordered the death of a recruited gang member. He told the jury when he got out of prison in 2003, he decideed to turn his life around. We want them to see that he is a genuine person who is passionate about being reformed and stuck with that. A mother was standing outside her car desperately calling for help. Our baby was in her hand. It was really limp. No signs of life at all. And she said my baby not breathing. My baby is not breathing. Reporter williams approximate but the boy in the backseat and began cpr. And you know, someones life is in the balance. A twomonthold infant, you know. And i just went back to my training. I was really counting to myself. One, two, three, four. Reporter while training to become an officer, williams has performed cpr on man kins. He knew the odds from his instructor. I was not expecting the baby to come back to life. I had no idea how long he had been out for. Reporter then after about a minute, a pulse. Slowly but surely, the baby started coming back to life, showing me signs of life action started flexing his muscles a little bit, attempting to cry. And then eventually to a fullout cry. Reporter a babys life saved by a young man who opens hopes to take the experience with him when he hits the streets as a police officer. The right place at the right time. Here is the bay bridge toll plaza guiltying a little bit busier. The bay bridge has a wind advisory in place, and so do two other bay area bridges including the san mateo bridge and the richmond san raphel bridge. The chp has put out. We have such gusty withins. They want everybody to drive carefully on those spans. We show you the san mat oh,o bridge. You also have some moisture on the lens, and so presumingly the presumably the roadways are still wet and slick as well. Two reasons to be cautious. You have very gusty conditions and you still have been wet roads. Take it easy out there. Certainly good advice. Always. Police dont to search for two women who turn violent inside a toys r us store. This is a surveillance picture of the women police are looking for. They say the women were trying to steal 150 worth of baby formula when a store manager confronted them. Now this happened saturday afternoon at the toys r us on plaza drive. The women punched a store employee, shoved an 1yearold girl who landed on her head 15 feet away. That girl suffered traumatic injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Now, again, here is a look at the suspects. Investigators say the women jumped into a hyunkai with three other women and got away. Police also say that the baby formula can be linked to organized crime and the manufacturer of cocaine or heroin p. A San Francisco superior court judge ruled eight Police Officers who sent racist and homophobic Text Messages will be allowed to keep their jobs. Judge earnest goldsman found that the Police Department waited too long to take action on the allegations of misconduct. The text came to light during a federal corruption probe in 2012. Police officials did not start their investigation until this year. Police chief says the messages make references to white supreme city, repeated use of the n word and talked about burning crosses. The pharmaceutical widely criticized for jacking up the price of an hiv drug has been fired as ceo of the bay area drug company. The San Franciscobased announced that news yesterday. This all comes as he was arrested last week on securities fraud. He also stepped down as head of touring pharmaceuticals. Investigators say the former hedgefund manager essentially ran a ponzi scheme by illegally taking 11 million in stocks from a Biotech Company he started. A Santa Clara Youth Soccer League is scrambling to find fields to play in scheduled matches over the next two months. The league normally plays at a soccer park right next to levi stadium. Because of the superbowl 50, the fields will be off limits. Now, according to the mercury news, the nfl plans to transform the area into a media village. Construction will begin in the next two weeks. And wont be completed until a few weeks after the superbowl.
