Authorities say the latenight attack happened on january 18th on lomita court near student apartments and fraternity houses. 19yearold freshman brock turner is accused of raping a woman he met at a party as she lay intoxicated unconscious on the ground. Two students on bikes saw the assault and chased after turner who ran. He was tackled and held until police arrived. He was arrested on five felony counts. The fact that hes a star at sleet should not prevent him from facing the same consequences the rest of us would. He should be more responsible for his actions. Reporter stanford has come under fire for the hiring of campus Sexual Assault and student held protests last spring. Officials have put Sexual Assault programs in place for incoming freshman. If you are driving on the bay bridge approach, thats about a 25 to 30 minute delay and i see i see cars moving through normally as the metering lights will let you. Its a normallooking commute. It doesnt mean it wont be slow. On the peninsula, 101, approaching 92, some slow traffic there. Now the rest of the peninsula looks okay. South bay, northbound 85, slow from 87 into cupertino. 280 and 101 are getting much slower on the way into sunnyvale and cupertino. 7 19. Lets go to steve in the weather center. We do have mostly dlears. There are high clouds we do have mostly clear skies. There are high clouds to the east bay. But overall, mostly sunny. Its mainly favoring the valley. Yesterday was upper 50s low 60s. Its a lot of 40s and some as. Half moon bay is 55. They are one of the warmest by far. Livermore 42. I think they were 60 at this time. Woodside is the biggie. They were 62 this time yesterday. Now low 40s there. Menlo park, also palo alto, higherrervations. 49 la honda and los altos hills. 49 foster city. A lot of cloud cover taking aim at Southern California. It looks like it will stay down there. We did have word there could be a problem on 80 westbound and im looking for it here. Westbound 80 as i drive past ashby but i dont see anything. Well if seeing materializes and well be watching it closely. Lets take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza westbound thats backed up for a little bit. No major problems coming out to the toll plaza area. But its backed up for a 30 minute delay. No obstructions but a lot of low traffic as you drive through. On the peninsula we talked about 101 being slow near 92. Also talked about traffic in the east bay a little bit slow from the san mateo bridge getting across the 101 and 880 slows from 238 all the way down southbound 880 slows down to stevenson as you head south. 7 33. Back to the desk. Thank you. One of the victims shot to death in the bayview neighbor was killed in front of her own young children. Neighbors say she was an innocent bystander when gunfire broke out near her house. Tara moriarty is live at the spot where the first of two shootings happened and youve talked to some neighbors about the victim. Tara . Reporter yeah, we understand the victims name was lourdes. A young mother of three young children. Apparently she was gunned down in front of them right in front of her own house. You can see theres candles and flowers here for her. Were hearing new reports that there were two cars in this area last night shooting at each other. Now, around 4 15, a shot spotter acttyvation alerted police that 19 spots were fired. Ktvu was here when the victims husband found out his wife had been killed. She died at the hospital. Neighbors say many children had just been let out of school and saw the whole thing. Got caught in the crossfire of other peoples stupidity and not knowing what was coming for her, whatsoever. And just really sad. Her friends and family were here and for them to have to see that, for her to have to go through that is just horrific. Reporter less than ten minutes later, two more shooting victims turned up near the old clamhouse on bayshore boulevard before 4 30 last night. An suv pulled up in front of the restaurant. The driver a woman who was bleeding had been shot and went inside the restaurant for help. Wait staff say she appeared calm and didnt offer any information as to why she was bleeding. She said the man in her car passenger seat was dead and that man died of gunshot wound at the hospital. The woman was in Critical Condition at last check. Police have not provided any description of the two cars involved in the initial shooting. Back here live you can see the candles and we understand that this is a bus stop. Weve seen a lot of parents come by this morning and express their disbelief about what happened and saying they feel uncomfortable. Criminal charges have been dropped against a 14yearold boy in San Francisco who was accused in the stabbing death of another teenager. The public defender says surveillance images show the 14 yearold boy outlined in the blue did not stab ra Shawn Williams last september outside of a market in the mission district. The teen in red is believed to be the killer. Its this person with the long sleeved shifrt, the lighter shirt who makes the stabbing motion. Now, ras it Shawn Williams was a standout student and Football Player. The d. A. s office have not said if they know the name of the other individual. Just because charges were dropped now, it does not mean that the 14yearold is innocent or that he wont be rearrested on charges of accessory to murder. The masked thieves who smashed the suv through the glass doors of the Wells Fargo Museum in San Francisco and stole gold nuggets, well, they left behind items that were a lot more expensive. The three Armed Bandits drove a to stolen suv into the museum on montgomery street early yesterday morning. They held a guard at gunpoint and made off with a couple of gold nuggets and gold ore in a display case. They would be worth about 10,000 melted down. I thought it was a drunk driver at first until it veered and crashed into the museum. There was glass everywhere. Alarms went off. The thieves got away in a fourdoor sedan. Several items that were not stolen were a lot more valuable. They included a twofoot high scale. About 15, 20 birds found in San Francisco bay covered in the mysterious goo are being release. Yesterday, they prepared the birds to go back into the wild. They are being released at 10 00 this morning in sausalito. The group is still treating about 220 birds and they still dont know the source of the mysterious substance that coated the bidz killing at least 300 of them bird s killing at least 300 of them. The law that was temporary at one point is now permanent because of continued complaints of these wild pigs that continue to roam this neighborhood here along forsome road. The city Council Voted 73 to make it permanent. The statute allows to shoot those looking for food. Because of continued complaints of the wild pigs especially near coyote creek, the council decided to make the statute permanent. About 14 pigs have been caught and killed so far. But residents continue to see them especially at night, especially along forsome road in san jose next to coyote creek. Its pretty bad. They come in and tear the lawns up and they come around usually in the evening and come around, you know, a whole bunch. Reporter the law does not allow for any resident to get a gun to use on the pigs. The pigs musting caged at first after getting caught and only those with a permit from the state department of fish and wildlife can do it. Anyone planning to shoot the pig must notify the San Jose Police department before doing so. The wild pigs are not native to california and they do consider them an environmental nuisance. And margey mathews one of the delete who voted against the measures said she was concerned about gunshots being heard in the neighborhoods. You are taking a look now. Were in front of an apartment complex and you can see this temporary fencing along this apartment complex. Residents say this was put up months ago to keep the wild pigs out. Opponents say that they hope to find a better way than trapping and shooting the pigs. This passed last night. I know the pigs can cause a lot of damage. Its happened to some of my friends and neighbors. Workers with Contra Costa Health services, they will be out counting the Homeless Population in the county. The survey requires are required if they want funding. Theres a new program called zero 2016. Its part of a National Effort to end homeless among veterans and chronic homelessness by the end of the next year. Now it looks like a bunch of stopped cars at the toll plaza. The delay time has gone up to 45 minutes unfortunately. If you are using cash, it will be your time there. They are actually asking the public for help. They are investigating two separate shootings in the Bayview District last night. One of the victims is a mother. Neighbors say that her name was lourdes and lived at the home where she was gunned down in front of her children and would be frequently seen. She was very friendly. They also mentioned that she worked at sfo airport at the subway there making sandwiches trying to mang ends meet and just make ends meet and just a very tragic story for a lot of folks who have been stopping by all morning to lay their mementos here. Were hearing new reports, there were two cars in the area involved in a rolling gun battle. Around 4 15 in the afternoon, a shot spotter acttation alerted Police Activation alerted police that 19 shots were fired. Firefighters at station one block away also heard the shots. Ktvu was here when the victims husband found out his wife had been killed in the crossfire. She died at the hot. I brought some candles to light for her. It was really sad that kids have to be without their mother now through the stupidity of people not shooting. We dont know what the reason was, whatever. It was midday. Kids are getting out of school. It it was a lot. Its a lot. Reporter less than ten minutes later, two more shooting victims turned up at the old clamhouse restaurant on bayshore boulevard. One of them a room who had been shot. The woman appeared calm and didnt offer an explain aches as to why she was bleed explain aches as to explanation as to why she was bleeding. The woman was listed in Critical Condition at last check. Police have not provided a description of the two cars. A lot of folks say they are quite rattled. A. s office have not said if they know the name of that other teen in the footage. Prosecutors say this is a very complex case and just because charges were dropped at this time, it doesnt mean the 14 yearold is innocent or that he wont be rearrested on charges of accessory to murder. Masked thieves who smashed and suv through the glass doors of a Wells Fargo Museum in San Francisco and stole gold nuggets, they left behind far more expensive items. The Armed Bandits drove a stolen suv right into the museum on montgomery street early yesterday morning. They held a guard at gunpoint. They got away with a couple of gold nuggets and gold ore. They weigh 4 to 10 ounces, worth about 10,000 if they were melted down. I thought it was a drunk driver when it veered and crashed into the museum. There was glass everywhere. Alarms went off. The thieves drove off in a four door sedan. Historians say several items that were not stolen, they are a lot more valuable. They included a 2foot high weighing scale and a telegraph machine. About 15, 20 birds found in San Francisco bay covered in the mysterious goo are being released. Yesterday, workers prepared the birds to go back out in the wild. The group is till stake care of and the group is still taking care of other bird and still dont know the source of the goo. Wild pigs continue to cause big problems in san jose. Theyve done so much damage, the city has made a law permanent. Brian flores joins us live to explain why the city decided to make the law permanent. Reporter the pigs are still out here. We havent seen any this morning. Bull residents assure us that they are. The law for trapping and shooting that was set to expire. But the city Council Voted 73, as you mentioned to make this law ermt. The statute allahs for licensed trappers to catch and trap wild boars that have torn up business and neighborhood lawns looking for food. Because of the amount of complaints of the wild pigs from residents and Business Owners near coyote creek, the council decided to make the statute permanent. Frills says they caught about 14 pigs and killed them so far. But residents continue to see them, especially at night and along forsome road right next to the creek. I can see they do a lot of damage on thoecket house on those houses. Maybe the city can do something about it. I dont see anybody threatening before they tried to put the bigger cages you. The pig was smart. Didnt go inside. Reporter pretty smart pig. The law does not allow for any resident to get a gun to use on the pigs. The pigs must be caged first after getting caught. Only people with a permit from the States Department of fish and wildlife can do the shooting. Anyone who does the shooting must notify the San Jose Police department beforehand. The wild pigs are not native to california and do consider them an environmental newsance. Opponents say the method is inhumane. You see temperature fencing here. This is a result of the wild pigs residents have seen. We were driving here and have seen other homes that had the temporary fencing. Opponents of this measure are hoping theres other ways. The napa county sheriff released Surveillance Video of the victim, 57yearold marina cruzbahar with two men. They were at a restaurant. Official says they left the restaurant together about 10 30 november 15th, the night before she was found dead. Witnesses say the three were later seen at a santa rosa restaurant where any danced until about 12 30 that night.
