This is a live look in san jose, where were following developing news right now, police say there was a Home Invasion in this neighborhood earlier this morning. But the investigation is not ending there. Nearly three hours ago, a stolen suv connected to that previous scene crashed into a home in this part of the city. Most locations are up to brentwood, oakley. Vacaville. But for most. A huge increase in the fog means a big cooldown on the afternoon temperatures. Started yesterday about 3 00, 4 00. On the coast, it started about noon. For inland temperatures, it what 100 it was 100. So the 32mileanhour wind at travis. Westnorthwest oakland, suisun bay, 50s and 60s. These are noticeably cooler than yesterday. The fog really came flying up the coast. The higher clouds as well, tropical clouds out of the picture as well. Cooler for almost everybody. There is a big fog bank out there. 50s or 60s on the temperatures. 80s for some or very low 90s. Heres sal. We have a lot of slow traffic here along the east bay commute as you are driving. Well start off with the eastshore freeway and traffic is moving along pretty well as you drive in berkeley but the entire trip is making 25 minutes. Your average speed is about 45 miles an hour. So you will see definitely slow spots. Bay bridge toll plaza, we have a look at the toll plaza, its a 25, 30minute drive unless you are in the carpool lanes getting across to the San Francisco side. I do want to mention that we have a problem on northbound 101 reported at embarcadero road. Its a motorcycle crash in the lanes and traffic is beginning to get slow in this area in palo alto. You might want to think about using 280 as an alternate route. Northbound 101 near embarcadero. This could affect the sunnyvale and Mountain View commute as well. Traffic is still slow on northbound 880 near 98th avenue in oakland following the death of a woman on the freeway. The 911 call came in around 4 20 this morning. Witnesses spotted the body in the lanes on northbound 880 near the 98th avenue offramp. A cocacola rig big was pulled over to the side. Investigators are not sure if the truck killed the woman hitting her or if the woman jumped. Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. Developing news in san jose, where police are investigating two different crime scenes. Earlier this morning, janine de la vega was at singleton and center roads where a stolen car crashed into a vacant hole. Now shes a few miles away where theres a connection. Good morning. Reporter its still an active scene. In this neighborhood in East San Jose near capitol expressway, crime scene technicians have been going in and out of one of the homes here that was robbed. Were told the couple was threatened with weapons. Here is a map of the two crime scenes. The Home Invasion occurred 0 sun shadow lane in East San Jose around 4 00 this morning. Authorities says suspects then traveled on say the suspects then traveled on highway 101 for several miles in an suv. They had stolen from the home. A chp car followed it. It ended up crashing at singleton and center road. Here is video of that suv that smashed into a vacant home. The chp officers didnt realize it was tied to a Home Invasion. They originally started following it because it was speeding. After the vehicle crashed, they arrested the 15yearold male passengers. The male driver ran away, which prompted police to set up a perimeter and to a yardtoyard search. They were unable to locate him. Police are now collecting evidence and processing the scene at the Home Invasion. They say the couple who was robbed was not serious injured but officers say there are signs of forced entry there. Given the circumstances, both victims are doing remarkably well, i would say. Reporter does it appear to be targeted or random . Its hard to say. Its part of what were investigating. Reporter the stolen suv was towed from the crash scene and taken by police. They will be taking fingerprints off it and searching for evidence. Well be looking to see if any items stolen from the Home Invasion are inside. Police continue to have the neighborhood where the Home Invasion occurred roped off with crime tape while they investigate. They are looking to see if any of the homes here have any surveillance cameras that captured anything. They are conducting interviews at this time. At this point, they dont have any information yet that they are releasing to us about that second suspect who is still at large. Fairfield firefighters are warning people about the dangers of fireworks after sparklers ignited a large grass fire. It was reported at 9 30 last night above highway 80. Firefighters say this is close to a trailer park for senior citizens. Firefighters say this area has burned several times in the last few years. So they knew what to expect. A fire investigator found sparklers near where the fire began. All types of fireworks are illegal in the city of fairfield. This year erk the dry conditions and this year, the dry conditions and heat make it more dangerous to use them. Lighting them off in a city street is dangerous enough but doing it in an open field is a recipe for disaster. Firefighters were able to get ahead of the fire at the last moment before it got out of control. Firefighters in oakland are taking extra precautions ahead of the 4th of july holiday. Theyve set up collection bins at fire stations where people can get rid of fireworks with no questions asked. In oakland, all fireworks are illegal. Those caught face a fine of 1,000. A leprechaunstyle green top hat helped police track down a man suspected of starting a fire in san rafael. According to the marin independent journal. Juan duran was arrested for setting fire to dry brush near the elks lodge on mission avenue. It happened saturday night after duran tried to crash a wedding reception at the lodge. After being asked to leave, police say a manager saw him flick a lighter or lit matches into the match. The fire was put out and did not cause any damage. He was arrested outside a bar about two blocks away still wearing that green leprechaun style hat. 7 08. Happening today, if you rerye on a. C. Transit to get rely on a. C. Transit to get around, be prepared for changes. Tara moriarty is live from a bus stop in oakland with more on whats being eliminated today. Tara . Reporter well, no more paper transfers, starting today you will have to buy an unlimited use all day pass to board the bus. That will cost you 5. A. C. Transit wanted to do that because it will take let time for people to board the bus. A. C. Transit Officials Say fares will not be increasing from the current 2. 10 but passengers will have to pay the full fare each time they board. Anybody using a clipper card will have the allday pass. While Officials Say this new change will stream line the system some riders argue that eliminating transfers increase those needing to go to the doctor. They say it affects a small amount of people and boils down to 30 cents more under the new fare program. Well talk to riders this morning to see how they feel about all of these changes. Bus fares are increasing between 25 cents and 50 cents but theres no change to marin county local fares. Fares for clipper cardholders wont increase as much on some routes. Changes amoved by muni go approved by muni go into effect. Theres a onedollar increase for parking permits for these who live in the city or businesses who operate there. Starting this sunday, parking meters are free again on sundays and in september, bus fares go up 25 cents and monthly prices increase to 68. The contract for workers at all of the west coast ports expires in ten hours. Thats leading to concerns about a work stoppage. Truckers are trying to get their work in and out before tonight. The two are expected to continue contract talks. Both sides say they want to avoid a repeat of the tenday lockout that happened in 2002. The west coast ports handle 44 of all cargo in the u. S. For the first time in six years, California Workers earning minimum wage are getting a pay raise. Starting today, they will earn 9 an hour. Thats a onedollar increase. President obama plans to expand safeguards for federal transgender workers. The president announced the move last night during a reception at the white house marking pride month. The executive order offers formal protection because it would add gender identity to a list of other classes such as race. At least two other measures already prevent the federal government for firing people for being transgender. Still, advocates say the move is a powerful act of recognition for the transgender community. A South Carolina state trooper has been suspended without pay after threatening to use a pacer on an nfl taser on an nfl player during a traffic stop. New York City Police want amateur acrobats who perform on subway trains to take a seat. So far this year, police say theyve arrested more than 240 people on misdemeanor charges related to acrobats on subway cars. You could do that, right, brian . I will say that northbound 101 in palo alto right near embarcadero, they are clearing up a motorcycle accident as we get closer to the end of the week, a lot of people have friday off because its the 4th. Well start to see traffic get lighter which is always a  welcome site for everybody. Lets take a look at the picture. This is the bay bridge toll plaza. Thats about a 20, 25minute delay getting into San Francisco with no major problems on the bridge. Still some slow traffic by the way on northbound 880 approaching the coliseum due to an earlier problem thats gone. Lets go to steve. What a difference a day makes. Yesterday no fog. Today a lot of fog. Some locations well enough inland may not get the effects of that. By that, i mean lake county. Greta in middletown, we were 105. I doubt you cool off that much. A solid fog bank. Despite the recent hot Weather Police are warning people about leaving doors and windows open. More than 50 of home burglaries involve wide open windows and doors. Officers on patrol yesterday were looking for potential targets for thieves. Police also suggest always responding. If someone knocks on your front door even if you talk through the closed door. They say burglars often knock first just to see if someone is home. All right. 7 21. A youth counselor shot and killed on a playground right in front of a group of children. What started as a temporary plan is looking more longterm. Up next, the decision thats disappointing campers and will cost one bay area county a lot of money. Security cameras will be coming to the San Rafael Transit Center later this year. Its part of a 500,000 project to help crack down on crime. Officials say in 2012, there was an increase in Violent Crimes near the Transit Center. Earlier their this year, a 25 earlier this year, a 25year old marin man was convicted in the shooting of another man at the Transit Center on december 14th, 2012. Police say corey jerson was standing at the platform when the gunman approached him and opened fire. The California Drought is forcing campers to find another place to go this summer. They are closing the popular Memorial Park to overnight campers through midoctober. Pescadero creek is the only water source to the park and the water has dropped to an emergency level. The park is giving people who had reservations a refund or changing their reservations to next year. Even though its off limits to overnight campers, people can still use the 500acre park during the day. Being 87, i dont have too many more years that i can do this. Weve been camping all our lives and this is the first time anything like this has happened. Reporter people who visit the park during the day will have to bring their own water, however. The park is also saving water by putting up portable toilets and closing the flushable ones. The summer campground closure is a first in the parks 90 year history. 7 25. Tonight, berkeley could decide to join the fight against sugary drinks. The city council will consider putting a soda tax measure on the november ballot. It would call for a penny per ounce tax on soda, sweetened teas and other drinks with added sugar. Diet see da, milk, alcohol, baby formula and 100 juices wok exempt. If the tax passes, the money would go to the citys general fund. San francisco has a similar tax measure on its ballot. Richmond voters rejected this tax in 2012. There is a new report that finds side affects to vaccines are extremely rare. That is according to 60 studies. It also found there is no evidence that immuneny zigses cause immunizations cause autism. A doctor says like all drugs vaccines can cause side affects. She said they are extremely rare and the benefits greaty outweigh the risks. A new development in oakland in mayor quans fender bender. A really good delta breeze establishing itself. Fairfield, suisun, pittsburg. Its there in full force. It will give us a rather significant cooldown. 50s on the temperatures, very low 60s. Livermore, 61. Walnut creek, 61. Fairfield, 60 but theyve had gusts to 35. That means they will cool down. Some of the Higher Elevations are in the mid60s. Most are way down. San jose state state 56. Saratoga, 58. Gilroy, 56. The higher clouds move out. The humidity factor comes in. Theres lot of fog to go around. Fog, sun, breezy, windy at times. Cooler for most except for lake county and mendocino. Everyone else should get a cooldown. That fog and west wind equal a big drop in the temperatures. 80s to 90s. 50s, 60s, 7 70s closer to the coast. Were starting off with the san mateo bridge. You can see westbound 92 traffic is moderately heavy, although its not stop and go, as it has been in earlier hours. And also yesterday, we had a particularly bad day on this bridge. A lot of people getting to the peninsula, though, will see a crash in palo alto on 101 at embarcadero road. It was the northbound direction but it caused some slow traffic southbound. Also might have affected traffic coming west of the dumbarton bridge which is slow in the area. Also want to take a look at the east bay commute where 880 southbound as you drive down to union city and fremont is pretty much filled in until you get to about stevenson boulevard. 580 is the same. Its 580 slow from the grant line exit all the way out to the main part of livermore. It gets a little bit better in dublin. Lets take a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. This is about a 20minute drive time from the end of the line until you get to the San Francisco side of the bridge. 7 32. Back to the desk. All right, sal. Thank you. City leaders in vallejo are struggling to deal with squatters at an abandoned building near mare island. Alex savidge is live with the stubborn problem thats frustrating for neighbors. Reporter good morning. The city has cleared out this abandoned building at least four times. But squatters continue to come back and it was just yesterday when Vallejo Police and public works officials came out here and they ordered more than a dozen Homeless People from this Old Navy Building close to mare island. But ours later, earlier in the evening, some of them are back out here, even though the place was boarded up tight, neighbors believe they were trying to get back inside. People who live inside say the world war ii building at tennessee and wilson is known for prostitution, drug dealing and violent crime. Its been an eyesore for the past decade. Two homeless women tell ktvu they dont have any other options. We understand its trespassing but its all we have right now. Theres more than ten families in there. What else its not just one or two families. Theres several families in there. It has to be bad out there. They need to provide us to shelters. They have nothing for us. Nowhere for us to go. Reporter this building was the badge and pass building. It was the first stop to get on the old Mare Island Navy base. People living nearby now say they want this building demolished. Thats something the city is, in fact, looking into. As we bring you back out here live to a picture, you can see there is a surveillance camera on the property. There is a monitor who monitors it and orders them to away through a speaker. But still, this problem persists. Alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. This morning firefighters are trying to figure out what  started a brush fire that threatened a number of homes in south san jose. It burned about 125 acres near santa teresa county park and curry drive. Thats south of 85. The fire started at around 1 45 yesterday afternoon and quickly spread uphill. Homes were evacuated around the burning hillside. But people were allowed to return yesterday evening. One woman says she saw a young man running from the area shortly after the fire started. Fire investigators have not said if they believe the fire was intentionally set. All fire stations in oakland will be opened today. Oaklands improving economy and brighter budget picture has allowed the city to end the brownouts which began a few years ago. New this morning, pg e crews are making progress on restoring power after an outage that left thousands of people in the dark earlier this morning in the east bay. It began around 4 30 a. M. In the san pablo area. Pg e says that at the peak of the outage, nearly 6,000 customers were affected. The agency now says only 28 customers are without power. The cause appears to be equipment failure on the top of the power pole in el cerrito. Pg e expects power to be fully restored in the next 15 minutes. Two men are in the hospital after being stabbed in a street fight in San Francisco. It happened at 2 15 this morning on ofarrell and larkin street in the tenderloin district. Police say it started with some kind of fight involving a large crowd. Police say they will now look at Surveillance Video in hope of finding the in hopes of finding the suspect. Anyone with information should call police. A campus supervisor for a Livermore Charter school is accused of molesting a statement. 30yearold jason quero is accused of sexually assaulting a 14yearold girl at Livermore Valley Charter School back in 2010 and 2011. The girl reported the alleged molestation to police last week. Quero was arrested on friday and fired from his job. Were not ruling out the idea of additional victims but we dont have anything that points to additional ville victim victims. Police say he taught karate between 2001 and 2005. Police are asking anyone who thinks their child may have been a victim to come forward. There are new questions about the recent car crash involving oakland mayor jean quan. This is Surveillance Video of her suv moments before it collided with another car at market and 26th in oakland last month. The attorney for the other driver says quan has not provided proof of insurance. The mayor has not responded to our request for comment but she tells the San Francisco chronicle the car is insured by the city. The other drivers Attorney Says hes sent a letter to quan asking for insurance details. Quan said she gave the letter to the citys lawyer. Jury deliberations resume in the civil trial involving former b. A. R. T. Police officer jats. Oscar grants father officer Johannes Mehserle. Oscar grants father says that Johannes Mehserle intentionally killed his son. Heald college is up for sale. Corinthian owns heald. The u. S. So far, theyve not reported any potential buyers. This morning, caltrans is warning drivers about now major closure of interstate 280 in San Francisco that begins tomorrow night. This time the northbound lanes will be closed during the 4th of july Holiday Weekend for freeway repair work. Caltrans is shutting down the lanes between the 101, 280 interchange and downtown San Francisco. The closure is scheduled to begin at 9 00 tomorrow night. The freeway is scheduled to reopen at 5 00 on monday morning. Now, the southbound lanes will remain open. You may remember a stretch of southbound 280 in San Francisco was closed over the memorial day weekend for a similar highway project. Another closure is planned for the labor day Holiday Weekend. Starting today, gas powered leaf blowers are banned in los gatos. In addition, the leaf blowers will be restricted to 65 decibels and can only be used on weekdays between 8 00 and 5 00 p. M. On saturday, 9 00 a. M. And 4 00 p. M. They can not be used on sundays or holidays. Violaters could face fines of as much as 500. This morning, the 49ers will have another mass transit dry run for levi stadium. The 9ers are teaming up with the Valley Transportation Authority to make sure things go smoothly on game days. This morning, they will be looking at best ways to get 9er fans from caltrain to light rail to levi stadium in santa clara. The 49ers have sold out the first season at levi stadium. About 70 of Candlestick Parks season ticketholders bought seats in santa clara but at a high price. New seat licenses cost between 2,000 and 80,000 and thats on top of actual season tickets that cost about twice at candlestick. The 49ers will sell 1500 standingroom only tickets for every game. Fans have to sign up for a rewards program. A boy scout outing turns deadly. Police in san diego are trying to determine if a 12yearold shot himself on purpose or if it was an accident the he was found shot to death inside his tent at Fiesta Island park. There are some there now in a big way. There will still be some low 90s. 50s, 60s in the city. A crash in san jose has snarled all of the south bay traffic. It was in a bad spot. Now people are avoiding 101 and using 280. I will tell you where the accident is in a moment. If you are thinking of 280 as an alternate route, its slow. 280 is slow here. When we go to the maps, you can see its slow all the way into the valley, into the Silicon Valley all the way through. 85 is slow from downtown san jose area as well. The accident is on northbound 101 right near the 880 interchange. It was in the lanes that pushed the toll shore der and it to the shoulder. Traffic is backed up all the way back from neesh the yerba buena exit near the yerba buena exit and it stays that way. All of a sudden the white lines mean a lot of slow traffic heading into the valley getting to palo alto and Mountain View. Give yourself extra time if this is your commute. The bay bridge is moderate. 20minute delay getting into San Francisco which is about normal once you get to the San Francisco side, traffic does ease up. Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. Were following developing news in san jose where a Home Invasion robbery ended with a stolen car crashing into a vacant home. Janine de la vega is at the scene of the Home Invasion with more information on the investigation now underway and how the victims are doing. Janine . Reporter brian, there is still a lot of Police Officers here on the scene. It has been quite an ordeal for the couple that lives here in the gray twostory home right there. Police say the couple was sleeping and they shouldntly woke up to suddenly woke up two find two intruders in there threatening them. Heres a map. The Home Invasion occurred on sun shadow lane in East San Jose around 4 00 this morning. Authorities say the suspects then traveled on highway 101 for several miles where you see the blue line there. In an suv they stole from the home. A chp car followed it and it crashed at singleton and center road. Here is a video. The chp followed the vehicle because it was speeding. They arrested the 15yearold male passenger. Hes at juvenile hall. The male driver ran away which prompted police to set up a promptmy ter and do a perimeter and do a yardtoyard search. They were unable to locate him. Police are processing evidence at the home. Police say the suspects forced their way into the home and woke up the couple who lived there. One of them was assaulted. Police are not revealing details of what weapons they used. That victim was taken to a nearby hospital for nonlife threatening injuries. We asked officers if people in the neighborhood should be concerned. I wouldnt say that theres any particular reason to be more concerned than usual. Everyone should always be on the lookout and be careful. But as to exactly why this happened at this location and why this particular house, thats all part of what were gonna try to learn during our investigation. Reporter the stolen suv was towed from the crash scene and taken by police. They will be taken fingerprints off of it and searches it for evidence. They will be looking to see if any items were stolen from the Home Invasion are located inside. Police continue to have the neighborhood where the Home Invasion occurred roped off with crime tape while they investigate. They are still looking to see if any of the homes around here have surveillance cameras that captured anything and they are conducting interviews. They dont have any description to release for the second suspect still at large in the case. As far as the couple who was robbed, were told by a Police Sergeant here that they are doing remarkably well considering what they just went through. New this morning, firefighters say they spotted more than just flames when responding to a house fire in richmond a few hours ago. Crews say they found a pot growing operation inside a home on hellings avenue. The fire was first reported around 4 00 this morning. Crews had the fire under control a short time later. Investigators say the home was vacant when the fire started. And this morning firefighters are trying to figure out what started a brush fire that threatened a number of homes in south san jose. It burned about 125 acres near santa teresa county park and curry drive, south of highway 8 a. The fire started around 8 a. The fire started around 1 45 yesterday afternoon and spread up the hill. Homes were evacuated near the burnside but people were able to return. One woman said she saw a young man running from the area shortly after the fire started. But fire investigators have not said if they believe the fire was intentionally set. 8 05. In fairfield, firefighters are warning people about the dangers of fireworks after sparklers ignited a large grass fire. It was reported at 9 30 at waterman boulevard above highway 80. Firefighters say this is close to a trailer park for senior citizens. Firefighters say this area has burned several times in the last few years so they knew what to expect. A fire investigator found sparklers near where the fire began. All types of fireworks are illegal in fairfield. This year, the dry conditions and heat make it more dangerous to use them. Lighting them off in the little street is dangerous but in an open field is a recipe for disaster. Firefighters say they were able to get ahead of the fire at the last moment before it got out of control. In oakland, firefighters have set up a collection bin for people who turn in fireworks, no questions asked. All fireworks are illegal in oakland and if you are caught with them, you face a fine of 1,000. Now, on ktvu. Witnesses spot a body in the lanes on northbound 880 near the 8th avenue onramp. A cocacola big rig was pulled over to the side. Investigators are not sure if the truck hit the woman killing her or if the woman jumped from the freeway overcrossing. A busy san jose exit is open after a frightening incident last night. Investigators say a driver committed suicide after leading officers on the highspeed chase and ramming another car. The Sheriffs Office says the mans family alerted authorities that he left the suicide note before driving from their san jose home. Deputies then spotted his car on highway 101 and gave chase. The man took the tully road offramp, hit a car with two people inside, then stopped and shot himself. The two people in the other car were not seriously hurt. San Francisco Police are investigating a mans death which prompted a Hazardous Materials response in the richmond district. Firefighters were doing a welfare check at a building at 43rd and clement yesterday morning. They found a man dead in an apartment and they detected what they thought might be dangerous fumes. That prompted a brief evacuation. But hazmat teams determined there were no dangerous gases and everyone was let back in a few hours later. Happening today if you rely on a. C. Reporter well, good morning. Some people are not hampy about these happy about the paper transfers being eliminated. Starting today, you will have to buy an allday pass to board the bus. That will cost you 5. A. C. Transit wanted to implement program because it would take less time for people to board the bus. Its expected to save money by eliminating fraud from transfers. We spoke to one woman who takes b. A. R. T. And the bus every weekday into oakland for her job. She said instead of paying 1. 25 for her bus transfer now she will have to cough up an extra 3. 25 a day. I came in all the way from antioch. I take the bus. I take b. A. R. T. And then this one. Reporter now, anyone using a clipper card will automatically have the allday pass. She says she will be forced to buy one. The problem is, many riders say clipper cards are not easy for them to fid. They are sold find. They are sold in stores like walgreens but are not widely available in lowincome neighborhood. A. C. Transit is working to fix the problem they say. Rides on the sausalito and larkspur will cost 25 cents more. Fares for clipper cards will not increase as much on some routes. Changes approved by San Francisco muni go into effect. There is a one dollar increase in the price of parking permits for people who live in the city or businesses that operate there. Starting this sunday, parking meters are free again on sundays in most locations and in september, bus fares go up 25 cents. Monthly pass prices will increase 2 to 68. He announced the move last night during a reception at the white house marking pride month. The executive order offers formal protection because it would add gender identity to a list of other protected classes such as race. Advocates say the move is a powerful act of recognition for the transgender community. San Francisco Police are investigating a possible hate crime after two women were attacked during gay pride weekend. It happened saturday along 9th street near mission at 5 30 p. M. Last night Union Members met for an emergency meeting to review the agreement formally announced yesterday. Muni operators would get a 14 raise over three years enough to cover increased pension costs to the workers. But it could still be a tough sell to many rank and file muni workers. I think its a great sign that we got to a point that the Union Leadership seems happy with. Its a deal if it works for us, its a deal that seems to work for them. Californias drought is forcing some campers to find somewhere else to go this summer. San mateo county is closing the popular Memorial Park in loma mar to overnight campers through midoctober. Pescadero creek is the only water source to the park and the water has dropped to an emergency level. The park is now giving people who had reservations a refund or changing their reservations to next year. Its a move the park says will cost them 350,000 this summer. Even though its off limits to overnight campers, people can still use the 500acre park during the day. Being im 87, i dont have too many more years i can do this. Its sad. Ives been camping all our lives. This is the first time anything like this has happened. People who visit the park during the day will have to bring their own water. A South Carolina state trooper has been suspended without pay after threatening to use a taser on an nfl player during a traffic stop. We have a lot of slow traffic on the south bay commute because of an earlier crash and also because its the middle of the commute here. 101 we had a crash at 880 it wasnt in the lanes for a bit. It was an injury crash. Chp and the First Responders did a good job in getting it out of the lanes. But the damage is done. 101 is very slow so is 280 in the area. If you are driving up let me get raid of it. If you are rid of it. If you are driving northbound 101 i think it will be slow all the way up to palo alto as you drive up to the lawrence expressway and beyond that. Southbound 101 is also very slow into Mountain View. If you can use 280 as an alternate that would be better. 880 northbound. Superslow all of a sudden getting up to the commute with downtown oakland. Its probably something new because a second ago we checked it out and things were lighter than usual. Theres something going on. Well get to the bottom of it here on northbound 880 as you come up. It looks like there is a crash, northbound 880 at oak street. All lanes were open but i guess it had an effect on traffic as far back as the coliseum. And finally, at the bay bridge toll plaza, this is about a 15 minute dray delay. Well keep following 880 where that crash at oak street has made a mess of the commute. Alex savidge joins us live now and alex, whats going on out there . Reporter right now, Vallejo Police officers are behind me clearing out this abandoned building. If you listen here, you can hear an officer is using a loudspeaker right now on the megaphone ordering people inside of that building to come out right now. They are warning people, anyone who is still hiding out inside the building that the building will be boarded up shortly. This action is being taken one day after police came and they cleared this place out and boarded the building up. But late last night, someone boarded up the place and someone says at least 30 Homeless People stayed here overnight. Neighbors say this world war ii era building at tennessee and wilson avenue has been an eyesore for the past decade. Its known for prostitution, drug dealing and violent crime. The city has cleared the place out on several occasions and again, they were ju. Here yesterday and now they were just here yesterday and they were taking some action. Let me show you video. They were pulling some people out voluntary. They were coming out and being placed into handcuffs and being taken away. One person staying here last night, one of the squatters living inside this building says that he is aware and everybody inside is aware that they are trespassing but he says they just dont have any other options. Every time they come in and secure it, well tear the door off. Im under the assumption that the city is supposed to supply with us a homeless shelter. And this building was known as the badge and pass building. It was the first stop to get onto the old Mare Island Navy base. Police say over the years, its turned into a haven for the homeless in the area. Neighbors say they would like to see this building demolished and thats something that the city is looking into. But again, the action were seeing this morning, just about a halfhour or oago, a number of a halfhour ago, a number of officials moved into the building and they realized there were quite a few people inside. Were told 30 people stayed inside. Vallejo police are ordering all of those people to come out. The building will be boarded back up. It happened at 2 15 this morning on ofarrell and larkin in the tenderloin district. Police say it started with some kind of fight involving a large crowd. Police say they will look at Surveillance Video in hopes of finding the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police. His job was to protect students. Now a campus supervisor for a Livermore Charter school is accused of molesting a former student. 30yearold jason quero is accused of sexually assaulting a 14yearold girl at Livermore Charter school back in 2010 and 2011. The girl reported the alleged molestation to police last week. Quero was arrested on friday and fired from his job. Were not ruling out the idea of additional victims but we dont have anything thats pointing to additional victims. Were hoping that parents will talk to their kids. Police say quero also taught cau rautty class karate classes. Police are asking anyone who thinks their child may have been a victim to come forward. There are new questions about the recent car crash involving oakland mayor jean quan. This is Surveillance Video of mayor quans suv moments before it collided with another car at market and 26th streets. The attorney for the other driver said quan has not provided proof of insurance. The mayor has not responded to our request for comment but she tells the chronicle the car is insured by the city. The other drivers attorney said hes sent a letter to quan asking for insurance details and quan says she gave the letter to the citys lawyer. Caltrans is warning drivers about another major closure of 280 in San Francisco that begins tomorrow night. This time, the northbound lanes will be closed during the 4th of july Holiday Weekend for freeway repair. Caltrans is shutting down the lanes between the 101 280 interchange in downtown San Francisco. The closure scheduled to begin at 9 00 tomorrow night. The freeway is scheduled to reopen at 5 00 on monday morning. Now the southbound lanes will remain open. And we have a major new piece of information on the developing news weve been following since early this morning. A homeinvasion robbery ended with a stolen car crashing into a home a few miles away. Janine de la vega is at the scene of the Home Invasion where she just learned the investigation has taken a disturbing turn. Reporter we just learned from police that one of the victims in this Home Invasion, an 85yearold woman was sexually assaulted by one of the suspects during this crime that occurred in this neighborhood near capitol expressway and ocala. Thats why crime scene technicians have been taking their time collecting evidence. Here is a map of the two crime scenes. This occurred on sun shadow lane in East San Jose around 4 00 a. M. This morning. Authorities say the suspect traveled on highway 101 for several miles where you see that yellow line in an suv they had stolen from the home. The chp car followed it and it crashed at singleton and senter road. Here is video of the red suv that crashed into a vacant home. Chp officers didnt realize it was tied to a Home Invasion. They started to follow it because it was speeding. After the vehicle crashed, they arrested the 15yearold male passenger. The male driver ran away which prompted police to set up a perimeter and do a yard to yard search. They were unable to locate him. Police are processing evidence at the Home Invasion. They say the elderly couple was sleeping and was woken up by two intruders. Thats when the woman was sexually assaulted. Police are not revealing too many details. A couple lives at the residence. Forcible entry was made. They woke up to find people in their house. What happened of a that. The robbery took place. Im not gonna get into much more detail than that. There were weapons involved. They will be taking fingerprints off of it, searching for evidence looking to see if there are any stolen items from the Home Invasion inside of it.
