There is also a napa turning west, southwest at fairfield. Well keep an eye on it and see if it picks up a little bit. But right now that is not the sign yet. Sunny and warm to hot. Not as high as yesterday. It will be close for inland areas. That fog is is moving up the coast. Temperatures there could hit the 70s by 11 00 and then by 1 00 it would be 64 degrees like in daily city and pacifica. All right sal on this friday anything new yet . Bay area bracing for may day protests today. One of the biggest demonstrations expected to be at the port of oakland. Ktvu fox 2 Tara Moriarty is there now at the port of oakland to tell us how this could effect port operations. Good morning, tara. Reporter good morning. The answer to that question is it could actually close the port so that would obviously have a huge impact. We know that in about a half an hour that some of the port workers will be stopping work. Others will be arriving. They will assemble and get ready for a march and a rally. We know around 9 00 protestors nonport workers are supposed to arrive. All was calm here yesterday at the port. Today you can expect it will be chaotic. Loping shoreman says in honor of International Workers day they will gather here and protest for four hours. There will be a labor rally at Frank Ogawa Plaza at noon and antipolice march. Oaklands mayor says that the city will be keeping a watchful eye on things. We are here to support and facilitate the peaceful expression of ideas of even protests and anger but we will not tolerate the destruction of property or harm to people. And we have put the appropriate plans in place. Reporter not only will the port will be snarled this morning, but so will the morning commute. Other protestors expected to effect bart. Organizers are asking people to lock tech shuttle buses from facebook, google, and apple. All of which will be stopping at the mccarthur bart station. Now to the situation in baltimore. A city that remains on edge nearly two weeks after the death of freddy gray. Police investigators have turned over their findings to a prosecutor and they concluded during his arrest freddy gray suffered a serious head injury inside a prisoner van that was taking him to jail. One injury indicates that he was struck by a pa trueing bolt in the van. The driver also made an extra stop that had not been reported previously but investigators are not revealing the nature of that stop. This does not mean that the investigation is over. If new evidence is found we will follow it. If new direction is given by the states attorney, we will obey it. Police add thicker fews are working and officers are gearing up for two major marchs that are scheduled in baltimore. We also received new damage numbers from mondays riots. 15 buildings and more than 140 cars were set on fire. 98 officers were injured. A march in philadelphia in sal darety with the baltimore protestors erupted into violence last night. Demonstrators tried to block the entrance to a major freeway and ended up clashing with police. Officers attempted to push back the crowd while some protestors hurled bottles and other objects at police. At least three people were arrested. That march lasted more than six hours. Time is 5 07. Here in california the American Civil Liberties union launched a new app. It lets you record and up load cell phone videos of possible polysemies conduct. The app is called mobile justice. The recorded videos are sent to the aclu. They are preserved even if the phone is destroyed. The California Peace Officers Association has made no comment yet about this app but in the past police advocates have said that people recording the Police Officers might interfere with police work in an already tense situation. San franciscos minimum wage goes up today from 11. 05 an hour to 12. 25 an hour. San francisco will have one of the highest minimum wages in the nation. Along with oakland which by the way raised its minimum wage to 12. 25 an hour in march. In San Francisco it will keep rising every year until it reaches 15 an hour in 2018. If you drive between richmond and emery vail this summer, you will see Something Different on the electronic billboards out there. Officials will be testing roadside messages and electronic speed limit signs. Its all about of the i80 smart corridor program. Organizers say protests today will target a variety of issues including workers rights and police brutality. Protest organizers are calling for people to come out and disrupt the morning commute at the mccarthur bart station. The target is tech companies. Protestors planning to block tech shuttle buss from facebook, google, and apple. All of which stopped there at the mccarthur station. It will probably inconvenience the people on the bus. These people are out here for a purpose. Got to do what youve got to do. Bart says the mccarthur station will be open and operating as nor hall. Oakland Police Officers plan to work 12 hour shifts and will have at least two officers per patrol car. Protests also planned at the port of oakland. They have its members hundreds of people are expected to join a may day watch in San Francisco. People from around the bay area are expected to attend that one. San Francisco Police are busy searching for a hit and run driver and two victims who were in a crash that was recorded and posted on youtube. Take a look a at this. This was recorded april 18th. The gray car on the right it almost hit those people crossing the street. And then when the light turns green look. The driver quickly turns left. Right in front of on coming traffic. Clips a car and then speeds away. Hitting a pedestrian in the crosswalk on the left. Right there. Now the driver with the dash cam video says the pedestrian appeared to be okay. Even walked away. Still the police want to find the people involved in this. There is a crime. Est potentially if there is injuries which makes it a felony hit and run. So this video does help out a lot but again we do need to open up an investigation there. San Francisco Police hope to enhance the video to get that license plate number of this hit and run car. In order to file any charges against the driver, they also need to find the pedestrian as well as the driver of the car that was hit. For the first time the father of a nineyearold boy stabbed to death in Discovery Bay is talking about the loss of his son. And although he is no longer with us, we know that jordi is still an angel looking down on us from above. Jordan was stabbed while sleeping in his home saturday night. William schultz a friend of jordans older brother spent the night and can killed him. The family home will remain open to the friend of his children. With jordis memory in our hearts, we will continue to offer our love and home to our family and friends and our childrens friends as we know that is what jordi would have wanted us to do. The family says a Public Service for jordan is scheduled for next friday in brentwood. Schultz made his First Court Appearance earlier this month and made a plea of knot. Happening today a new report is due to come out that says many of americas hospitals are struggling financially especially in rural areas. According to the associated press, more rural hospitals around the country closed in the last two years than in the previous decade. There have been 106 recent hospital closures. Hundreds more are said to be vulnerable. Here in california nine hospitals have closed since 2010. Two of them in rural areas. Ten more hospitals are considered to be financially challenged. After closing last year, one Bay Area Hospital beat the odds and about to reopen with a new name and a new look. Meet dr. Robot. He is going to help sebastopol former Palm Drive Hospital keep costs down when it reopens as sonoma west medical center. The hospital will have all private rooms equipped for family sleepovers and room service from a hospital cafe. Officials say it would not be possible without the help of the community that donated money to bring that hospital back to life. You couldnt do this in small town iowa or small town texas. What the advantages that we have in west Sonoma County is we have world class doctors right here in this community. The hospital shut down last year due to financial problems but officials predict with their new Business Model in one year they will break even. They say one of the biggest selling points of this hospital will be emergency room wait times which will average about five minutes compared to an hour at nearby hospitals. Time is 5 38. That fog has plenty to get her going and once it makes the move, it usually does but it takes its time coming up the coast. Very shallow. It will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy later. And a few thundershowers popping up. You can see some of that fog working its way up the coast and then it looks like it starts to fill in. I think this is a little quick but after 1 00 it should make its move to San Francisco and start to fill in along the entire coast. They will cool down but the inland temps have to wait until tomorrow. I think we get a late breeze here and the fog sets up for the entire weekend. So sunny and warm. Fog moves up the coast so today is still warm to hot. I think we topped out yesterday. And tomorrow we will take those temps and everyone takes a pretty good tumble here. Sunny and warm today.
