next week. time now 5:24. some alarming new numbers about california high school graduation. one out of five students dropped out last year. in all 94,000 students did not get a high school diploma. that is 18%. now here in the bay area, oakland had a drop out rate of 37%. san francisco had a considerably lower rate of 11%. now the state of california says the new numbers can not be compared to past years because they are using a new and more accurate formula. this year eighth graders were taken into consideration. state-wide 3.5% of eight graders left school and didn't come back for the ninth grade. the state superintendent says dropping out may be caused by several problems that may include falling behind in subjects or pressure in some families to earn money instead of staying in breaking into new folsom prison remains in jail this morning accused of violating his parole. as we first told you yesterday police say someone jumped the prison fence late wednesday night or early her body. >> reporter: good morning. an autopsy is scheduled for the pregnant woman who police say she was mauled by her very own pit bull. theying to -- trying to determine if there are any clues why they attacked. investigators say the 32-year- old was savagedly attacked by her own dog sometime after her husband left for work around 8:00. he returned at noon to find her laying on their floor. beaten, bleeding, and not breathing. >> found the dog hovering around his wife on the ground. she had major trauma to the upper body and face. >> reporter: now napora did not make it. she died an officers say while they were trying to revive her, they actually had to shoot the dog when it broke free and lunged at them. authorities say they had no prior problems at the house. the husband is now staying with family. there was also another pit bull in the home not involved in the attack. it's also at the humane society and may be released to the husband some sometime today. we are live in p.m.. investigators say the two men burst into the warehouse, locked up several workers, and police got a frantic cell phone call a short-time later. >> we had an employee of an armored car company
