burglary, uncovered a pot growing operation. this is a frustrating investigation for police. >> reporter: police are frustrating because this is the second time that they have made the same find. this is on 12th avenue and 12th street. a burglary call came in after midnight. this is where police found a marijuana equipment plant. authority recovered two large garbage bags full of marijuana and took two suspects into custody. the first was trying to jump a fence when they and helped him. the second was jumping on nearby roof tops trying to get away. a police dog attacked the suspect, biting him three times. he was treated here at the hospital. >> they said, what are you doing? i'm talking to my girl and that's all that happened. >> reporter: again, police came here two years ago after a report of a disturbance at the same location. they they took two men into custody and suspicion of burglary and found four rooms full of plant. the men were allegedly trying to steal them. officers would not say if the same was true in this case. we don't know how much these marijuana plants were worth. we are estimating thousands but aren't sure at this point. we are trying to receive confirmation from the observing leaned police department. police are extremely frustrate by. this police are short on personnel because of layoffs and have to respond to the same crime they solved two years ago. more on the young man who was stabbed at a high school. kraig debro is live from milbrae high school. >> reporter: i spoke to the watch commander here at the milbrae police commander here and he said that the suspect, the man you see in the back of the squad car, has been questioned by investigators in this case. police are not saying what the man said. they were not releasing his name or telling us where he lives. the man is now in the san mateo county jail. both suspects will likely face charges in the death of 20-year- old jared haffa. witnesses say that he was stabbed. >> just want to know what happened was lying there and dy >> reporter: according to his parents, he was supposed to go to auto mechanics class at skyline junior college that name he may have done that but ended up at the tennis courts in the sky school. jared had been involved in a fight. the fight may have been over a cigarette. but his parents say that the fight may have been over a woman. today is another very important day in the contentious legal battle over proposition 8 and same-sex marriage. the judge who overturned the block on the ban issued a temporary stay. the judge will hear arguments as to whether the marriage should resume while on appeal. when the judge makes his decision on the stay, we'll post that online as well. police in antioch have surveillance photo from a bank robbery at that they hope will track down to men. the man held up a branch on lone tree way shortly after noon time. they got away with a cash on a honda civic driven by a fourth person. the car was last seen going north on hill crest avenue toward wild hoarst drive. the san francisco police department is laughing a pilot program involving some of muni's most dangerous lines. that will involve 13 has now become the chief of al-qaeda global operations. the suspect has taken over the job once held by the september 11th mastermindwho was captured in 2003. this is the first time a leader intimately familiar with american society has been put in charge. the white house is demanding that wikileak stop publishing classified documents. they have told them to pull the thousands of way for those security problems recently discovered in its iphones, ipads. the concern is about certain pdf files that are downloaded. hackers can use those pdf files to gain access to information somebody can access the data that's on the phone. if you are concerned about identity theft, this could be the way it do that. that's a relatively high concern. >> apple is not saying when the software update is available. if you come across a pdf file that you not familiar with, do not download it. >> marin county supervisors are given the go ahead to scrap a security system the county already spend 30 million-dollar on. the system should be phased out and replaced as soon as possible. they say there have been so many problems that a new system will be more efficient and cost millions of dollars less than maintaining the current one displjts and in santa cruz, the sheriff deputies have been documenting the number of homeless still camping out on the steps of the county courthouse. demonstrators began camping there july 4th in protest of a city wide camping ban. the protesters want the law scrapped or create more shelters or camping grounds. a friend of former b.a.r.t. police officer johannes mehserle is now speaking out. he reveals details about how mehserle acted in the hours and days after he shot and killed b.a.r.t. passenger oscar grant. that friend fears for his safety but he agreed to talk to ktvu news if we didn't reveal his identity. he does not defend mehserle's actions on january 1st, 2009 but says he want people to know that mehserle was deeply, emotionally affected. >> i'm saying that people have no right to do that. these were the worst types. there were times he broke down a lot. >> mehserle's friends says that mehserle never made >> caught -- was caught. kraig? >> reporter: the suspect has surrendered to police. that, after the parents of the victim says that they have forgiven him. jared says they will forgive his son's killer, partly because they are religious. >> we must forgive. >> we would rather him turn around. we have too many good memories for too many good things. there noise room for hate or feelings of revenge. >> reporter: in this video we shot late last night, you are not going to be able to see the person but there is a person in the back of the car. this is one of two suspect in jared's homicide. the 20-year-old has spoken to investigators but they would not say what they said to investigators. he did turn himself in. if that's true, we might get a confession pretty soon here. not sure. we are watching out for that. police say that several people witnessed the stabbing at the tenis courts here in milbrae. a fight happened. police would not say what started the fight. but he refused a request for a cigarette from one the formatio was doing just before he made it to the high school that night. kraib, ktvu channel 2 2 news. -- channel 2 news police got a disturbance call about two suspicious men. when police arrived, they arrested one man. the other suspect escaped but he is captured right there by a police don't we talked to one of the men at the scene but he denied any wrongdoing. >> i was there>> reporter: when police checked out the building, they found several bags of marijuana and sol growing equipment. they told us it's frustrating because this is not the first time there was a pot bust at that location. two years ago, investigators confiscated about 100 marijuana plant from that very sim place. >> officials say they will continue to look for suspect who they could not track down duringyesterday's sweep. it was the first southern operation in the county this year. 48 people were arrested, 33 of them suspected gang members. officers confiscated two guns, two ma chess, more than 100 marijuana plants and some cash. >> we act as a deterrent for those who may be on parole, supervision, so that they won't engage in this coined kind -- this kind of activity. >> parole agents say they are now able to track more parolees with the help of new ankle bracelets. police arrested a 15-year- old boy for indesent exposure he was on a bicycle and rode past a mother and her daughters without any pants on. the young man was booked into the county's juvenile detention center. >> two people have been arrested in solano county in what officials say was a deliberately set fire at the vallejo courthouse. the fire went to three alarms. it heavily damaged the court's offices. 40-year-old octavio walton faces charges. investigator have not made a statement about possible motive police are launching a pilot program to improve safety on muni following a rash of violent crimes. good morning, ali. >> reporter: good morning, pam. they are called community aim bats doors and they will be rioting the muni train t line. they are also going to be on the 9 san bruno line and those investigators will be on the trail during the early evening and early morning hours. there are 12 ambassadors in the program and they speak seven different leaning wages between them. police chief interdues the ambassadors to the community. >> their role out there in the community is to provide information to the community to assist people who need it. they are not part of the police department. this is not a police department initiative. >> the ambassadors program was created in response to several violent attacks on the muni and the 3rd street t line in the bay view area. several victims were elderly and members of the city's asian community. san francisco police chief says that the chinesechamber of commerce it suggested that the program be implemented. the hope is that their presence on the train will make them feel more comfortable. there is a problem with vial en, particularly violence with our seniors in the chinese speaking community. the funding for that program runs out mid-september. city leaders say they are in the process of trying other revee sources to keep this ambassador program going. reporting live in san francisco, allie rasmus. let's go to sal. you are still watching marin county?
