The big concern is in the Santa Cruz Mountains where the loma wildfire left a large burn scar and land vulnerable to those mud slides. Ktvu Leigh Martinez joins us from the Santa Cruz County near highway 17 with the conditions in the area. Leigh . Reporter well ken, we are drying off right now, the sun has been trying to come out for the later part of the day. We never made it up to the burns area because on our way up to the mountain our road was blocked by a down tree and what appeared to be either a telephone or powerline. So we never made it up there. Earlier it was pouring. Youre going to take a look at highway 17 and you can see that it is still kind of dark out there, so the road is still a little wet, but it is hard from picking up any spray. But earlier, i mean morning and afternoon it was pouring pretty much nonstop, pretty heavy at times. On our route up to the mountains we saw a lot of debris and a lot of land just sliding down on tot road below. Relentless rain leads to a lot of this. Which fed into the creek and created very unstable health views. Locals stay dry indoors, but Salt Lake City native wanted to take advantage of Santa Cruz Mountain trails on the Mountain Bike location. Theyre great with just some water and some mud. It is a beautiful scenery. Nothing that i thought it would be dangerous or uncomfortable. Its a good time to be had. Local fire and Law Enforcement were worried that debris could slide down the mountain. The National Weather service had the Flash Flood Warning up until 6 00 p. M. Sunday. Now we are past that point for that Flash Flood Warning. As you can see it is dry out here now. I did call over to the Santa Cruz CountySheriffs Office just to see if they have had any reports of flooding or rock slides and they have not had any. Back to you. Thats very good news. Leigh martinez live in Santa Cruz Mountains. Thank you, leigh. The rain flooded parts of 101 highway in San Francisco today. This is what it looks like near the paul avenue exit.
