Miller was released from the team yesterday just hours after his arrest and booking on assault charges. Ktvu Tara Moriarty spoke to a Family Member and the victims today as they say that miller threatened to kill them. Reporter bruce miller is seen here in his photo with what looks like stitches on their forehead. The 29yearold former 49er could be seen in Surveillance Video from the travel lodge near Fishermans Wharf early monday morning, looking bloodied and disoriented. Witnesses say that miller was drinking heavily and was highly intoxicated when he was spotted throwing up on the motel steps a little after 3 00 in the morning. Police say that 15 minutes earlier miller attacked a 70 yearold man and his son at the Marriott Hotel across the street trying to enter their room. The 70yearold was knocked out cold and suffered broken bones to the face. He remains in the hospital right now recovering under what is call add trauma name so it is what is called a trauma name so he is protected by his identity. The family wishes to be anonymous because miller even threatened to kill them. The sports agent told ktvu that there are two sides to every story and that he is waiting until more facts emerge before commenting. San jose police say that they have arrested a convicted sex offender who tried to kidnap two young women in san jose last week. 56yearold David Lee Russell was taken into custody in North San Jose near oakland road and charles avenue around 9 30 this morning. Police say that they received a number of tips from the public that would help them figure out where he would be at that particular time. And our officers, they were able to make the car stop. A lot of them were in unmarked cars. That we are using a lot of those type of, you know, tactics in order to take this guy safely out and as quickly as possible and it worked. Police say that russell was alone and unarmed. Hell be booked into the santa clara jail on attempted kidnapping and other charges. Friends and family of the missing San Francisco girl are marking her third birthday today. Its been six months since anyone has seen little ariana fitz. Her mother, nicole was found dead back in april. The last people to see ariana are three babysitters from the east bay who Authorities Say they remain a person of interest in her disappearance. The childs aunt says that the pain of not knowing where her niece is has been excruciating. And for anyone who knows where she is or who has that, im pleading. And police today, they would step up their patrols around the local high school after the teenager allegedly made threats against their fellow students online. Police say that they arrested a 17yearold boy yesterday. And who attends Fremont High School in sunnyvale. They say that she made threats on social media towards a specific group of students. The investigators would trace their messages back to the teenager and they arrested him for criminal threats and a possible hate crime. He was then booked into juvenile hall. In oakland, police say that the woman suspected in a dui crash early this morning that they left one of her Adult Children critically injured. Police say that the woman was driving a white suv with her two adult sons in it when they lost control and the car flipped over. It happened about 1 20 this morning on san leandro street near high street and 45th avenue. One of her sons suffered critical injuries being rushed to the hospital. She and her other son suffered minor injuries. City hall in redwood city was evacuated today because of a suspicious bundle that looked like a bomb. A Maintenance Worker found a bomb with wires sticking found a package with wires sticking out. Authorities say it was made to look like a real bomb. A part of middlefield road shut down while a bomb squad disabled that device. They determined it was fake and reopened city hall about an hour and a half later. No word of any arrest or why someone left that bomb at city hall. And a huge for profit chain of vocational schools were forced to close their doors. If we do go to that school we will acquire the debt from this school as well. The school blamed the government. We believe the governments action was inappropriate and unconstitutional. But for the most these people were in serious trouble because for those veterans a part of their schooling is in fact their ability to have an apartment, to have some way to get that education. The drug maker upped the price of the lifesaving allergy treatment to 600 for a pack of two. In 2006 that same pack cost just 100. Reporter there are quite a few details. They needed to fill out the paperwork. Turner will be a registered sex offender for life and will serve three years probation. On the Sheriffs Department questionnaire, turner had to discuss the crime he was convicted for and information about the victim. He filled out that he didnt note victims eye color and for her race he apparently put something down, but then crossed it out and wrote american. It is unclear what he initially wrote and then went on to say that the questions about how many times it occurred if alcohol or drugs were involved. And how he met the victim. Turner who is now 21 appeared at the Sheriffs Office with his parents. His mother tried to shield him from news cameras while filling out the sex offender registry. He had an interview with the sheriff deputy who entered him into the nationwide data base for sex offenders. Because of his convictions in california, under ohio law turner is classified as a tier three sex offender. The highest level. The the entire process took about 20 minutes. Turner was expelled from Stanford University before completing his freshman year. He was convicted in march of three counts of Sexual Assault of an unconscious woman behind a dumpster on stanfords campus. And he served three months at a sixmonth sentence, shortened because of good behavior. Now after his release on Santa Clara County jail, turner returned to his parents home in bell brook, ohio. The relatively lenient sentence sparked nationwide outrage. Armed protesters lined up outside turners home waiting for his arrival this weekend. Two protesters remain outside today. And now turner will be sentenced, he will be required to update his sex offender registration every 90 days. His neighbors will also be notified by postcards and that the sex offender lives near them. Officers could make random unannounced visits to his home. Leigh martinez ktvu fox 2 news. Bill cosby is set to stand trial next year during a hearing in a Pennsylvania Court today. The judge set june 5 for the trial date for the comedians Sexual Assault case. Cosby and his attorneys were in the court hoping to get thrown out testimony. Cosby gave testimony several years ago. He reportedly acknowledged that he gave the alleged victims several pills before what he calls consensual sexual encounter. Almost 30 years after an 11 yearold boy vanished from his neighborhood, a minnesota man confessed today to abducting and killing the little boy. 53yearold Danny Heinrich made the admission while in court pleading guilty to federal child pornography charges. When the judge asked heinrich if he kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and murdered 1year old jacob wetterling, heinrich said, yes, i did. Heinrich also said that after handcuffing jacob, reporting the boy in his car, jacob asked him what did i do wrong . Heinrich describes sexually assaulting the little boy, then shooting him in the back of the head and burying his body. The case had baffled police and the boys family for 27 years. And after the hearing, jacobs mother spoke to reporters. Just so i could say that life will go on that i want to see jacob. Im so sorry. Its incredibly painful to know that his last days, the last hours, last minutes. Because for us jacob was alive. That he would be found until we found him. Under a plea deal heinrich agreed to direct the investigators to the boys remains which he did last week. In exchange heinrich was not charged in the boys death, but agreed to serve 20 years in federal prison for receiving child pornography. And the deal was made with the approval of jacobs family. And there are new developments today in the disappearance of cal poly student kristin smart 20 years ago. The st. Louis Sheriff Department said on their website that they would begin excavating the cite on the campus today in search of their remains, disappearing on may 25, 1996 on her way back to her dorm from an offcampus party. The investigators say that detection dogs indicated a possible burial site on a hillside near the cal poly p landmark. They are disclosing the excavation because of the high profile nature of the search. State and federal agents are investigating an iconic river boat that capsized in a sacramento delta. Theyre trying to identify the two men who abandoned the spirit of sacramento near buffel island, proving to be a real challenge. There is an air boom as we know that two people, they did escape the sinking boat early sunday morning. And that their identities would remain a mystery. The federal judge said no today to a highway widening project by cal trance in pacifica cal trans in pacifica. They said that cal trans failed to honestly evaluate the projects impact on the endangered redlegged frog and San Francisco garden snakes. That the 50 million project would damage the wetlands, harm wildlife, and block coastal views. The court ruled that the environmental approval for the project is invalid.
