That was the basis of the settlement, providing 7 million for each victim. The Insurance Company is paying the money. This is a substantial amount. It seems to be on the high end of these kinds of cases. Reporter the amount of the settlement could influence other cases but since it happened so long ago insurance premiums wont necessarily go up. We spoke with the woman whose case helped the victims win the settlement and she declined to speak but said i hope coming to an agreement with the School District brings peace for them and i am proud that we have raised awareness and School Districts will be reminded to think of the children who deserve to be protected. She was abused by Daniel Witters and [ audio difficulties ] following developing news where firefighters put out a grass fire that burned close to homes. The fire started on an onramp to 780. Glen cove. It burned 2 acres in all but sent smoke up into the air. Luckily firefighters were able to get it handle on it. In sunnyvale fire ripped through two homes today. The fire started about 9 30 a. M. This morning. Luckily no one was hurt. Even though one nearby homeowner hosed his home down. It was a tree trimmer working nearby who spotted the smoke and rushed in. Ktvus ann rubin spoke to him about how he helped get the people inside to safety. Reporter he reacted quickly, going inside a home. Residents say without him the outcome might have been different. The fire spread quickly.
