Youll also find these candied or sweet with a lot of sugar, so, i kept my seasonings actually pretty nimal here, with juju about o or three things, so you can add whatever else you wted here. But we are using a mix of pecans, walnuts, and almonds. And youll notice that i have just the plain, um, the naturals they call them. Theyre not toasted or roasted, they have no salt added. So these are really great. You can use all three of these, you can use one or two of these, any mix that you like. I just used equal parts of all. S they have a kick. W and, you know, i would actually put kayan pepper in this specific one if i were making this at home. But to get started, all you want to do is toast all of these. So, these are probably going to take five or ten minutes, and, as you can see in my pan here, i just have equal parts of all these, and you want to keep stirring constantly, especially if you have walnuts. Those walnuts burn really fast, and once you burn it, you really have to throw it away and start over, theres no way to get them out. S and nuts are expensive. W and nuts are expensive. So just, about mediumlow heat, and continually stirring until theyre toasted. Really how you know theyre done, um, theyre warm. When you put your hand over the top, theyre warm. And you can really start to smell them. Their fragrance is the big one that tells you theyre probably all the way toasted. So once these are warm, you want to make sure you add the seasonings when theyre warm, because they soak up the oils in their seasonings a lot better. So, in my bowl, i just have a little bit of olive oil already, and im going to make kind of a paste in the bottom of here. And today im using chili powder, cuman, and then a little bit of salt and pepper, and like i said, you can add so much to these spiced nuts. And these, see i dont think these are very spicy. Thats why s oh you dont . Okay. W thats why if i were making these at home, i would definitely add some kayan pepper or red pepper flakes, just to give it an extra kick. But this is just a good way y y can add ur own personal spin to Something Like this. And while these are still warm. Im sorry my cast iron s dont hurt yourself. W its so heavy. S be careful. Dumping nuts all over. W thats alright. You just want to add these while they are still warm, and then keep stirring until you have them all nice and w oh no. Nope. S oh, you wanna do it . W ive got it. And like i said, it works just so much better when theyre warm, they kind of coat everything a lot better, and these are just a really good heart healthy snack, but keep in mind, with those fats come a lot of calories. So you want to make sure youre portioning out. Of i would go about a max of a quarter cup each serving that you have here. S of the nuts. And can you do a sweet or are you doing a savory one . W ou can definitely do a sweet one. You can use a sugar substitute with the sweet ones if you wanted to cut the calories down a little more. But keep in mind, those sugared ones or those candied ones usually have more calories because of the sugar, and the spices are calorie free. Theres a little bit in the oil, butut really only had a teaspoon in the e ttom. S alright, well im pry gonna have more than a quarter of a cup of nuts today, whitney.
