These runners left union square at 6 30. Just leaving this morning as we take a live look. The nike womens Half Marathon features about 25,000 runners today, all here in San Francisco. The run today is tourism awareness for leukemia. Thats why many of these runners are all dressed in purple. One woman won her battle with cancer nine years ago and this morning is running her first marathon. This is kind of my way up being like, im a survivor, i had cancer but i can make something so positive of it and be helpful to other people. I have to do this. I have to inform people what its like to be a survivor. And these women are running from Union Square West through Golden Gate Park. Youll find various street closures this morning but its all for a good cause. You can see many of them leaving the square. A lot of costumes and a lot of purple this morning. Reporting live from downtown San Francisco. A lot of folks running for a great cause. Its one to write. The giants win. It never gets old very world series fever hitting the bay area. Giants gearing up in the city of San Francisco getting ready to welcome a large influx of visitors. We spoke with local businesses who have another reason to be excited about this extended baseball season. Festival starts at 9 00, runs until 5 00 and admission is free. As thousands of people in their cars had south on highway one for the festival, traffic in pacifica was backed up for blocks. It was especially congested this year because of construction on the highway at the south end of town. Authorities searching for missing university of virginia student Hannah Graham made a startling discovery saturday. Human remains have been found on an abandoned property in albemarle county, virginia. These are human remains. Tests need to be conducted to determine the identification of those remains. Police have notified her parents of the discovery, though positive identification could take some time. Todays discovery is a significant development. We have a great deal of work ahead of us. Surveillance footage of the downtown mall shows graham leaving a bar 12 00 a. M. September 13th. The video also capture suspect Jesse Matthew following her. Matthew was taken into custody september 24th in galveston, texas. Hes the only person whos been detained in connection of her disappearance. A cruise ship carrying a texas lab worker who may have handled specimens from ebola patient Thomas Duncan is docked in galveston, texas. She got a butterfly rash on her face which is typical with people with lupus. She passed away at 38. She went through bouts of hospital stays with heart issues, lung issues. According to the new york times, through police reports, detailed the officers side of what happened the day that brown was shot. Officer Darren Wilson told police he tried to get out of his car but that brown solved him back in. He says brown pinned him inside the vehicle and struggled to gran for his gun. In recent months, parking leading into Lime Ridge Open Space to hike, bike and enjoy the stunning valley views has come at a painful price for some visitors. Piles of glass, im definitely worried about it. I try to hide my stuff. Since the end of summer, Concord Police say auto burglaries on this lot have spiraled out of control. This week at the request of the police department, the bushes surrounding the lot were removed by the City Department of public works. Last week, i was afraid of parking up here, so i parked my car down in the neighborhood, and then i road my bike rode my bike here just so i didnt expose my car to theft. The most recently, some 400 drop box user names and passwords were leaked online. Here to talk about what you can do and also what you can do to protect your business as well is our local security expert. His name is marson from malware bytes. Good morning, tell us about what happened with this drop box situation. In the simplest form, a heark posted about 400 passwords online and claimed they were drop box passwords. Claimed they had 7 million more and would post them if he got donations through the web site. Looking for money here. Okay. Drop box came out publicly they were not breached and the passwords were not there. A Third Party Service and a collection of services were breached and these passwords were posted online. They worked with drop box. In other words, they keep the same password. We cant keep track of all them. Were all guilty of this. Of course. Thats rule number one. Dont share passworded on multiple web sites. And also to keep it complicated, if you can. 8 characters is the recommended minimum. And you should put numbers, symbols, characters that, you know, to make those passwords more complex. Its hard to remember, though,. Who can remember that, exactly. I use the password utility. Helps remember all of the passwords on various web site. I dont know my passwords to multiple web sites. I use a Third Party App to last pass. Theres several other that you use. You recommend people use that . Absolutely. Many people use their phone number as passwords and all you have to do is get somebodys phone number, and now you have your password to email, bank, various other web sites. Why are we seeing so much of it now . Its a trend. Its a dangerous trend, youre right, and its profitable. Selling these user names, passwords, bank account details, its profitable for these criminals. And so we seem to hear about this more and more and more, so what is it that the hackers are ahead of the security or how is this happening . Its not even that. Theres a lot of consumers out there that are not Security Experts and they may, like i said, we use passwords, they may not turn on two factor authentication. Two factor authentication, you require two assets to log in,ed first is the password, the second is the phone, a text message or a security question that youve probably answered when you have logged into certain web sites. Drop box sports this. People have it turned off. Oh, okay. So turning on two factor authentication, many banks have this in place. So is it safe to say that we are the weak links in this security . Absolutely. Its a two sided relationship. On our part, we should be choosing complex passwords, not reusing them web site to web site. Maybe even using different e mail addresses. On the other hand, the service should enable two factor authentication by default, and obviously have security in place so passwords arent breach. One of the tips we have is avoid bad web sites, what does that mean. Easier said than done. Dont be searching on web sites that are ominous, to say the least. Use trusted web sites, look for web of trust, for example, has a list of good web web sites. One of the tips as well, would be to, if you get one of these in your email, what should you do . Because they look official. Dont open it. If you get an email with an interesting attachment or interesting subject, just throw it away. You can always go to the person that sent it to you or call them on the phone, did you send me this email. Same with facebook, you know, you see a bunch of texts from your friends that say click on this link, ive got pictures for you. Of course youre going to fall for that. Its simple to call and say did you send me that. If he could, if we could go back to the top couple tips, we want to talk about those a little more if we could get back to that. There we go. So number one, dont wait until youre a victim. They prey on the apathetic, right, so go today online and change your passwords immediately. Well wait right here. Exactly. So thats number one. Thats the first line of defense is just changing your passwords. Use a password management facility. Antivirus alone cant handle it all. Layer your security. Use a password manager, antivirus by antimalware. Theres several layers of security that you can employ to protect yourself from this. And these are all available online. Thats right. And then number three is what you have mentioned time and time again, use the Strong Passwords and dont reuse them. Biggest weaknesses. Absolutely.
