It would have allowed bart employees to get up to six weeks of paid family medical leave, the bart board did not ratify that contract and thus the two sides went back to the negotiating table to resolve this, that is not in, more leave and how employees can use time off including sick leave and those and it expands bereavement leave policy to low paid time off for the grandchild or stepparent of a child or spouse or domestic partner and they will see employee break rooms at three stations, something unions have called for. In a statement the bart general manager said after eight months of uncertainty for our riders this deal will garn see that every ounce of the agencys focus will be directed to providing Great Service to the bay area during the peak holiday period and beyond. The president also said in a statement it is a fair resolution that would close months of drawn out contract talks and in the interest of the riding public and the uncertainty caused by the boards removal of a section from our final complete contract. Now the unions credit and Mediation Service for helping get this deal done however it is not yet official. The bart board of directors will need to ratify this contract before this becomes official. It would then have to go to the unions and their membership for rate fix as well so there are still several steps here before this tentative deal becomes a final deal but marty it is certainly a good sign that a tentative deal is now in place yet another sigh of relief, mike for bart riders, i wanted to ask you if you know when the next meeting will be held when they will vote up or down on this contract. Bart board meetings are generally held on thursday, they could hold a special meeting, but the general manager said in a statement or bart issued in a statement they would get this done as soon as possible so we will see if that happens this coming week. She went to the hospital for routine tonsil removal surgery before she suffered severe complications and being declared brain dead. Her family has been fighting for the right to keep her on life support. The hospital says the five doctors have confirmed she is brain dead and therefore not alive but the familys lawyer says she is still responsive. This child is warm. She is soft to the touch.
