You got people already getting their seats, getting ready for the parade to start. It begins. At 1 oclock. So theyre still doing some set up getting ready. Lets go and take a look at some video here. Now, organizers tell me this parade takes about a year to get everything together and get everything ready for this parade. Theyre going to have a marching bands in here. Lots of floats. Lots of people walking in the parade. Lots of veterans in the parade going to pour says, and im told there may also be a flyover, although i have not confirmed that yet. Well just have to wait and see what happens now, the theme of this years parade is korean war veterans. You are not forgotten. I talked to one of the organizers of the parade earlier says, you know, this parade really honors all veterans, but they wanted to focus on that particular conflict and really show those people that theyre honored as well. So this year we are in the korean war veterans. Its often called the forgotten war, which is unfortunate many of these soldiers came home to little or no recognition. And this is our opportunity to award them for everything theyve done. All right. Set up a table here filled with items from kurt veterans who live at the facility. There were uniform swords hats, medals of achievement and photos of the veterans. So kate showcasing their service 135 veterans live at the facility. Theyve served in war such as world war. 2, the korean and vietnam war and some of them shared some. Advice the best about their time in the service. It very hard for me to get used to. Should we pay with 48 fellows . I just think that it allowed me be proud of the country when it was all done. And the older i get the more proud am i was in lots of places. A 42 days on troop ships who one of the least favorable parts of my service. And 44 days in japan on the way over in the way back, that was the best part of the a few veteran shared some of their memorabilia that thep carry along with them. There was Walter Morgan who recently found letters that he used to send to his parents dating back to the 1950s while he was serving. And phil wire has this picture. The commemoration in brentwood and antioch parade underway right now started at 10, 30 this morning. San joses parade started just a few minutes ago and the petaluma parade is set up and ready to go. As we heard from charles and later on today, the beacon at mount diablo summit will be lit to honor veterans as well. Vice president Kamala Harris laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington National cemetery in virginia. She was joined by first lady doctor joe biden and her husband. The second gentleman, doug emhoff. President biden is attending the Climate Conference in egypt. And this is the changing of the guard ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington National cemetery from october to march, the ceremony happens every hour on the hour. This is the 100 and first year that arlington is commemorated Fallen Soldiers whose names have been lost in time. All clear on i680, after big rig overturned near pleasant and it started around 5 oclock this morning just south of bernal avenue. Investigators said the big rig driver fell asleep at the wheel, bounced off the Center Median and then landed. Theyre on side here. They are trying flip it back up. At one point, the cab was hanging over the median and urprisingly, no one was hurt in this crash, but it did make the commute there along 6. 80, really tough for people who are trying to get to the south bay. But again, all the lanes are now clear and open, ready to go. Check out, though. This damage said to an Apartment Building in San Francisco after car crashed right into and police say this happened after 2 cars crash yesterday afternoon on san bruno avenue and visitation valley. One of the cars ended up going into the building, hitting a gas and a water line because a lot of other structural damage. 3 people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries and 14 people were displaced because of this crash. Their red cross is helping and police are investigating. Now to the north bay where Police Arrested a 36 yearold man following a standoff in a parking lot in petaluma. The incident happened at the plaza south shopping center. Police say the daniel our chased a woman who had a restraining order against him. They say that she ran into a store to call police and as she was calling, police say that the suspect took the phone and then assaulted her and nearby officer reportedly saw our run out of the store and get into his car and then another officer rounded surrounded the car. They say that were our seemed like he was about to surrender. But when he hopped back into his car and tried to leave, they were able to stop and arrest him. Hes now been booked into the Sonoma County jail. Unless youre are in the inner east bay and then were maybe up a degree or 2. But weve been saying pretty chilly, no doubt about it. These are some of the lows that we had today. You can see just 30 degrees in nevada. 33 in santa rosa about 36 in livermore, concord, napa, both at 37 degrees in san jose about 39. Right now were sitting mostly in the 50s as we take a look around the bay. You can see in San Francisco at 56 degrees, maybe up to 60 already in pittsburgh. But thats one of the exceptions to the rule. Its pretty much a 50s kind of day so far live look outside shows you that we do have those blue skies as we look at the golden gate, by the way, much better commute this morning. The votes are still being counted in san jose. But the difference between the 2 candidates for mayor remains pretty much the same. Matt mahan is still in the lead with just about 52 of the vote. Cindy chavez about 48 as of now 5,000 votes or separating the 2 candidates, the race to be oaklands next. Mayor continues as well. According to the latest numbers, City Council Member loren taylor maintains his lead over fellow City Council Member shane town by about 3,000 votes. We do have an update on the Alameda County district attorneys race. Terry wiley continues to lead the race with about 52 of the vote. And so far, pamela price has about 48 . Of the vote. Our political analyst michael yaki says a large number of mailin ballots is likely whats causing the delay of the results. I think the sheer number now, if they were probably just dropped off on tuesday, its probably whats causing that delay and why its going to take some time to make sure you verify the signatures. Most county should release the next batch of votes by at least next tuesday. But the deadline for the Election Results to be certified is one month after election day. And controlled the u. S. Congress still hanging in the balance. Right now. Were going to take a look at some of the numbers for whats happening in those key races as well in the senate. Republicans now have 49 seats, democrats. 48 a runoff next month in georgia will determine the winner there. The votes are still being counted in nevada and arizona in the silver state. The race, though, has tightened republican adam laxalt still leads democrat incumbent Catherine Cortez masto by about 9,000 votes with 90 of the votes. Already been counted in arizona. The democratic incumbent mark kelly still leads republican Blake Masters just about 80 of the votes have been counted. There. And in the house, republicans have won 211 seats so far they need 9 more seats to reach the 2018 total and clinch the majority. Democrats have won 193 seats and there are still 31 races undecided. Still very cold air mass in place is going to be reinforced somewhat by this little front. Thats the one thats going bring the snow showers and also just a few sprinkles possible to the bay. And that will come in late friday night and then a little bit saturday afternoon. Thats why have that slight chance on saturday. But i dont think a lot of us will see that. And frankly, sunday is sunny and really nice. So that will be a better day of the 2. But i think as long as your daytime plans on saturday will be all right, too. And so now it is actually up into the carolinas, bringing rain and wind that way. And it still is packing a bit of a punch. As you can see, 30 mile per hour winds still sustained and its moving about 23 miles per hour. Certainly picked up steam, but it should start to dissipate. Now as we get into the next 12 to 24 hours, bringing it back to the bay. Weve got a lovely day on tap. Weve got a few clouds out there. No doubt about it. Thanks so go now to the north bay where Fairfield Police have released videos from june when officers shot and injured patrick hall who they say fired multiple shots at officers during a chase that ended in vallejo. So heres that dash camera video from a patrol car during the chase. It shows a bullet hitting the windshield. Police say the bullet hit the drivers seat headrest and then narrowly missed the officer who was driving the car. Police used spike strips to stop halls vehicle and thats where body camera video captured hall pointing his gun at officers and they say he then fired police fired back. They were able to arrest hall after he fell to the ground and hall was taken to the hospital to be treated. The owner of a restaurant in San Franciscos Pacific Heights neighborhood is hoping that police can help find the a couple of burglars who broke into his business earlier this month. Its john, lets the owner of nash says the damage and the stolen items cost thousands of dollars to replace of the things the burglars targeted were handheld terminals and more than a dozen expensive bottles of liquor.
