And why a simulator is now a focal point in the investigation into the missing plane. So, is it uncommon for Airline Pilots to use or possess a Flight Simulator . Chief pilot of Pacific States aviation in concord, rashid yahya says revelations that Malaysia Airline flight 370 captain zaharie abdul sha built one in his home, doesnt automatically make him suspicious. Yahya says it could have been used soley for leisure and training. Still, shah and his copilot are under investigation. We join yahya on his simulator at Buchanan Field Airport. Where he simulates a take off. And, during the flight, yahya explains how its possible one can learn how to disable a transponder which sends signals to a radar pinpointing your location. Yahya says turning off a transponder is as simply as hitting a switch. Malaysia Airlines Says flight 370 may have flown for more than seven hours after its transponder stopped sending signals. Knowing where to fly in order to avoid radar detection is also something yahya says can be rehersed on a simulator as well. But once flight 370 dissappeared, it dissappeared. Pakistan and india are among the countries saying the plane never showed up on their radars. And, now the men in the cockpit are under an international microscope. At Buchanan Field Airport in concord, Philippe Djegal, kron four news. San Francisco Police are investigating an accident that left an elderly man in the hospital. Witnesses say the victim was crossing at the mission 7th street intersection, when the driver of the grayline sightseeing bus tried beating a red light. The bus hit the pedestrian while making a left onto 7th street. People at the scene say at one point the left wheel of the bus was on top of the man. The victim was rushed to sf General Hospital with injuries that are potentially life threatening. In a statement, grayline of San Francisco tells kron 4 we are fully cooperating with the local agencies while they conduct their investigation and it will take several days for the authorities to review the information. In san bruno, firefighters and alert neighbors. Prevented this fire from destroying any homes. Neighbors called 911 around 1230 this afternoon from the corner of heather and eucalyptus. They found a shed engulfed in flames. Neighbors helped with the firefighting effort. They used their garden hoses to keep the fire down before crews arrived. No one was hurt, and no homes were damaged by the fire. Another fire. This time in mountain view. Investigators there are still trying to find out what caused the blaze to start at an unoccupied home. It happened around 2 am at a one story house on fordham way and sladky avenue. Firefighters controlled the flames in about an hour. And no one was injured. But because no one was home at the time. Officials are looking into the possibility of foul play.
