Officers exchanged fire with them and the situation ended on shot will between 17th and 18th streets. One Restaurant Owner telling us that the burglaries that happened so often over the last year that shes thinking about closing up burglars targeted dim sum corner for the 3rd time this year. The owner telling us that restaurants have struggled to stay open after the covid19 pandemic and these crimes are making things even more difficult. Shes hoping to raise awareness of these issues and hoping to encourage others to speak up. So far, no word tonight on any suspects. A South San FranciscoPolice Officer recovering after being dragged by a car during a traffic stop. This happened on the 1000 block of san mateo avenue near sfo. Police say while they were talking to the driver, he then took off. He hit. One of the officers then began dragging that officer. Police were then led on a chase to san bruno where that car eventually crashed. Officers arrested the driver and they say that they found burglary tools in his car. Crews are reporting progress in establishing control lines along the eastern portion of that fire. 4 people have died which began on july. The 29th. Authorities say they are continuing to evaluate the damage and so far nearly 90 homes have been destroyed. And tonight its at just 40 containment. New at 10 oclock. Another reported armed watch robbery happening in the east bay today. This happening around 3 oclock this afternoon in the parking lot of the Livery Shopping Center in danville. Police say 3 armed people Work Together to take a watch from a man who had just walked out of a shop. We have new video tonight from the Oakland Fire Department showing crews battling a blaze that happened yesterday. This was at a building on 8400 block of edgewater drive. This is near the Oakland International airport. Nearly 3 dozen crews had to rush to the scene of this 2 alarm blaze. You can see there the flames that are shooting up in the top of the building. Firefighters telling us that its not the first time that this place is caught on fire and they learned that the building, rather, weve learned that the building has been demolished. Firefighters say that with the building gun, it no longer is posing any sort of safety hazard to the public bay area. Activists gathering in richmond today to mark the 10 years to the day since the explosion at the chevron, richmond refinery. Investigators with the u. S. Chemical safety board reporting that chevron ignored warnings about corrosion in a pipe that caused the explosion and the fire smoke sent thousands of that are living nearby to the hospital.
