Where there were two officer involved shootings that happened just four hours apart. Heres new video of the scene of the first incident. Around one am, Police Spotted a car suspected of being involved in an Armed Robbery in the area of king road and alum rock avenue. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle. But the driver fled, eventually crashing less than a half mile away. One of the suspects got out of the car and ran. Police describe what happened next. The officers attempted to make contact with the driver of this vehicle. Off the driver proceeded to attempt to run over the officer. He feared for his safety and discharged his firearm. The driver was taken to the hospital with at least one gunshot wound. The extent of his injuries are not known at this time. Police are working to get suspect descriptions. Then. Just before 5 this morning, San Jose Police responded to a report of an Armed Robbery at a safeway store. It happened nearsan carlos road when officers arrived, the suspect had already fled. The airport workers are joining a growing movement of food and retail workers fighting for better pay and benefits. Fast food workers across the country have organized actions calling for higher minimum wages including an eastbaywide fast food strike on august 29th. And walmart workers launched a National Strike last may, and are building for an action in San Francisco on september 5th. They wanted take a lot of great things away. We do not have enough to meet our basic needs. Theyre trying to take away our health care and pension plans. They do not want to give us a raise in the next five years. They want to take away our overtime pay.
