The building was fully engulfed in flames. There was a lot of heavy smoke when firefighters arrived. It took them almost an hour to put this out. It was not clear what caused the fire but neighbor say was a haven for the homeless. People going there that are homeless. They dont have any other place to stay so they look for summer comfortable. I would too if i was in the same situation. Police were on the scene well into the morning trying to keep that area secure. A man shot and killed by police on Christmas Day in palo alto. He has been identified at as a 31yearold. He had been wielding a knife and he had called 911 friday night. Police say he apparently was waiting for them and charged at officers with a knife outside the home. To officers fired. The suspect later died at the hospital. The officers were not injured and have been put on administrative leave. A 34yearold has been arrested accused of stealing a police car and another vehicle last week. The suspect was arrested thursday on suspicion of carjacking and auto theft. He has been booked into the jail in mount peters and is being held on 350,000 bail. The most recent ones on sunday morning destroyed a two bedroom home. The Health Center caught fire and on december 20th a former motel which is currently under renovation caught fire. Authorities say all three of these are suspicious. Right now there is no link between the three other than the fact that each of them started between 2 00 and 6 00 in the morning. If you want to take a dip in lake tahoe these days you have to walk aways because the water is angle deep for hundreds of yards out. There only a couple of boat ramps that still remain open.
