the house. and fired into the open garage. pittsburgh police say two teenaged boys were shot. one of them was transported to a hospital by helicopter. both of them are in critical condition. the 9-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder. all four victims are expected to survive, police say they haven't had any problems at this house before, and even neighbors say they were shocked to hear about the news. >> there was a party going. you got kids. and then we heard firecrackers and i come out and check and i heard all of the screaming. and at first, the kids were crying and all that stuff. i said it has to be firecrackers because the kids were crying. but then the guy comes out saying somebody got shot. >> reporter: pittsburg police have been patrolling the area. they don't have very much to work off of this morning except that the two adult shooters are adult males and looking for a dark-colored sedan that may have been used as a get-away car. back to you. >> all right, thank you very much. san jose police are expected to release more details today about an officer-involved shooting that left a suspect dead. it happened just before noon yesterday on worcester avenue, just northeast of downtown. police say a caller reported a suspicious-acting man with a weapon at the parkside terrace apartments. and four officers arrived and found the man in a parking lot. >> something transpired where one, at least one officer was forced, or felt a necessity to discharge his firearm at the individual. and usually we do that for our protection. or to protect our fellow officers or somebody in the public. a civilian. >> the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. police are not yet releasing further details. but witnesses say the suspect was in a car when he was shot. one woman says he rammed several cars while trying to get away. it is the city's sixth officer-involved shooting in 2011. compared with four last year. 5:02 now. a handful of people are under arrest this morning, as occupy protesters take to the streets around justin herman plaza. stephanie chuang is in san francisco to explain what they were arrested for. she joins us with more. stephanie, good morning. >> good morning, frank. and all five arrests made here, there was a bit of a clash between police, and occupy sf protesters who set up a base camp here, and dozens are still out and about here, and we're joined first by cody one of the five arrested by police last night and can you tell me what led up to this. >> yes, we were protesting in front of the federal reserve. we kept expanding and getting more and more people. so we moved here saturday. we slept here saturday. with no problem. and then we put up tarps because we thought it was going to rain today. and the police told us we couldn't have those. and then -- >> at 10:00, they came, right? >> at 10:00 they came, and that was after they gave us a warning that they were going to enforce the curfew that the park closes at 10:00. >> what led up to the clash? i mean it got violent? >> no, it did not get violent. we were completely nonviolent. what happened was the police came, they ripped down all of our stuff, and took it, threw it in a truck and we went to the street to stop the truck from moving peacefully. i noticed that they were pushing females so i got in front of the females and then the police orders to move back and the crowd wouldn't move back and the next thing i knew, the police said get him and i was detained. >> so you guys are going to be here, this is your new base camp, right. >> yes, we plan to be here indefinitely or until we grow so large la that we have to find another spot. >> that was from cody, one of the five who was arrested last night. and police say four were arrested for reisting arrest. and blocking the roadway. and one for battery on a police officer. and again, that police are saying that they warned the occupy sf protesters that they would be coming in to take down these belongings, these tents because they were in violation of the park code. and that's the very latest from here. back to you. >> stephanie, thank you. we know they're camped out there. are they going to protest and march through the city again today or this week? >> you know what? they are always planning more activities. that is a definite possibility. the last one they had was just saturday. and in fact, they are getting a lot of support from local lawmakers like senator leeland. he took part in that march, too. and i know that some of these occupy sf protesters to dozens of cities across the university and including oakland and walnut creek participating and protests of corporate greed spread to europe over the weekend and arrests in a number of cities and in chicago, about 175 protesters were taken in for refusing to take down their test tents and leave a city park, much like here in san francisco. oakland police are investigating three weekend murders. two men were shot to death, just before midnight, friday. at an apartment in the 1300 block of macarthur boulevard. another man was shot during a carjacking. that happened on olive street. he died early saturday at the hospital. and this brings the total number of murders in oakland this year to 94. and there were 95 for all of last year. the two suspects in the murder of an east bay oakland boy, of an east oakland boy, expected to have a pretrial hearing today. and 3-year-old carlos nava was killed in august. 26-year-old lawrence denard and 22-year-old willie torrence pleaded not guilty last month. police think the drive-by shooting was gang-related. they think the shots that killed nava were meant for two men who were wounded. it was 22 years ago today that the lomaprie. ta earthquake struck the area. and it devastated areas from oakland and san francisco to sant kruz. and the quake is blamed for 67 death. an open house and remembrance are planned this afternoon for the san francisco fire department museum with a moment of silence at 5:04 the minute the quake hit. pg&e is warning people on sand hill road, that's in menlo park, that they might smell some natural gas this morning. the utility will be running those pressure tests on their pipelines there. and the offices of emergency services says the smell should go away quickly and that services will not be afternoon. at least in the inland spots. and at the bay. lots of sunshine in both locations. we will get some sun breaks at the coast as well although we will probably see some clouds lingering into the afternoon hours. and this high pressure holding temporarily. that's going to mean the warmer conditions today. and then changes in store for tuesday and wednesday. and as we see this low make its way into the bay area. and dropping temperatures down significantly. and so really bumping then up today and back down on the rollercoaster for tomorrow. and so highs around the bay area today, look like this. 82 for palo alto. and santa clara and topping out at 84. and los gatos hit 87. and 70 at pacifica. so a nice beach day there and in the inland spots getting close to the 90s in the far inland locations and seeing a few 89-degree readings dublin and san ramon and 87 as a high in fairfield. and north bay, a mix of 70s and 80s here today, as well. and 86 for petaluma. and daly city at 71. and richmond at 77. and breaking that 80-degree mark in oakland today. and so monday, today, we will be likely the warmest day of the workweek and then you notice the cooling trend and make your way into tuesday and wednesday, and more fall-like weather and then a slight warmup as we make our way into the weekend, so i know it is a ways out but already looking at the is sunny skies in store still patrolling the area after last night's shooting. it happened at this corner house on ravine drive in pittsburg. 30 people came out to celebrate a birthday when unknown gunmen began shooting. hitting two teenaged boys and a 9-year-old girl. around 8:00 p.m. sunday night two hooded gunmen walked up to the house and fired shots into the garage. pittsburg police say four people were hit. including a 9-year-old girl. the two teenaged boys are in critical condition. one was taken to the hospital. by helicopter. all four victims are expected to survive. the neighbors say there have been no problems at this house before. and that this is relatively a quiet neighborhood so they were shocked to hear about the shooting. >> there was a party going. you got kids. and then i heard like firecrackers and so i came out and check and i heard all of the screaming and at first when the kids were crying and all that stuff, i said it had to be firecrackers because the kids were crying but then the guy comes out and says somebody got shot. >> reporter: now, right now, pittsburg police say they have very little to work with. there is no suspect description other than they're looking for the shooters possibly knew the victims? >> there's no information on that yet. they don't know if the gunman knew anybody at the party. or the people who were celebrating the birthday party. so that expanded their territory. this is their new base camp. as you mentioned, arrests were made in a pretty violent clash with police at around 10:30 last night. much calmer now for us with people sleeping and some still chatting about what happened and sfpd says it told protesters early in the day yesterday that they were not allowed to camp at the plaza in violation of the park code and warned them throughout the day to leave but protesters tell us they only heard that around 9:00 last night and it they refused to take down the tents and customers came in riot gear and moved the tents and other belongings into public works trucks and protesters tried to block the truck before the members slashed a tire and in all, police arrested five people, and we spoke with one of them about what happened. >> they came out, and just kind of walked in, through our line, and towards our communications and our kitchen. and then just started ripping down our canvasses, ripping them, throwing all of our stuff in piles and we kept that line and then we started around the dpw area so they couldn't leave with our gear, with our stuff. >> and sfpd arrested one person for a battery on a police officer. the other four for being in the roadway and resisting officer. occupy sf says it has no plans to leave the plaza and has a letter of support from the mayor ed lee. and again, not moving. in killed and police telling the san jose mercury news that the scene was tampered with but not saying what was missing. apple plans a celebration of steve jobs' life on wednesday at the company headquarters in cupertino. the celebration will be for apple employees. the company says no public services are planned for the co-founder. job jobs died october 5 and buried during a private service
