As weve got numbers this morning, theyre on the chill side, winds out of the south in parts of the bay area to as much as 10 miles an hour, but thats about it. Concord 50 degrees, oakland has 51 right now, livermore at 49 degrees, San Francisco at 50 and in santa rosa this morning it is 45 degrees. Pretty nice start to saturday and a pretty good finish too. We got a good day on tap. Partly cloudy skies and some patchy fog out by the shoreline, but for just about everybody weve got afternoon sunshine. And after easter it looks like well get a slight chance for showers in the bay area, especially in the north bay. Thats late monday and early tuesday. Easter looks good, though, temperatures are warming up and well have temperatures nudging 80 degrees in some of the warmest spots tomorrow. For now weve got a weak low thats coming through and thats serving to enhance the marine layer along the shoreline, keep things on the mild side today. Tomorrow we get a bit of a bump in temperatures and then late monday, early tuesday thats when we get a chance of a shower or two. But in the meantime stay dry, itll be a nice, mild afternoon, just beautiful weather. Tomorrow if your plans take you to the beach, theres a High Surf Advisory already posted. This is for tomorrow when swells will build out of the northwest from 12 to 13 feet. With that sneaker waves are always a possibility so be careful if youre heading to the beach, especially tomorrow. Its really for all of the bay area beaches, all way down through monterey bay. Out in the east bay well be looking for 74 degrees at pittsburg, 75 for antioch and 75 degrees at brentwood. Up in the north bay, nice, temperatures mostly in the low 70s today except if you head over toward highway 1 and stinson beach. There the numbers at the coach will be cool, 62 degrees for stinson and 62 at bodega bay, 74 in santa rosa. Looking ahead weve got nothing but sun today and tomorrow with the patchy low clouds along the shoreline. Late monday is when we expect a chance of showers in the bay area and definitely cooler weather coming in on tuesday around the bay. Look at the numbers on tuesday, only the low 60s, and wednesday the mid60s. For thursday and friday weve got temperatures recovering a bit as we dry it out. Numbers recover back into the mid70s inland. If youre going to catch the oakland as who are taking on the Houston Astros, itll be a sunny and mild day this afternoon, game time 1 05 and a temperature of 65 degrees. Looking good this weekend. And liftoff of the falcon 9 rocket. The unmanned dragon spacecraft successfully launched from Cape Canaveral yesterday after a month of delays. Its expected to deliver 5,000 pounds of food, supplies and experiments to the space station when it arrives tomorrow. One of spacexs founders is, of course, elon musk who also runs tesla. A fivepound bear cub the size of a house cat is far away from home. Wildlife rescuers are trying to figure out where she came from in the hopes of reuniting her with her mom. They fear the 10weekold bear may be orphaned. This little cub nicknamed tahoe showed up at the bear league, thats an animal Advocacy Group in Eldorado County on thursday. Shes now rehabbing at a center in South Lake Tahoe since shes too young to survive on her own in the wild. But tahoe appears to be pretty happy. You can hear her making sounds as she nuzzles her blanket. Good friday got better for dozens of drivers in illinois. They were all rewarded with free gas. Why doesnt that happen out here . Long lines snaked toward the gas station in university park, illinois yesterday. The first 200 cars got 25 worth of gas. Money to pay for the good deed came from a local congregation. Its pastor said he wanted to give back to the community before the easter holiday. That sounds like a great gift to me. Ill take it. I need to belong to that parish. Thats the truth.
