Fda recalling products with cumin after trace amounts of peanuts were found in the spice. Peanuts are one of a handful of foods that account for 90 of food allergies. Nearly 200 people at Ucla Medical Center have been exposed to a drugresistant bacteria known as cre. Two of them have died. Ucla says it appears contaminated medical instruments were used on the patients during endoscopic procedures between october and january. We got the all clear in this accident in benicia. Eastbound 780 at southampton an overturn. They got the vehicle uprighted and it was on the right shoulder so we never saw a huge delay but now chp and tow crews have left the scene so you dont have to worry about possible slowdowns in the area. Highway 4 continues to get worse instead of better. No accidents, not like yesterday. I know it kind of got a rough start to the morning commute yesterday. This is just the usual commuter traffic heading off the antioch bridge and past hillcrest really between hillcrest and a street is the worst of it. Westbound 580 the commute has begun here as well out of tracy but we havent seen any accidents and no major hot spots so the drive time is still in the green as you can see there, 17 minutes. The bulk of traffic is actually still on 205 out of tracy and now its sluggish all the way to about vasco before it finally loosens up. Heres a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. We have a combination of a marine layer thats causing some foggy conditions at sfo at this hour and then we have the tule fog that is lowering visibility inland. This is a live weather camera looking towards ocean beach. And its not socked in with the fog. It is overcast. But visibility not an issue there. We will see sunshine today with temperatures slightly above average very deep extensive marine layer. Hanging tight to the coast, and penetrating some of the inland areas, as well. Then we have the tule fog thats creeping in throughout the back door of the central valley. Its going to take a while to see some burnoff today but well have some sunshine. Heres your futurecast. Reporter good morning. You know, the economy has really changed over the last 25 years. Its now clear that College Graduates earn a lot more over the course of their careers than those who dont have college educations. So a lot of americans said i got to get that degree. To do so, many had to borrow. Today about 7 in 10 graduating seniors come out of college with nearly 30,000 in debt. Of course, the amount of student debt and the likelihood of graduating with debt varies greatly between states and colleges. A lot of borrowers are having a hard time repaying. What should they do, jill . Reporter a lot is underplaying it. 20 of student borrowers are in default right now. Over 11 are delinquent. That means they are more than 90 days late with their payment. I think a lot of these borrowers should consider whether consolidation could make sense for them. Consolidation streamlines repayment and can often reduce your monthly cost by a lot. Of course, you have to understand the type of loan that you have, private loans cannot be consolidated under the federal loan plan. But what if consolidation isnt enough . Reporter you know, there are some really interesting programs that the government offers that are really tied to repayments that are tied to your income. They are meant to reduce your monthly nut and if you are a teacher or you work in government or at a nonprofit, you might qualify for something called Public Service loan forgiveness. You got to work for 10 years and make 10 years of payments but after that time, again, for some of these people, they might wipe the rest of their loan balance to zero. Scientists think they know whats causing hundreds of sea lions to wash up sick on the california coast. They believe unusually warm water is to blame. The sea lions food supply has migrated north because of the warmup. Scientists say temperatures in the Pacific Ocean are two to five degrees above average for this time of the year. A couple degrees can change the whole ecosystem out there. No kidding. Traffic . We have metering lights over at the bay bridge. They were turned on early once again. So yeah, kind of a bummer if you are trying to get into San Francisco. We are already seeing these backups trying to get on to the bridge itself. They were switched on at 5 38. So definitely earlier and you can see its already backed up to the 880 overcrossing. It took seconds for that to happen. Heres a live look at the Richmond San Rafael bridge approach. This is actually much better than yesterday. Its not too bad. Just a couple of delays in the far right lanes but overall it looks good between the east bay and San Francisco. We have an update now on these bart delays. Now they are saying 10 to 15 minute delays kind of in all directions out of daly city so this is the latest bart alert they sent out on twitter.
