The company that runs the heating loop for the 170 buildings nrg is looking to start using some nonDrinking Water. This station has had a problem with water intrusion since it opened in the mid 1970s. So we have been pumping it out and trying to get rid of it since then. Reporter now 65 million gallons of ground water under bart goes into the sewer every year. The idea is to get that water not good for drinking into the heating system to replace the good drinking stuff. Theres no infrastructure right now to move the water from the pumping stations or the sewer system essentially now. Reporter the company says there are no firm plans and it will be expensive. Hey, time to talk about some weather. Were over here in the Weather Center talking about the kpix 5 weather watchers. And we have a number of folks who every day send in their Weather Information from their backyard and we use it right here on television. Lets take a look at some of the data thats coming in over the past hour. We have 69 degrees so says kathy in sebastopol. Sunshine not terribly warm today because the onshore flow is still there to the tune of 57 degree in San Francisco. George hughes reporting in. Final stop at the coastline. Also 57 degrees Edward Williams just a few minutes ago reporting in the clouds rolling back in, in half moon bay. Edward says highs today only in the upper 50s. Lets take outside and show you whats going on. Temperatures now generally in the 60s. 60 in oakland. Livermore 65. But closer to the water like you just saw we are in the 50s. San bruno 57. And San Francisco officially downtown 55 degrees. Santa rosa the warm spot at 66. Plenty of activity for a fifth consecutive day not only in the sierra but far Northern California. That is the leading edge of the weathermaker that will give us rainfall here in the bay area tomorrow night, state morning. Lows tonight with another mostly cloudy night. Oakland 52. Mountain view 51. San jose 50. And fairfield 50 degrees tonight. So using a baseball analogy sports is coming up next, by the way, low pressure is going to slide into the pacific northwest. Its acting like a pitching machine because wrapping around that clockwise flow is some energy in the atmosphere. All of that energy has stayed way until tomorrow night when some of that energy will race right into and through the bay area. Three or four hours of some light to moderate rainfall. Wonderful news that its going to rain. And wonderful news about the timing. I know a lot of us have Outdoor Activities over the weekend. You might not want a rainout. Rains going to be gone before sunrise saturday. Its going to rain while youre sleeping. High pressure builds in behind. That sunshine by saturday afternoon then beginning sunday less fog in the morning, less of that breeze throughout the day. And were going to see a lot of sunshine even at the coast with highs pushing 80 to 85 degrees inland. Lets talk about the timing on futurecast. We roll through tomorrow. Clouds increase by 6 00. By 10 or 11 the rain arrives in the north bay. Everybody with some showers overnight. But look at this. Not only are the raindrops gone, but the clouds will be gone by saturday afternoon. So what to expect. We have a partly to mostly cloudy night tonight. Pretty chilly tomorrow as. Winds turn south ahead of that front. And the front will give us some rainfall very early on saturday. San jose tomorrow cooler. 66 for you. Los altos 65. Union city 64. Antioch one of the few spots hitting 70. San ramon only 66. 60 in sausalito. Petaluma 66. And windsor tomorrow 69 degrees.
