One drafted by the police department, the other with input from the department of justice and community members. Both put emphasis on officers deescalating situations. Were very excited because we plan to open the ride path at the end of the summer. Reporter when finally finished it will be more than 2 miles long. And there are two small unfinished sections remaining. This 70foot gap in the middle of the span is a last over water piece to be built. And this is where the bike path lands on Yerba Buena Island already connected to the island. But theres still work to do. In addition to the last 100 feet of roadbed, there are restrooms and a viewing area still to be completed. Caltrans is anticipating quite a crowd. People come from all over the world to experience the San Franciscooakland bay bridge and being able to come on to the bike path.
