Now, the freshmen were supposed to move into a new building called the Capital Village 2. It has its own laundry facility and rec room complete with air hockey and ping pong tables. But there were some construction delays despite crews working double shifts 7 days a week. So the freshmen cannot move in for another four weeks, another month. So what is the University Going to do to compensate these students . They say they are going to charge them less for moving into these buildings. That number unknown. They have been able to lift evacuation orders even as the flame keeps spreading. The fire is 22 contained. It burn thousands of acres north of san bernardino. Firefighters have had trouble convincing people that its time to leave their homes to stay safe. Every time it would go under, i knew it was about to attack and it was so terrible. It was just scariest thing in my life i have ever been through. Reporter his father is in disbelief. I thought they were scared of the otters being next to em. I didnt know they were being bitten at the time. Reporter when the boys got out of the water, ryan could see the bite wounds. What the heck is going on . I have never heard of that happening before. Reporter they went to the hospital to get rabies shots. But thats not all they got. They gave us otter pops. They printed out these pictures of just otters and stuff and theyre like which one was it . It was funny. Yeah. They say attacks are rare but they do happen. Police in walnut creek looking for a pair of pickpockets. They are targeting women with purses. Police released some Surveillance Video of the suspects. Or keep a hand or eye on your purse to prevent becoming a victim. Investigators are looking into the death of a man shot by the North Carolina Highway Patrol after pursuit in charlotte. The Highway Patrol says that troopers tried to stop a volvo passenger vehicle yesterday evening for speeding. A short chase led to a confrontation. Thats when the shot was fired. The trooper who fired the shot is now on administrative leave. One week after a heavy tree branch dropped on a San Francisco mother, her husband has learned she is never going to walk again. 36yearold [indiscernible name] liked to take her young daughters to Washington Square park. She was there last friday watching the girls play when a tree branch snapped and landed on her head. That tree limb weighs 100 pounds and it dropped from a pine tree. Her husband says the impact broke his wifes lower spine and also fractured her skull. Doctors told him she will never walk again. I asked the doctors whether she could walk again. [ through translator ] they said no because her lower spine was totally separated. The chance of her walking again is zero. Her husband says their daughters who are 5 and 9 years old are too traumatized to go to school. More implosions are on the way to the San Francisco bay. Caltrans now has approval to demolish two more support piers from the old eastern span of the bay bridge. Crews will use the same technique they used last fall here when they imploded the largest pier. The technique aims to reduce impact on fish and the bays ecosystem. It survived an 80mile ride under the hood of a car. The family was driving from missouri to their home in kansas when they heard meowing under the hood of the car and found this little kitten. He scurried away. Some 80 miles later the family stopped to get something to et oo and they realized the kitten was back thats when they decided they had to keep it.
