When it developed this morning, it made weird noises. The Public UtilitiesCommission Says rain runoff flooded the sewer pipes. The water pipe and roadway collapsed around it. I can see the road sinking into it getting bigger and now with the rain its going to get worse. Reporter its an old system. This water pipe dates back to 1905. Its over 100 years old. Reporter why dont you fix these things . Were doing our best. We have water main breaks and sewer breaks around the city daily. We have crews dealing with this 24 7. We have aging infrastructure. Reporter theyre still out here working. Theyve got to fix a water main, a sewer line and patch the street back together. Theyre talking about perhaps a week before they finish it. Wow. On friday the storm is farther to the north and not as strong, so a much weak weaker storm on friday. We get rainfall, but not the widespread rainfall.
