Its now under control. The flames werent visible from the street, but a mraum of smoke could be seen rising from the back of at least one home. We spoke to a woman who lived next door to one of those houses. She said she heard something then saw the fire. She told us one man was dragged out of the house by firefighters, possibly on fire. We were our christmas back and we heard some, like, crackling sounds. We didnt dmoe what it was. Next thing you knew, a huge flame burst out of the glass, just the glass shattered and huge flames came shooting out of the back of the house. Still no word on what caused that fire, and its not clear how severe the fire victims injuries are police want to know who stole christmas presents from at least two homes in the neighborhood. The family had been up the night before and then went straight to bed. Kpix 5s Christin Ayers is in new jun ark where she talked with that family tonight. Hi, christin. Yeah, ryan, call it the might nar before christmas. A couple of homes here burglarized overnight. Newark Police Still Investigating who the suspects could be. A front door jimmied, a window pried open on the night before christmas. They just opened the window . Yeah. There were creatures stirring, all right, a band of thieves. They went for the play station, packed up the computer and cleaned out the credit cards, but the grinches didnt stop there. All the gifts were right here, the gifts for the kids. All of them were taken. The kids just nine and ten burst into tears when they discovered the burglary Christmas Morning. She comes in here, and theres no bicycle. Now, Christmas Tree needles are the only things left where their stacks of presents were. Everything else were Christmas Gifts for the kids. Thats whats upsetting. And a break in at the hernandez house wasnt the only one in the neighborhood Christmas Morning. Unbelievably, hernandezs brother, who lives three blocks away, also had his home burglarized this morning. They have no heart. Newark police are investigating whether theyre connected, and the police have not arrested anyone. Hernandez says they still saved christmas. The officers collected 100 for the family to buy new presents, and the police union matched the donation with 100 more. It was very nice. Very nice police department. Now, those two burglaries may not be the only ones. Newark police say recently there was a third burglary that was very similar. They are still investigating whether or not all of these are connected. Live in new jun ark, Christin Ayers, kpix 5. Bad weather is being blamed for ruaning some Christmas Mornings. Nearly 95 Million People will be traveling, many through congested airports. Now, the Airline Industry is thinking about a new Customized Air fare system with some quirk can i considerations. Kpix 5s andria borba on how this would work and why some fliers are skeptical. Hi. Chances are when you get onto a flight, the person sitting right next to you as paid a completely different price for that seat right next to you. Well, if the airline gets its way, its going to change all of the pricing on all of the seats not based on when you buy but perhaps who you are. Taking a flight can already inflict a series of indignities on your wallet. High ticket price, check. Seats for checked bags, check. Paying for inflight food, check. Now, the airlines are working on a new pricing system, something theyre calling resolution 787, customized pricing just for you based on your past flying history and by data mining all kinds of details. They want to know about your marital status. They want to know where you live. Its really its red zoning, too. Fliers at Sfo International Terminal quite used to the nickel and dime routine that is a trip to the airport in 2013 are skeptical to say the least from the price. My hunch is that the favorable price sg going to be the middle seat and the back of the airplane and to get the nice seats in front of the airplane even in coach is going to be a lot more expensive. I dont think marital status has anything to do with pricing. To the perhaps uncomfortable amount of information already floating. Still not comfortable with the amount of information all these corporations are getting from me. The thought that resolution 787 will be good for travelers isnt exactly cleared for takeoff. Now, of course, this is just a proposal at this point. Its an industrywide proposal, but for resolution 787 to get off the ground, it has to be approved by the department of transportation. Reporting live at sfo, andria borba kpix 5. Unless something changes very soon, a shelter for Homeless Youth is in its final days. The closure is a sign of the changing landscape of San Francisco.
