Reporter the 49ers say 70 of those buying tickets are the same folks who buy at candlestick. For those without the big bucks, the 49ers have a plan for them too. They can be financed over the course of ten years. We feel like theres a price point for every fan. Reporter those seat licenses go from 2,000 up to 80,000. Reporter well, the young fellow who wanted to buy that ticket, he couldnt figure out how hes gonna do it, but he said hes got 18 months. He might go in with somebody else. Everyone is working out little deals. Its a lot of money, but these fans are going to do what they have to do to get tickets. Well, the construction milestone on the new eastern span of the bay bridge today. This is the unfinished section of the roadway. Today, dozens of trucks carrying concrete filled in that final section of the bridges new deck. The grand opening of the new bay bridge is less than six months away. Kpix 5s anne makovec tells us about the strategy allowing some of this work to be done ahead of schedule. Reporter its another piece of history as the concrete is poured for the last section of the new bay bridge deck. Youll see a continuous bridge deck after today. You wont see all this rebar. You wouldnt see a gap in the bridge. Reporter 136 concrete trucks went to work this morning, carrying more than 1200 cubic yards of concrete to fill the length of three football fields. Theres still work to do paving and installing joints, but the roadway is almost come complete. They were able to do this work up there today because of a change in the schedule made two years ago that will eventually allow both the eastbound and westbound lanes to be opened at the same time. Because of some strategic planning, theyre able to finish this project. Reporter in february of 2012, caltrans closed the westbound bridge to move the current westbound lanes to the south, far enough to make room for the construction of the new eastbound lanes. With that westbound traffic out of the way, they could then demolish those original westbound lanes and finish building the eastbound deck. Reporter that replaced the original plan. Were just happy were able to open it to all the driving public at the same time. Reporter these grooves are being etched to help reduce noise. This final section will stand on its own soon. Kpix 5 is your official station for the opening of the new bay bridge. Hayward police are looking for two men who crashed a stolen lexus into a parked car, then ran away with an injured child. It happened just after noon at vallejo and sunset boulevard. The driver ran in one direction. Witnesses say they saw the driver run into a house that is known by police for drug activity. A dramatic end to a police chase in american canyon. A vallejo man was arrested after a short pursuit ended in a crash. Authorities say 64yearold robert craig pulled a gun on walmart employees after he stole a tv. Craig was spotted a short time later and led police on a chase into a mobile home park. It ended when craig crashed into one of the police cars following him. He was taken to jail on charges of robbery, evading police and resisting arrest. Another gun buyback, this time in Solano County. Officials at the Solano County fairgrounds say 30,000 worth of cash and gift cards were given away. People turned in handguns in working condition got 100 and people with assault rifles got 200. The police chief tells kpix 5 people started showing up at the fairgrounds as early as 7 00. A sailboat crash killed one person and led to the rescue of five others. Coast guard crews were called out after a racing sailboat broke apart in the surf near san clemente island. The crew issued a may day call after the rudder failed and the craft began drifting. After making it to shore, the six were hoisted into a coast guard helicopter and taken to a hospital where one man was pronounced dead. A coast guard Spokesman Says one of the survivors kept the situation from getting worse. He mustered all the survivors and got them all underneath one of the rafts on the beach, kept them out of the wind. They were all pretty cold by the time they got to the beach. The crew initially declined assistance from the coast guard and other boaters and requested a tow boat. But eightfoot swells and high winds made that impossible.
