Evacuations still in place in el dorado and placer counties. The trailhead fires burned 4,000 acres since last tuesday. This one is 12 contained. No homes or structures have been damaged. Mo ting women finally tonight, its no secret the nfl is predominantly run by men. But recently more pro teams are putting more women in the leadership lineup. One of the most storied franchises in the nfl. The 49ers. Reporter on the field the 49ers have 11 players on defense. But off the field, this woman, 34yearold hannah gordon, is the one protecting the red and gold. Shes the teams general council. I dont find it so much intimidating as exciting. Reporter anything that touches the team or the stadium has to go through her, and its not an eighthour a day punch the clock job. You spend a 9 00 to 5 00 in meetings then you have to start doing work. Reporter she was a Sports Writer for the daily bruin and carried on with jobs at cal and the raiders. At the time i thought i wanted to go in to sports media. Reporter she found a men mentor with the general manager, amy trask. She wants to be the best at what she does which is what i wanted to do too. Reporter she graduated from stanford law in 2008 and went on to work in the nfl. Her first big case, the nfl lockout. Its not a good place to be in collective bargaining but its also a sort of once in a 30year type of experience that you can get working on something that kind of complex and interesting. Reporter she earned the nickname queen of the lockout. It gave me exposure to a lot of different clubs. It gave me just a ton of experience in a very short period of time. And probably on some level led to him giving me a call one day to ask me if id like to come interview here. People are going to look at your story like oh, my gosh, she came from graduating stanford lockout, graduating from stanford law school, queen of the lockout. You had your own share of setbacks. I was an associate and when they laid off 20 of the associates i was one of them. Usually we only want to talk about our successes but we learn a lot from our failures and learn to be resilient. Reporter that grit runs in the family. Her mother is the former president of the Oakland City Council. She once asked me at like 10 p. M. , hey, do you want to get up at 2 a. M. And drive over to this street where the neighbors have been driving so we can see what it sounds like . I was like no, i have no interest in that. She wanted to experience for herself what her constituents were going through. She wanted to be able to empathize with people. Reporter shes a leader in a league that doesnt exactly have a great track record with women. Anything you have to say about these charges . In your line of work, dealing with the issues youre dealing with, some involve player behavior. Do you ever, because you are a woman, and a lot of these issues sometimes involve domestic abuse, do you ever go, man, really, again . To me, i think its a huge privilege to have a seat at the table to even talk about those issues and its really an opportunity for all of us because these are the things we face in our team are the same things that all of our communities are facing, that all our families are facing. Reporter even though hannah is often the only woman in many of her meetings, she never once felt like she was there because of her gender. They recently started the fellowship which gives young women an opportunity to start their career in sports with the 49ers.
