He was 14 years old when last seen leaving his house on nightengale place in october, 1982. Now, there are leads that indicate he may have been the victim of a crime. And an off duty sheriffs deputy was shot attending his childs event in a Union City School over the weekend. The deputy, youll be glad to know is going to recover. Melanie is live with what happened on campus. Reporter that off duty deputy was in plain clothes and here as a volunteer parent for a color guard competition. Investigators say he saw three individuals in an area he shouldnt have been. He asked them to move, one of them shot him. This is a sketch of one of three men Union City Police investigators say was involved in a shooting outside james logan high school. It happened around eight chn 15 near h street. The street was hosting a color guard invitational. There are a lot of people and it was a big event. Reporter police say a parent, who happened to be a sheriffs deputy noticed three people in a locked portion of the school. Investigators say he flashed a badge and told the men to leave. One man told the deputy to stop following him and pulled out a gun. The deputy turned around, one of them shot him in the leg. The deputy was treated at a local hospital for nonlife threatening injuries. He was armed at the time but investigators say he did not display his firearm. It was pretty clear that it wasnt anything that happened in the pavilion with the student. The spokesperson says parents were notified by phone and employees by email. The campus was locked down, temporarily. Its an event that is separate. And i am hoping that everybody feels safe and i know that the school and staff are working to make sure that it is safe. Formal charges have been filed against a teachers aide accused of hitting a 9yearold student with special needs. Cell phone video shows the 26yearold hitting a boy at the school in antioch. Shes being charged with misdemeanor child abuse. Police say she admitted to losing her temper. A second aide has been charged with failing to report the incident. And a suspect tried to get away by jumping off a bridge is picked up by a fisherman. He led them on a chase to the antioch bridge. He jumped into the san joaquin river. Local fisherman brought him to officers. He was taken to the hospital to be checked for any injuries. Well, in oakland tonight a warning for residents about a kidnapping, robbery and assault suspect. They say he is armed. A 23yearold woman was walking when a stranger came up behind her. She told police he robbed and Sexual Assaulted her. Investigators are looking into a possible connection involving the same suspect. A similar attack happened last month, less than a mile away in the area of piedmont and brandwick area.
