A man was convicted of killing they found 27yearold barry white guilty on two counts of first degree murder, and six counts of assault on a peace officer. Prosecutors say white was angry over the price of a necklace he had purchased. He shot victor hung and slit the throat of another employee. Hung survived. Another group of teenagers is accused of trying to rob a passenger on bart last friday. At least 10 teens grabbed a womans phone as she got off the train. A good samarcon chased them and got the wallet back. In april some teenagers robbed and beat riders at the same station. They now say an extreme case of vandalism is a hate crime, sprawling graffiti on fences and homes in an affluent South Berkeley neighborhood. There were 35 instances of damage. Some of the grufeeaffiti is rac. They say thats now a hate crime. That many is definitely unusual. Thats one or two maybe in a week but to see 35 plus instances in a six to eight hour period. Environmental groups say the push is needed to meet federal standards. The federal clean water act is whats behind this demand that we get trash out of the bay and its coming from cities, our roads and our storm drains and its hurting fish and wildlife in the bay. So cities like oakland need to make this extra effort to keep trash from getting into the bay. The goal is to completely eliminate trash from reaching the by over the next five years.
