Were told a driver was passing by and saw a man and woman standing in the median. That driver tells police that the guy was pointing a hand gun at the girl as the driver passed the trigger and was actually strike striking that drivers windshield. Officers were able to locate that pedestrian who is now in custody. Theyre searching for the girl though. Theres no reports of injuries thankfully. The left two lanes westbound were told on blocked off right now, and are expected to say that way for the next 2 hours. Well let you know as this clears out. Lets get to more breaking news. Police on scene of shooting investigation at 83rd on lower buckeye road. Mary ellen is joining us. Both victims are young. What are you finding out. Reporter both victims are 15year old. Both, were told are in stable but serious condition. One has a gunshot wupd to the face and one has a gunshot wupd to the back of the agencies out here, phoenix and hallison. Were standing southwest of 83rd and buckeye lower buckeye road. It started at a house party according to neighbors. There was teenage house party going on. We do know from police that shots were actually fired at this house party. If youre looking at our video you can see the yellow shell casings were. There were a half a dozen to 10 shots fired that we can see markings of. The victims were actually driven from here to a quick trip which is in the tallison juris dickson. That makes this pull son police on this investigation because theyre having to handle what happened at the quick trip. So we do know that somebody, one of these teens who showed up with two of for them. Now, both of those teens were rushed to the hospital. Again, we have a male, 15year old that was shot in the back of the neck. We have a female that according to phoenix fire was actually shot in the face. We understand is hit around her nose region. Were told theyre going to survive. Theyre in stable condition, but theyre, very serious. In phoenix, mary resendez, abc15 news. Near 103rd avenue and camel back. A man in his 30s was shot during a house party. The group of people stepped outside and got into an argument. At last 5 shots were fired and two striking the victim. He was taken to the hospital with non lifethreatening injuring and Police Questioning people. No word if the shooter in this case have been caught. This house fire near 43rd and Indian School. And sadly one dog that was inside did not make it out. Were told a man and a woman were home at the time. She ran out through the front door while the guy was able to escape the flames from the back of the house. Two dogs got out, but the third one did not survive. No word on what sparked the blaze. Developing now, were waiting to learn details after two people were found dead in sun city. Mcso is labeling this case suspicious. Last night a Family Member found two dead on a home at 147th drive and pertus drive. Police taped off that scene and they began their investigation there, but theres no info on who these victims are or the exact cause of death here. Neighbor was saying an older man lived at that home by himself. Were expecting an update from investigators later on today. So well bring that to you. It was a night behind bars here after a shooting in pema county. Neighbors heard several gunshot and deputies pull over stephen and evans valencia as they drove away. Detectives say they were involved in a driveby. A woman was taken to the hospital with mind or injuries, nick. In mesa, a burglar is on the run and another find bars after a homeowner catches them in the act. We brought this to you as breaking news yesterday morning. The home invasio baseline. A neighbor telling us the homeowner got back to the house from work when he confronted the burglars and he was banged up badly. The neighbor called 911 when the guy came to his door shaken up and bloody asking for help. One of the guys beat him with a chair from his kitchen. He was he hit him in the head multiple times which opened up a wound in his head. Police canvas the area and arrested 1 person. The other is information about a deadly crash on the valley freeway. A motorcyclist killed on highway highway 17. This is 39yearold derrick of phoenix. Investigators are trying to figure out why he crashed. So far they dont believe he was speeding or that road debris was a factor. Its called operation summer burn. The u. S. Marshall service in phoenix saying nearly 200 fugitives now behind bars. Many of them suspected gang members. Officials sent these pictures of crash, drugs and guns that were taken. They say a task force has been targeting gangs in west phoenix and chandler since midjuly. And it ends today. Its a chance for these men and women get up to date training since many are volunteer firefighter areas. I had a chance to see firsthand the kind of training it does take to save lives. Reporter jackets on, pants up and gear ready to go. But these firefighters arent running out for a call. Theyre ready to learn. And push. And come through the door all over the state have come to mesa for training. Many from rural areas where its mostly volunteers and there isnt much money for training exercises on this scale. These arent the kind of things you learn in a traditional setting. This is hands on experience and for some, this isnt the first time theyre getting find the wheel of a fire truck and its harder than it looks. Can i get [indiscernible]. More than a couple, but to get better. These men and women will learn to do rope exercises and go through smokefilled buildings. Others brought from new mexico and california to teach. We dont want anyone [indiscernible]. These firefighters using the latest technology and technique for vehicle rescues. All of this training so when this isnt a drill, these men and women are know and be ready to do what it takes to save lives. Now, that training is put on by t Arizona State Fire Training committee. Mary mary resendez, what have police told you. Reporter i want to tell you allyson, we spoke with a person were going to turn his interview in the next 30 minutes and we spoke to a parent. According to this them, should shooting went over a twoblock span. Police told them there was Something Like 60 shots fired. Take a look at the video. The first video is where im at right now just southwest of the 83rd avenue and lower buckeye. This is where a teen house party was take cents place. Some time within this house party, that gunfire broke out. The teen wasnt able to tell this party or going by. We havent been able to confirm that with police. The two victim both 15year olds. 1 shot in the back of the neck and 1 shot in the nose. Somebody took them to a took them off 83rd and help. And police are both at that qt trying to investigate why they drove them to the qt and theyre over here. Were told detectives are going to interview the kids here. I want to bring you back out here live. We have 15 to 20 to 30 kids waiting to be interviewed by police. A lot of parents starting to show up to pick their kids up. But were still waiting for a lot of confirmation from Phoenix Police. Live in phoenix, mary resendez. In north phoenix, and were learning details in what happened here. You saw first as breaking news at 10 00. How scary. Phoenix police are telling us at least two people started shooting at each other at this scene. It happened in the parking lot in front of chipotle. 1 percent off was taken into custody last night. That suspect was not shot, but officers are still looking for the other person who took off. We dont know yet if they were struck, but nobody else was hurt news. Investigators are now working to figure out what sparked all of this. A firefighter recovering this morning after getting hurt battling a house fire in peoria near 71st avenue and thunder bird. Fire officials saying he flipped on the tile roof. He was helped down and taken to the hospital with a minor sprang. Nobody else hurt, but the flames doing some major damage on that house, nick. 5 33. Happening in north carolina. Investigation after a Police Officer was shot. The officer in critical condition. The officer was searching for a suspect with warrants when he heard shots fired. The 23year old suspect sought on charges of attempted murder for this crime right now. A tragedy on the water massachusetts. Three boats collide during a boat race. One of the boats spun out at 60 milesanhour causing a pileup with all three drivers thrown from their boats. One of the drivers died and two injured. Daycare according to police. A 2year old was under a bean bag chair when an employee accidentally sat on him while reading a book to the rest of the kids and he suffocated to death. In my mind, my child is in your care. He suffocated under a bean bag. How does a 2year old not even 2 yet. Thats heartbreaking. Police are investigating a video tape from inside the daycare. The employee isnt facing charges. A lot of questions for the parents of a blind autistic teen. Their teen found almost starved to death. The mother and father in court. The father officially charged with felony abuse, and negligence. Police say their 17year old son weighed only 88 pounds when he was rushed to the hospital. Neither parents are talking. About what happened . No, talk to my attorney. They said you were the primary caregiver. Doctors say the teen was survively mall nourishing suffering doctors say the teen was suffering from mall nourishment. Now, a witness told police that he was driving and saw a man and a woman standing on the median and apparently saw that man with a hand gun and as he drove by, he says that man opened fire on him shooting the windshield. Thankfully were told nobody was injured. The male pedestrian was in custody. Theyre questioning him right now, and the woman theyre looking for her. 2 westbound lanes closed well let you know as the lanes reopen this morning. It is the deadliest attacks on u. S. Soil. 15 years later, can you believe it. Nearly 3,000 People Killed on 9 11 in, 2001. It has been 15year and remember that faithful day. Who can forget the pictures like a crash crash a plane crashing into a field and one into a building. Thousands hurt on the ground. The entire nation left in shock. Yeah, absolutely. Reporter good morning on the 15th anniversary of the 9 11. Remember the victims of those attacks, the deadliest attack on american soil and remembering those who sacrificed their lives. Theres ground zero. Family members from the 2001 and 1993 attacks at the world trade center. You can see the Freedom Tower there in the back ground at the brooklyn course. They finished the national anthem. Police department playing the ballot. The irish ball you can see the flag right there. [singing] [applause] a moment of silence will be observed at 8 46. This is when the first trade center. One of six through the day. Theres a ceremony at and in pennsylvania. Flight 93 hit the capital brought by heroic passengers and thats the field. Shanks field, pennsylvania. And in a moment, well go back to ground zero for that moment of silence. You have families of the responders, First Responders themselves, and political leaders as you mentioned, Hillary Clinton and donald trump for this moment of remembrance. This is the first of 6 moments of silence that well have today. Two for each of the planes that hit the towers. Two for when the towers came down. One for the pentagon and one for the flight 93 that crashed in shanksville pennsylvania. Also well hear developed hope from the chapel of saint paul. This is the Little Chapel that stood. It served as a sanctuary for first immediate aftermath of 911. Its 15 years ago since this tragic event took place. Former commissioner of the police department. Thanks for joining us this morning. Commissioner kelly, you were commissioner in 1993 when the trade center was first hit and again in 2002, many years after that as new york recovered from those attacks, but that traumatic day effected so many absolutely. It has effects in the department and certainly in the fire department, 343 firefighters. 37 port authorities and 23 new york Police Officers lost their lives. The department responded in a very robust way to address the challenges in 2002 that faced bloomburg administration. Theres over 1,000 Police Officers we deployed individuals overseas to act as for new york city, and thank god no major attack has happened not only in new york city, but with the country with the lone wolf attacks in orlando and san bernardino. Thats a different kind of threat right now, 15 years later. So many harder to defend against. Youre right. Much more difficult. They have developed a trade craft to keep their actions secret, and were going time unfortunately. The big complex plans such as 9 11 is such thats safer against owe guarding against. The Intelligence Community is very much focused on the issue, local police are engaged in the fight. Were monitoring the communications the terrorist. Your heart and mind goes to that because you think of the humans lost that day and those who barely got to know their parents and barely remembering them. And the former commissioners talking about hundreds of First Responders that risk it all and lost it all. But were brave, brave heroes that day. Remember, but important that we do. I was saying just before we took that report that photographer here and i were chatting about how violated you feel when somebody breaks into your house and how that was something that the whole nation felt. Very violated that they would come here and do Something Like that and it shakes you up. But we remember them. Their lives will not be lost in vein. Advancements have been made to make takes everybody to keep our ears out and report anything suspicious, but again very somber the tears are real. Very hard. Those two teens were rushed to a qt c thats the second seen that youre saying. We have Phoenix Police and tulsa police that are on this investigation. So those teens were rushed to the qt. Thats where the ambulance actually picked them up. Were coming back out here live to the scene. Phoenix police still on the scene.
