But still rain moving through parts of the north bay as well as the peninsula and were seeing showers from Half Moon Bay over to 280. We have it parked down san bruno mountain. Were getting a little bit more clearing, but we do still have the concern of some flooding in spots like corrigan creek and the Santa Cruz Mountains. Temperaturewise were feeling much warmer air as that moisture moves in. Ill have a closer look at what we can expect as we go through the day. Lets see whats happening on the roadways. Weve seen several accidents this morning. Look at this map. Wherever you see the arrows or little triangles, thats where were seeing the heaviest of the traffic. Right now along 880, there were pro accidents that happened. A vehicle may be facing the wrong way the southbound side. Also along 680 at stone ridge backing up from dublin down to oak tree. Take extra time out on the road. And earlier we were talking about the southbound flooding at Caesar Chavez street. The bay bridge metering lights are on so we may start seeing some more backup along that area. Thank you very much. The rocks on the roadway are hard to see as well. Kari hall says this area could get up to 8 inches of rain this weekend. You have to be careful out there. The roads are treacherous out there this morning. New video shot at about 4 00 this morning showing the dangerous highways, a lot of water pooling on the side of the roadways. On top of a car in the area and remarkably, guys, there was no damage to the car. As far as what caused this to happen, we dont know if this is weather related. We had the storms hitting pretty hard working overnight. Crews are going to have to move this thing out of the way. We can report there were no injuries as a result of this tree falling down. Pete in San Francisco, thank you. Lets go north where the rain is continuing. People are keeping a very close eye on the selma creek, which has a history of flooding and erosions. As we look at the radar now, this storm kind of winding down. Some more light rain in the forecast today. Ill talk more about that coming up in about ten minutes. Hows the look on the roadways . Well, the metering lights are on and yuck. Pair that up with wet, slick roadways and were looking to a difficult commute. Lets take a look at the maps right now. First we thought being able to get the crabs out of the water was the problem. Now the price is an issue. Always a debate there. No debating the rain coming down in the bay today. Grab that umbrella. Yes. It will be off and on but were seeing some of the heavier rain now tapering off. We get a little chance to dry out before a bigger storm system moves in. Ou mobile Doppler Radar is scanning around and it gives us an h. D. View of what is coming out of those clouds and fine matter such as fog and mist and drizzle. We are the only ones who have it as we scan around the bay area, seeing much of this activity tapering off after heavy rain earlier this morning, lets go to north bay where we still see as you shed farther to the south. Off 101 north near cesar chavez, you can see the flooding as the cars drive through it, as well as when you go on to 80 east near 7th street as the cars head towards the bay bridge. The theme is with the wet roads and freeways, you want to give yourself some distance and leave early for work to avoid being in a rush so youre not speeding on these frees and to drive cautiously on the road with this wet weather. Following the rain you see the slick roadways so its always a good idea to drive cautiously. Pete, thank you very much for that update. 6 34 right now. Lets go to fremont where there is indeed a car plant. Tesla said it fell short of its goal of delivering 80,000 cars in the year. They delivered 76,000. The thing is with tesla, it always, always falls short of its goals. Originally tesla had planned to build 90,000 cars in 20. They revised that to 80,000. They actually built about 76,000. But thats still 51 better than the year they did before. Tesla cannot, does not, probably never will reach the goals that it claims but it is building more cars. Were seeing a little bit of a break there, mist drizzle. As you go from san mateo to palo alto, some light rain falling and its still steady as you head from union city and farther off toward the east and from hayward and seeing that extending toward the trivalley. Right now temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. This is where temperatures will hold steady as we go through the day and even as we catch some breaks with low visibility there as you see the bay bridge and that San Francisco camera shot. As we go into the rest of the day, seeing much of this rain tapering, a little bit of chance to dry out. Still, a chance of rain at any point today, especially in the north bay where there will still be a stream of moisture dipping in. The flood warnings have been dropped and thats great news as we get a little bit of a break before a stronger system moves in this weekend. Between saturday and sunday we see the bulls eye over the Santa Cruz Mountains with some very intense rain on the way with this Atmospheric River streaming subtropical moisture into the bay area and even next week more rain in the forecast. So looking good as we try to put a dent in this drought but we dont need flooding in all of this with a chance of close to 8 inches of rain while the rest of the bay area gets 3 to 5 inches of rain in the sierra. Once again, we talked about several feet of snow. This is what one computer model is putting down over the next several days. Lets see how the roads are moving and what it looks like on the rails.
