Winds on shore and cooling down the temperatures around the inner bay and close to San Francisco on the order of three to four degrees cooler than the same time yesterday but all of this again turns in the opposite direction as we head toward tomorrow and for the middle part of the week. Look at the snow in the sierra. The numbers very impressive statewide. About 194 of average, the most this late in this season since 2011. Near the Yosemite Valley monday through thursday, temperatures in the 80s. So that snow is starting to melt, and the merced river at the bridge, around yosemite, briefly wednesday morning, just briefly above flood stage and then by early friday morning, 2 00 a. M. , we could see the river maybe a foot a bove flood stage. And we see more of this through the month of may. Temperatures in the 40s to 50s to start. Cool start so a jacket for the morning but not by lunchtime as we see numbers close to 80 by noon. Mid80s by midafternoon around the Santa Clara Valley and upper 80 frs sonnol toward concord and teams in the 70s. Mid70s to upper 70s, close to San Francisco. And again there is a look at the north bay. Upper 80s, maybe close to 90 around sonoma. So temperatures warm five to eight degrees tomorrow and midafternoon highs in the mid80s inland and then check out tuesday. It keeps going up. Same story toward wednesday. As High Pressure reaches peak intensity on wednesday afternoon. Could see some 90s, possible heat advisories but that goes away starting on thursday and friday. Big drop in temperatures brought on by low pressure which well have to watch to see just how much moisture it has because the air is cold enough for snow showers at 6,000 feet in the sierra, adding more to that snow pack, possibly by next weekend. But those midweek headlines will be hot temperatures, fire danger and even with all of the rain weve had, that will help to dry out the hills and watch the wind speed there and then stay tuned about next weekend. Reporter buildings in the rails path are coming down. Were going underneath and over bridges over existing rail lines. Reporter highspeed rail spokesperson tony grew up among the agricultural fields and industrial buildings. Seeing construction like this, ive never seen it in my lifetime, i probably wouldnt again. The work is part of the 119 miles now under construction between nearby madera and bakersfield but it is not without pain. The impact include the demolition of overpass and farms and endless detours an the relocation of hundreds of businesses. The work is even moving over a section of highway 99 by 100 feet. Construction for highspeed rail is at a minimum a big hassle. Some residents say the work has turned life upside down. I start thinking about it and i get angry because there are so many people good that are affected by this. A pastry maker lynn said the frustration has boiled over. Most of the people here in this area hope that highspeed rail does not continue. We make sure that we are sensitive to those impacks. It does change someones way of life, the way they do business. It will prevent him from passing the large steel tanks past his driveway and hes going to trial to try to stop it. I was doing fine until they showed up.
