Theres been another lawsuit filed against a dublin area chp officer that he secretly copied racy photos from the victims foam. He pled no contest to charges of theft and copying Computer Data and resigned from the chp. The final countdown is on for a key piece of the old bay bridge. At 7 00 tomorrow morning, 600 charges of dynamite will take down the concrete structure while a wall of bubbles absorbs the shock waves and shields the fish. Its a process that will take just six seconds. Theres a blast mat thats made of steel, heavy steel. And it will reduce and prevent any debris from flying up and out of the water. Reporter cars will be kept from driving on the bay bridge for about 15 minutes as a precaution. Caltrans says the blast wont be anything spectacular to see or even hear. The bus was speeding out of control for blocks, hitting cars, pedestrians, and eventually the scaffolding at a construction site. 20 people have been hospitalized with injuries. Six of them in Critical Condition. Wanted to show a live picture from the nbc chopper. Police and firefighters still working in the dark trying to figure out what happened. The crash occurred at 3 00 this afternoon. Post street still littered with the wreckage from the crash. Nbc bay area has more friday scene. Do we have any idea what happened to the driver of the bus that led him to keep hitting things . Reporter we dont. We know investigators are speaking with him. Were told he is injured but is conscious and able to communicate with them. The scene here is now a full investigation. The investigation is in investigative mode. If you remember, just five minutes ago, there was another doubledecker bus parked in the street here. They just moved it out of the way as this investigation gets underway. And you see it revealed when it drove away. Several cars were trapped, crushed between these two doubledecker buses. The bus they removed was not the bus that caused this accident. That bus is buried under that scaffolding. The doubledecker bus that came careening down post street. It hit a cyclist two blocks away and came speeding down post street into union square hitting cars, injuring drivers, and hitting people on the street, injuring pedestrians. People on the bus were also injured. 20 people transported, six people in Critical Condition. Three with moderate injuries and 12 with minor injuries. The driver is injured but is talking with investigators. Witnesses who rushed to help say it was a chaotic scene. People rushed to help. Luckily theres a lot going on. A lot of people helping out here were actually emts or doctors, certified. People were running up on top of the bus. Thats where the guy that was injured was. You know, i gave my scarf to someone that was injured here. She had a broken arm, broken leg. It was bad. Reporter a chaotic scene as you can imagine. Now what a job to piece together what happened here and to get at that bus. Were going to remove all these cars. And the next order of business once that happens is to remove that scaffolding that the bus drove into. This construction site is the new apple store. Police say theyre investigating 30 witnesses, talking to the driver of the bus. Theyre also canvassing the neighborhood looking for video that will tell them more about exactly what happened that sent 20 people to the hospital when this tour bus crashed. They hit as many as six locations including a restaurant, a popular restaurant, where at least ten people were killed there. Also just outside the National Soccer stadium in paris, reports of two suicide bombings. People running for their lives. At another location, a concert hall, you see French Military closing in with guns drawn, after gunmen took dozens of hostages inside an American Band from southern california, eagles of def metal set to perform. Nbc news has confirmed in the last ten minutes a member affiliated with the band was killed. One of 118 hostages killed in that location. Two gunmen also killed there. The situation is far from over.
