San francisco as we mentioned is under a heightened alertment all available officers are on duty. There was heavy security in paris, but it didnt prevent these attacks obviously. Among the targeted locations, explosions and gunfire at a concert hall, a restaurant, and outside of a major sports stadium. For the second time this year, the city has been crippled. World leaders are reaching out to the french people including president obama. The one World Trade Center in the background. The foreground, the empire state building. Authority are confirming. Another attack at the National Stadium at the paris. No one knew what was going on. Reports say it was at least two suicide bombings outside the stadium. A third attack at a busy restaurant where it opened fire. Reports that ten people were killed. Terrorized innocent civilians. This is an attack not just on paris. Its an attack not just on the people of france, but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values that we share. Just about everybody has been buzzing about the paris situation. Many travelers told me they are grateful to be back on the ground, calling it all a very emotional scene. Some workers at air france that we talked to say they were able to get a last flight out to france two hours ago and did not get many if any cancelations. Many travelers we talked to are from europe. One man said his brother and family live in the paris area and had just gotten off the phone with them after hearing about the attacks. Everythings going to be in lockdown tomorrow. Theres going to be no metro runni running, the university closed. They were indirectly affected. Reporter whats their emotional state . I think theyre very thankful that theyre safe. Back live at the International Terminal sfo, you see its calmed down quite a bit. Most of the travelers say they did not intend to change their plans even after the attacks. They said they did not want to be intimidated. There are a number of flights that are taking off to france from here later tonight. Well see how the situation there affects those plans. Theres been another lawsuit filed against a dublin area chp officer that he secretly copied racy photos from the victims foam. In the lawsuit, former officer sean harrington, seen here, is listed as one of the defendants. Last month another complaint that he pulled a woman over for dui, copied racy photos from her phone, and sent it to friends. He pled no contest to charges of theft and copying Computer Data and resigned from the chp. The final countdown is on for a key piece of the old bay bridge. Caltrans is set to blow up the spans biggest underwater pier in a firstofitskind demolition tomorrow. Want to show a live look at the new bay bridge. Reporter the implosion is scheduled to take place early tomorrow morning. While it sounds impressive, caltrans says it wont look impressive. This is a highly orchestrated operation reporter caltrans says theyre all set to implode a fivestory underwater pier that used to help hold up the old bay bridge. At 7 00 tomorrow morning, 600 charges of dynamite will take down the concrete structure while a wall of bubbles absorbs the shock waves and shields the fish. Its a process that will take just six seconds. Theres a blast mat thats made of steel, heavy steel. And it will reduce and prevent any debris from flying up and out of the water. Reporter cars will be kept from driving on the bay bridge for about 15 minutes as a precaution. Caltrans says the blast wont be anything spectacular to see or even hear. Its not like what youll see in las vegas when a building is brought down. Reporter thats not stopping folks from trying to get a glimpse. Eric nadler is selling tickets to an implosion bay cruise complete with a deejay, photographer, and a bar. Today, a handful of girls controversy brewing for the boy scouts from sonoma county. It has to do with gender. A handful of girls are challenging the groups boysonly policy. Is it discrimination . Heres more. Reporter the issue came up when girls began participating recently in cub scout campouts. Girls, though, were not covered under the insurance policy. So to become covered, the girls are applying to join. Id like to be a boy scout. Reporter in front of the top boy scout leaders in santa rose agirls 10 to 13 years old handed applications to a National Executive of the organization to become cub scouts. The girls listed several reasons. We get to learn more life skills and be outdoors a little more than in girl scouts. Reporter the girl say Cub Scout Program activities are more relevant than traditional programs in girl scouts. Im learning to interact with boys who im going to have to interact with when i get jobs, when im in college, when im in high school. Reporter the girls parent are challenging the boy scouts mission which uses inclusive terms to describe participants. Their own Mission Statement says youth. Young people. It doesnt say boys. The bus was speeding out of control for blocks, hitting cars, pedestrians, and eventually the scaffolding at a construction site. 20 people have been hospitalized with injuries. Six of them in Critical Condition. Wanted to show a live picture from the nbc chopper. Police and firefighters still working in the dark trying to figure out what happened. The crash occurred at 3 00 this afternoon. Post street still littered with the wreckage from the crash. Nbc bay area has more friday scene. Do we have any idea what happened to the driver of the bus that led him to keep hitting things . Reporter we dont. We know investigators are speaking with him. Were told he is injured but is conscious and able to communicate with them. The scene here is now a full  investigation. The investigation is in investigative mode. If you remember, just five minutes ago, there was another doubledecker bus parked in the street here. They just moved it out of the way as this investigation gets underway. And you see it revealed when it drove away. Several cars were trapped, crushed between these two doubledecker buses. The bus they removed was not the bus that caused this accident. That bus is buried under that scaffolding. The doubledecker bus that came careening down post street. It hit a cyclist two blocks away and came speeding down post street into union square hitting cars, injuring drivers, and hitting people on the street, injuring pedestrians. People on the bus were also injured. 20 people transported, six people in Critical Condition. Three with moderate injuries and 12 with minor injuries. The driver is injured but is talking with investigators. Witnesses who rushed to help say it was a chaotic scene. People rushed to help. Luckily theres a lot going on. A lot of people helping out here were actually emts or doctors, certified. People were running up on top of the bus. Thats where the guy that was injured was. You know, i gave my scarf to someone that was injured here. She had a broken arm, broken leg. It was bad. Reporter a chaotic scene as you can imagine. Now what a job to piece together what happened here and to get at that bus. Were going to remove all these cars. And the next order of business once that happens is to remove that scaffolding that the bus drove into. This construction site is the new apple store. Police say theyre investigating 30 witnesses, talking to the driver of the bus. Theyre also canvassing the neighborhood looking for video that will tell them more about exactly what happened that sent 20 people to the hospital when this tour bus crashed. Reporter we just got word minutes ago that seven of the terror suspects have been killed. They are dead. We do not know their identities. They unleashed a massacre first killing more than 150, and that number is expected to rise. This is what we know right now. Gunmen armed with automatic weapons stormed several sites in paris about six hours ago. They hit as many as six locations including a restaurant, a popular restaurant, where at least ten people were killed there. Also just outside the National Soccer stadium in paris, reports of two suicide bombings. People running for their lives. At another location, a concert hall, you see French Military closing in with guns drawn, after gunmen took dozens of hostages inside an American Band from southern california, eagles of def metal set to perform. Nbc news has confirmed in the last ten minutes a member affiliated with the band was killed. One of 118 hostages killed in that location. Two gunmen also killed there. The situation is far from over. Frances president is asking everyone in paris to stay indoors. President hollande has ordered his countrys borders closed. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for this attack. Militant groups including isis are reportedly celebrating tonights attack on social media. And again in just the past few minutes, weve learned that seven of the suspects have been killed. Many have lived or were from paris. Theyve been checking in with loved ones. Heres what they had to say could hear the shootings from home. Stuck in their home and scared, making sure that nothing else is going to happen. What the terrorists want is to stop us in doing what we do. So well not stop working and will keep the peace.
