Thats according to experts with nasa and noaa, the National Oceanic and atmospheric administration. The higher temps were driven by record temps in the records oceans that didnt just break marks, it actually shattered them. And theyre not really surprised by this but i think its raising a lot of alarm bells. It even had a 1 degree difference in temperatures over a severalyear period can bring us some widespread side effects. Only Mother Nature knows what is going to happen over the next 10 to 20 years. Finally i told my wife somebody needs to take pictures of vasco before it goes away. Reporter so figueroa got a camera and started snapping away. I went out one weekend and started taking pictures and came back with some really beautiful shots. Reporter at first, he photographed the road. Then his lens found the backdrop. I want to get the water tower, the vineyard in an afternoon. Reporter a calico barn a sturdy tree, a weathered door. For a while, i just wanted to focus on the landscape. But its so inseparable with the people. Reporter eventually, figueroa sought out the people. At first i thought what is this guy doing. Reporter like fifth generation rancher. 1865 my great grandfather came here to work on the ranch. Reporter figueroa has taken many, many many votes of rooneys ranch. The old cars, the barn. You photographed your truck. Its about the beauty along the road. Its about the heritage. Reporter its a beauty that somehow rises above that notorious representation for daddy accidents. It has its horror stories. Reporter but thats not the road he sees when he clicks the shutter. Looking east at a sunrise, you can see the backlit silhouette of the sierra. There are two barnes. Youre not driving in vain there is really a lot of beauty here. Reporter joe rosato jr. Nbc bay area news. And he did a great job of capturing that beauty too. Its nice up there. I want to go road trip to vasco road this weekend. It wont take you long to get there. Jeff ranieri is here with our holiday weekend. It looks like l. A. Outside a bit. Its hazy. We have the cloud cover. We have the drizzle. And thats the great thing about the bay area. When we have one sort of weather in one zone youre going to have usually Something Different in another. And thats what were going to have this weekend. You can see in the satellite radar picture most of the heaviest storm activity continues to remain well off to the north. We are just frustratingly on the bottom edge of this system. So thats why we havent seen any major rain returns. We have seen trace amounts to about 0. 03 up into marin. And even though the radar right now does not show anything in terms of green, at the extreme lower levels which the radar scan misses sometimes, we are tracking some patchy drizzle for tonight. I think thats also going to be in effect for tomorrow. You can see outside the Sky Camera Network right now. Temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. A little drizzle in the east bay, San Francisco and the north bay. Weve been showing you San Francisco because you can really see that low level area of moisture right here. Its that gray that is getting reflected off of the lights tonight, and also folks with their windshield wipers on this evening with temperatures right around the mid50s. Well take you to the forecast pattern, and the biggest problem we have had is this area of High Pressure. If we could just push this out of the way, we would see that storm track moving right across the bay area. But its not going to happen. High pressure is going to stay in just about the same spot as we continue to head throughout this weekend. Thats going to deflect all of the storm activity. Were going see some of the residual moisture on the bottom edge produce a few possible showers this weekend. An area of High Pressure that has so much dry air with it that as some of that moisture gets close, it evaporates and we lose all of our chances of any kind of major accumulation. So as we get a look at the forecast for saturday you can see on the microclimate we will have a better chance of drizzle in some spots than others. I think overall, the south bay will be the driest location. Well have the best chance of that sun poking through the most here across los gatos and morgan hill. Upper 60s to about 70. San jose expecting a high of 67. For the peninsula, 63 in pacifica. Possibility of drizzle. 62346 palo alto staying on the cloudier side. And for San Francisco, well also keep the chance here of the mist and on again off again drops in the forecast. Temperatures in the low 60s. And for the north bay, east bay and trivalley we again have the rain icon here. Throughout the north bay, remember, its not a bigtime storm system. Youll be driving along. It will be dry, and then all of the sudden you may need to turn on the windshield wipers. Same thing in oakland with 63. For walnut creek 66 and partly sunny. For trivalley, also partly sunny skies here in pleasanton and 68 degrees. So the overall weekend forecast if you do want the driest weather, its going to be in the south bay, and also for the trivalley. Temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. But if youre you know okay with the spotty showers and youre traveling here across the bay area this weekend. You can expect that possibility of some hit and miss drizzle in the peninsula, San Francisco, also for the east bay and the north bay, both on saturday and also for sunday morning. Now, if you want total sunshine, weve nailed down that forecast for you as we head throughout this threeday weekend for a lot of us heading into Martin Luther king jr. Day on monday. And for tomorrow a best chance of showers would be in San Francisco. Its really going to be very isolated and the north bay. And thats also going to extend into sunday. For most of you, its probably going to look and feel more like a drizzle. And then you can see dry weather as we continue throughout next monday tuesday and also on wednesday.
