Reporter neighbors were told to stay inside for at least a half an hour while the sheriffs deputies went on a manhunt. A sheriffs deputy tried to pull over a white cadillac this morning. The driver took off, crashed the car into a tree and narrowly missed hitting a house. Lee lives in the house. Hes okay, but definitely shaken. Very surprising. And very scary, too. A lot of police in front of the house. Reporter there were four people inside the car, one woman stayed put, but witnesses say three men took off running. Backup was called in, and dozens of deputies combed the area with guns drawn. They also used search dogs to try to find the suspects. Eventually, three men were taken into custody. Of course, the big question tonight is what are those men accused of. Its a question we asked sheriffs deputies several times but so far they have not returned our calls. The fire in north vallejo back on may 31st caused about 15,000 of damage at the loma vista school. The bark chips fueled the flames. No one was injured. Crimestoppers is offering a 1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. Flames leaping from a san jose home. Take a look at this. A firefighter shot this video with his cell phone. Paramedics rushed two residents to a hospital with minor burns. A firefighter also treated for burns at the scene. You see a firefighter up on the roof right there. They know what theyre doing. The fire started about 8 00 this morning in a garage in the allen rock neighborhood. A family of four was inside. They got out just in time. The fire, when we first got here, was in a smoldering state. As it got some oxygen, the front room and kitchen flashed on the firefighters inside. We had flames through the roof up to 10 to 15 feet. Red cross is helping residents find a place to stay tonight. According to firefighters, that fire started by a cooking appliance in the garage. That was left on. Fire crews on alert after a wildfire breaks out in the north bay. That fire north of novato and san rafael border scorched five acres. The flames were heading toward homes on heatherstone drive in novato. No evacuations were ordered. It is now out. At one point heavy smoke caused traffic jams on southbound 101. The windy conditions certainly helped to fuel the flames there. Yeah, interesting day we had. Cooler temperatures outside. The marine air is coming in. Normally thats good news. Right now 62 degrees in San Francisco. A 24hour temperature change shows most of the bay area is cooler. 73 humidity in San Francisco. 65 in oakland. We have the breezy conditions outside. The back drop of the bigger fire danger picture has more to do with the Drought Conditions were seeing around the state. Even with the cooler marine air today, the fire danger remains. Were seeing late summerlike conditions outside. This exceptional drought were seeing in the east bay and south bay, its these locations right here where fire danger is elevated as we would typically see in september, because of the dry conditions weve been seeing outside. Short term, well see improvement in this pattern, later tonight into tomorrow morning, where we could get some drizzle coming down with some of those low clouds, something that could have an impact on your monday morning commute. Another fastmoving fire threatening 500 homes near the Sequoia National forest. Its burning about 30 miles north of bakersfield. Hundreds of 40e7homes there are being evacuated. The fire doubled in size overnight. Crews say nearly three square miles have already burned. It is only 10 contained. Nearly 600 firefighters are battling the flames on the ground, and from the air. Unclear so far if any structures have been destroyed. The cause of this fire is under investigation. New details on a deadly crash in San Francisco. Police say drunk driving may have been a factor. According to the chp, a man was driving his toyota suv on the fifth street offramp by westbound i80 this morning. He went off the roadway. He ended up on a dirt embankment and hit a sleeping homeless man. The victim died at the scene. The driver was rushed to the hospital with minor injuries, later Police Arrested him on suspicion of felony dui and vehicular manslaughter. Due back in court tomorrow, a San Francisco political consultant accused of having bombmaking explosives. On thursday a federal grand jury handed down an indictment against chamberlain. A federal magistrate has ordered chamberlain undergo a psychiatric evaluation. Sacramento lawmakers have hammered out an agreement on the 20142015 state budget. The 108 billion budget package passed the assembly day, now heading to the state senate. The big winners in this budget are programs that include supporting preschool, home caregivers and welfare to work grants. The budget also calls for using 25 of cap and trade revenue for highspeed rail. The budget also focuses on paying down debt and builds a rainy day fund. That new budget will go into play july 1st. Not far off from the high we saw around San Francisco today. Also, some high clouds on top of that layer of low clouds spilling over the coastal mountains. Right now, inland locations running quite a bit cooler than yesterday, with livermore getting close to 90 on saturday. And right now, were 11 degrees cooler than 24 hours ago. Bigtime cooling south of san jose as the marine area made its way inland. Gusty, up to 25 miles an hour. Fairfield and livermore, wind speeds approaching 20 miles per hour. This is the marine air spilling in. Which is good news for as youre about to see air quality except the pollen count still fairly high for grass pollen and junipe junipers. The good Health Issues for tomorrow, with ground level lows, not a problem. You hardly see this in june, where air quality is great from the north bay to the south bay. Thats a sign of the strong ocean winds also keeping our temperatures down to start the week. The active weather off to the north, and a few showers north of lake tahoe. For the bay area, were seeing high clouds spilling over, and some low clouds approaching the coast. Low clouds will thicken up tonight and give us a chance of mist or drizzle in spots. I think including around the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, down the peninsula along the coast, and perhaps around hayward, fremont and oakland. Drizzle early, and through the day well see clearing skies but Cool Temperatures for the first half of the week. The patterns not going to change much between now and tuesday. Well see a light bump up in temperatures on tuesday. Monday will be the coolest day of the week. As we head to wednesday, the high will cross back over towards northern california. So for wednesday, youll notice at the bottom of the screen, sevenday forecast has the temperatures climbing. The numbers cool off as we get into friday and next saturday. Youll see the temperatures cooling off next weekend. 72 in san jose tomorrow. San francisco in the low 60s. Again, areas of drizzle and mist possible for your monday. The numbers start to make the turn upward slightly on tuesday. Warmest days of the week around san jose should be wednesday into thursday. More or less the same pattern for the north bay and trivalley. Highs tomorrow a little cooler than the highs we saw today. Mid70s around livermore and pleasanton. You can see the trend here, monday looks to be the coolest day. By wednesday and thursday, mid to upper 80s briefly around the trivalley. A bay area city wants to bring back red light cameras. Oaklands red light cameras may soon get the green light again. Oakland police will Seek Proposals from Camera Companies to revive the citys red light camera program. Cameras at 11 intersections were abruptly turned off last month when the department hit a cap on payments to the vendor. Oakland police say it reduces crashes at the intersections where theyre placed. The biggest and best roller coasters. Coaster con got under way today at californias great america.
